Helloooo... Greetings to all Readme.me readers! Today, I'd like to review Chanthaburi province and a legendary noodle shop. When it comes to Chanthaburi, many things come to mind: visiting Khao Khitchakut, Hat Chao Lao, Khao Soi Dao Waterfall, the scenic viewpoint of Nang Phaya Hill, Ao Krathing Bay, etc. The other day, I had the chance to visit Chanthaburi, so I looked up information on what to eat there. This time, I wanted to choose a famous restaurant that wasn't too expensive. In the end, I decided on "Aun Pen Yen Ta Fo" (a lot of people have reviewed it already, haha).

This trip, my younger sibling went to work at Khao Soi Dao. We arrived at the restaurant around 12:45 p.m. It was almost afternoon, so we didn't expect there to be many people. But to our surprise, the restaurant was packed! Luckily, there was still a table available for our group of three. From the menu, we saw that the prices for the seafood yen ta fo, which includes crab and mantis shrimp, started at 80 baht for the regular size, 100 baht for the large size, and 200 baht for the special size. (The 200 baht option includes crab meat, crab claws, and one mantis shrimp with the shell removed.)

The dishes we ordered are as follows:
1. Cold noodle with crab, yellow noodles, soup 100 baht
2. Fish noodle, wide noodles, soup 50 baht
3. Cold noodle, soup 40 baht
The water here is free!!!

I'd recommend everyone to try the food for themselves to experience the taste, but personally, I found it edible even before adding any spices. Those who can't handle too much spice can eat it as it is without any additional seasoning. From what I gathered from the locals, the current generation running the shop is the owner's children, as เจ้เพ็ญ has passed away. Some say the food isn't as delicious as it was when เจ้เพ็ญ was still alive, but I personally found it decent, although not exceptionally tasty. The waiting time for the food was quite long, but not excessively so. It could be due to the high number of customers at that time.

How is this restaurant? If you go and see it, do you want to stop by and eat? Can you tell me more about it? I must tell you first that the original shop of Auntie Pen is located in an ordinary single-storey shophouse with no air-conditioned rooms. Currently, the shop has expanded to the front of Wat Phailoem. Getting there is very easy. If you enter from Taksin Road, there will be a traffic light intersection. Drive into the road on the side where you see the archway of Wat Phailoem. Drive in and when you pass Wat Phailoem School on the right-hand side, turn left at the three-way intersection and drive along the temple fence. You will see Auntie Pen's Yen Ta Fo restaurant on the left-hand side. If you want to make it easier, open the GPS. This restaurant's map is not confusing. This is the end of the recommended food post. See you again next time….
