This trip begins when Mae Pranom is invited by Sheraton Hua Hin Pranburi Villas to stay over for 2 nights on 29 - 31 August.

Sheraton Hua Hin Pranburi Villas bought the pool villa part from Evason Hua Hin and have them renovated.

This travel review will also take you to Wat Huay Mongkol temple, Na Huay Mongkol Floating Market, Khao Kalok, and Chao Mae Tuptim shrine which are not far from Sheraton Hua Hin Pranburi Villas.

If you are ready then let's go!

We depart from Bangkok around 9 AM, have lunch, and then stop by Wat Huay Mongkol temple on the way to the resort. I think it is best this way because the hotel's check-in time is at 2 PM.

Wat Huay Mongkol temple is where the world's largest statue of Luang Phor Thuad situated. Wat Huay Mongkol is located in Huay Kot village, Tub Tai, Hua Hin district - Prachuap Khiri Khan. That's why the temple used to be named Wat Huay Kot temple

The name of Wat Huay Mongkol temple was granted by His Majesty The King Rama IX. His Majesty developed the road to get to the temple and also named this road as same as the temple "Huay Mongkol".

Then it was Phra Kru Papatvorapinit (Phra Ajahn Phairoj Papatsaro), the current abbot of Wat Huay Mongkol temple who is the developer and well-respected by people in Huay Mongkol village in cooperation with General Viset Kong-Uthaikul, deputy Commander of the Royal Guards to construct the statue in merit and honor of H.M. Queen Sirikit for her 72nd Birthday and aim to carry forth and spread the Buddhist teachings.

Luang Phor Thuad has always been very well-respected and well-known among Buddhists especially in the southern part of Thailand.

Hence there was a collaboration of many organizations both public and private sectors to build this world's largest sculpture of Luang Phor Thuad.

Her Majesty Queen Sirikit also came to be part of the construction ceremony on 27th August 2004.

Luang Phor Thuad statue is about 9.9-meter width and 11.5-meter height set on a large mound.

There is also a huge room under the statue for religious activity.

Thais respect elephant as a auspicious animal and it has been an animal that represent the country for ages. The ancient believe that who ever brave enough to walk under the elephant's belly will not have any other obstacle in life and will be successful. And you can do that here.

There are quite a lot of spots inside the temple where they are good for photo shooting.

There is even a cafe in case you would like to find a place to chill and relax inside the temple.

And there is a floating market nearby named Na Huay Mongkol Floating Market.

We arrive in late afternoon on Friday and we are not sure if this floating market is opened because it seems to be very quiet and no one is here.

It is a huge floating market, it must be crowded on weekends.

There is a day spa as well and it is not expensive at all, so let's have a quick massage then!

We walk around for a bit see how it is like then maybe we can come again on the weekends.

It is about 1 hour to get to the resort from Na Huay Mongkol Floating Market.

Let's check in!

A very nice welcome drink for a refreshment.

We stay in Villa #002 and we can either walk to the villa or ride a bicycle.

We are on that little green spot on this resort map.

Our room is a Pool Villa Suites divided into two villa, living room villa and bedroom villa.

The left villa is a living room villa which can be converted into a bedroom as well. If you want to have it converted you can contact the reception directly and with no extra charge meaning that 2 more people can stay over too.

And the right villa is a bedroom villa.

Let's have a look at the living room villa first!

Huge TV screen with a DVD player.

This is the bathroom inside the living room villa, we don't use this bathroom at all because we are only 2 people.

And now let's go and have a look at the bedroom villa!

The bathroom is bigger than the previous one.

Wow! There is even a private steam room.

An outdoor shower, look like fun.

There is a huge screen TV with a DVD player inside the bedroom as well.

Standardizes bed of Sheraton, very comfortable.

Jacuzzi right in front of the bedroom, we can watch the TV while enjoying the Jacuzzi.

Or going to bed right after the Jacuzzi is also possible.

