Are you planning to travel to Singapore soon? Read our tips below on the awesome things to do in Singapore with suggested tours.
Singapore, the lion city, may the smallest country in South East Asia, but it’s undeniably powerful and one of the best in the world. My parents and I went to Singapore a few years ago and paired it with a trip to Malaysia. We actually waited for 2019 here and saw the grand fireworks in Marina Bay. It may be small, but surely you will have a lot of fun activities!

List of things to do in Singapore
1. See the famous Merlion in Merlion Park
Getting there: Ride to Raffles Place Station and exit at United Overseas Bank Plaza, it is behind Fullerton Hotel
The most iconic landmark in this nation is the Merlion. Though there are 7 all over the country, the one in Merlion Park across Marina Bay Sands is the one that is visited by most tourists. It’s definitely one of the things to do in Singapore. After picture taking, you could go to the Marina Bay and enjoy other activities going to Gardens by the Bay, Singapore Flyer, or ArtScience Museum.

2. Eat at a Hawker Center
Another must thing to do in Singapore is eating at a Hawker Center. It’s an open-air complex with many stalls offering various food from Singaporean, Chinese, Malaysian, Indonesian, etc. If you are on a budget, it’s really worth it to eat here as it’s cheap and delicious.

3. Explore Sentosa Island
Getting there: Ride to the HarbourFront station, go to VivoCity and board Sentosa Express in level 3
Sentosa is an island on the southern coast. It used to be a British military base and a prison camp, but it turned to be an ideal tourist destination. Aside from Universal Studios, there are also hotels like Resorts World Sentosa, beaches, a Mega Adventure Park, SEA Aquarium, and many more. You should not miss this!

4. Visit the Singapore Botanic Gardens
Getting there: Stop at Botanic Gardens MRT Station
If you want to go to a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the country, visit the Singapore Botanic Garden. It’s the first and only site, as of writing. It was awarded because, as per UNESCO, it’s “demonstrates the evolution of a British tropical colonial botanic garden.” It’s a great place to enjoy nature in the middle of the bustling country.

5. Enjoy Nightlife Clarke Quay
Getting there: Stop at Clarke Quay MRT Station
Nightlife? Clarke Quay is the best place to be. It used to be full of warehouses for goods, but it has been redesigned for restaurants and nightclubs like Zirca. If you are not into that, enjoy the Singapore River by walking along the bay or having a cruise.

6. Buy souvenirs at Bugis Street Market
Getting there: Stop at Bugis MRT Station and ask locals
Orchard Road is quite expensive but if you want some goodies and souvenirs, go to Bugis Street. We were actually lost getting here, so we asked locals, and they helped us. I bought a lot of chocolates, ref magnets and pens, and T-shirts. You can also haggle with the sellers. There are also trendy, fashionable items there and food.

7. Discover Changi Airport
Getting there: Stop at Changi Airport MRT Station
Changi Airport is the world’s best airport, and you should not miss your chance to tour here, especially if you have a departure flight from here. We actually went early, almost 7 hours before our flight, since I wanted to tour all the terminals. Transferring from terminal to terminal is free. I was so lucky there was also a Harry Potter set-up when I visited there. Aside from it, there’s a gorgeous indoor waterfall, gardens(butterfly, cactus), art installations, a pool, a slide, and many more.
