The Bun Bang Fai tradition of Yasothon Province is the origin of the rain ceremony of the Yasothon people. The Bun Bang Fai tradition is not only held on a grand scale in the Mueang district, but it is also a tradition of the people of the whole province, with every district, sub-district, and village organizing it throughout the province.

The pictures of the Bun Bang Fai festival that I am about to share with the Readme.TH community were taken back in 2013. The event was not held in the Mueang district of Yasothon province, nor was it a district-level event. This was a village-level event. However, I am sure that everyone who sees these pictures will want to visit the festival. All of the pictures were taken with an iPhone 4, which was the best phone I had at the time. I didn't have a DSLR camera like I do now for my other posts. Please feel free to comment and share your thoughts on the quality of the pictures. Let's get started...

Most of the Bun Bang Fai festivals are held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, as they are organized to allow people who work in other provinces to return home to visit the festival during the holidays. On Saturday, there will be a procession of Nang Nais, which are beautifully organized. Inside the procession, there will be a procession and dancing. Some groups have large, beautifully decorated bang fai rockets, as this day is also a beauty contest for the procession and dance.

**Sunday will be the day of the rocket competition. The rules of the competition are that whoever's rocket stays in the sky the longest will receive the prize in order. This rocket competition activity follows the legend of Yasothon, which believes that the Naga Kankak in the sky is responsible for releasing rain to the world. Humans below therefore make rockets to point to the sky, like a signal to Naga Kankak that it should rain now. Villagers will be able to farm from the dry season that has passed.**

In addition to the skyrocket lighting activities, there is also a Mor Lam Sing troupe hired by the village to entertain the visitors. Let's take a look at the atmosphere of the event and see how much fun people are having.

Every year from May to June, there is a Bun Bang Fai festival in Yasothon province. The fun of this event may not be as enjoyable as it seems in the pictures. If you have the opportunity or are free during that time, I would like to invite everyone to try and experience this fun. Then you can come back and tell us about it. You can talk about the lifestyle of city people, eating, drinking, and traveling with Jui at...