Going directly to the pool is another good option too. The pool is about 10-meter long.

Now let's move on to see other part of the resort!

This is The Link @ Sheraton, there is one in every Sheraton Hotels where you are able to use complementary internet and printer.

This is the place where I used the high-speed internet to contact my children while I was in Maldive.

This is the old photo from Maldive trip.

I guess it is time for dinner now, let's go!

There is only one restaurant in the resort named Dalah and the restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor area.

But it seems like the outdoor area offer better vacation-like ambiance.

There is a Happy Hour, buy one get one free from 05.00 PM to 07.00 PM.

So make sure you are right on time then you can enjoy the drinks.

Let's have a look at the menu! and 30% discount will be applied if you hold a Eat Drink & More card.

Our first dish is a signature dish here, it is a Dalah salad (Torch Ginger Flower salad).

The next one is Tom Yum Goong ( Thai sour and spicy shrimp soup). Thai cuisine here is like an original one so it is pretty good.

Stir-fried Crab meat with Curry.

The last one is a Scallops in Black Pepper sauce.

Lastly, we end this dinner with Coconut Milk Ice Cream with toppings.

And this one, but I forget how it is called.

And now let's walk around the resort and see how does it look like at night!

It is very calm, quiet, and romantic at night I would say.

And back to our villa, let's see how it is at night!

It is totally amazing, I confirm.

Breakfast on Sunday is more special with this live show of Chinese cymbalo.

Make sure you get a good spot for breakfast.

All rooms are included the breakfast.

The Breakfast buffet line is not as wow as the Evason (old hotel operation) but the quality and variety is pretty good.

We are done with the breakfast and now let us take you to see the cheapest room type in the resort named 1-Bedroon Pool Villa #003 and this room also offer a sea view.

The room price is not that expensive from what I have seen on the website and at Thailand Travel Fair. For this you can even ask me personally.

This room is similar to the one we stay but only with one villa.

Everything such as TV, DVD player, steam room, bathroom and size of the room is exactly the same as our bedroom villa.

Except the size of the pool which is smaller.

We take the promotion of BBQ Ribs and salad with 2 bottles of beer set at 760 THB for our lunch, we are to lazy to eat out.

This is how it looks like, big portion and this is perfect for two.

Chef recommends that this promotion is the best choice for lunch.

We order extra Chicken salad.

And we are very lucky to get this complementary Spaghetti with Mantis Shrimp, they are afraid that there is not enough food for us and would like us to try this specialty too.

We are ready for lunch, let's eat!

Amazing food with amazing ambiance, what a perfect lunch!

And now let's go out! Our first stop is Khao Kalok which is not far from the resort.

You can buy some food to eat on the beach, this grill chicken at 140 THB per one as an example. (If we knew about this before, we would have come here for lunch)

And then we are going to Chao Mae Tuptim shrine.

There is an enormous crocodile statue in front of Chao Mae Tuptim shrine.

Let's go and pay homage to Chao Mae Tuptim shrine!

Let's get back to the resort and go to the beach!

They are all for rent.

There is some development going on by the beach recently, I bet it will be beautiful when it is done.

Now let we show you the Duplex Pool Villas. It is a 2-storey villa and of course it is a bit more expensive.

This is the inside of Duplex Pool Villas.

Let's go upstairs!

The bedroom on the 2nd floor.

We go for this Saturdays BBQ Buffet promotion for dinner.

And we definitely join the Happy Hour before the dinner again. Today we have The Lychee and Cookie Delight.

There is a live music from 06.30 PM to 09.30 PM on Saturdays BBQ Buffet dinner.

There is a variety of quality food and fresh seafood of daily caught from the fish pier nearby.

I take the shrimp from the BBQ and create my own sour and spicy shrimp soup, not bad!

Very big and fresh mantis shrimp.

This trip ends here and it is time to say goodbye.

Behind the scene.
