Hello fellow travelers, last weekend (February 20-22, 2016) I went to Koh Kood, Trat Province. I would like to share and take you all to soak up the beauty and romance together. You can stop by and chat at

This trip didn't go as I originally planned. I was supposed to go to other places, but oh well, it's already off track.
At first, I was a little nervous, and I decided to go to Koh Kood for only 3 days. I didn't have any information in my head at all. But I had a junior who worked on Koh Kood. He helped me find accommodation and book a round-trip boat. All I had to do was find a tour bus to take me to Trat and get myself to Laem Sok Pier. I asked my junior to make sure it was Laem Sok or Laem Ngop. It turned out to be Laem Sok... but I want to say that I was very impressed with Koh Kood.
...embark on a journey "to the easternmost tip of the Gulf of Thailand"
I traveled by bus from Mo Chit, round trip, for a total of 540 baht (the round trip bus ticket from the Bus Terminal is cheaper).
As I mentioned earlier, this was an unplanned trip. Booking a bus ticket was a bit of a gamble, as most buses were already full. But I was determined to go, so I booked a ticket for the 9:30 PM bus. (On the way back, I left Trat Bus Terminal at 1:30 PM and arrived in Bangkok around 8:00 PM.) You can book bus tickets online at http://www.busticket.in.th/
(You had to leave that early?) But hey, no bus, no trip! I dozed off and woke up in a flash. It was exactly 3:00 AM. "Passengers, please check your belongings. We have arrived at Trat Bus Terminal."
Drowsy, waiting and waiting
As we sat there, the songthaew driver kept calling out, "Anyone going to Koh Chang, Koh Mak, get on board!" Huh, why didn't anyone call out for Laem Ngop? Should we ask him, or is it a different route? Or maybe they'll stop by. We asked the driver nearby, and he said, "Did you inform the boat company? They usually come to pick you up if you're taking the 10:30 AM boat."
I scrolled through the chat I had with my younger brother to make sure what time the boat leaves. He confirmed, "8 am, brother. The boat leaves at Laem Sok at 8 am." He then said, "There's only one way. You have to hire a songthaew to Laem Sok for 400 baht. How many people are you with?" "One person," I replied. --- So I had to find someone to share the ride with. I asked around and found someone to share the cost. The fare was 350 baht (split between 3 people), which was okay. I got on the car at 4:30 am. After 20-30 minutes, I arrived at Tha Nang Phaya Pier, the point where tourists have to board the boat to Koh Kood. I arrived at 5 am, and it was still pitch dark. I went to sleep on a stone table in front of a shop. Around 7:40 am, we got on the car to go to the boat. Contact details of the boat company, Koh Kood Express http://www.kokutexpresstrat.com/
I recommend booking both ways. On the way back, I took the 10:00 AM ferry. When I arrived at Laem Sok, there was a car service to take me to the bus station. It was very convenient.
Journey to Koh Kood, the "Andaman of the Gulf of Thailand"
As I had purchased a ferry ticket, the ferry company informed me that the ferry was experiencing issues and that they would be transporting us via speedboat. The boat departed promptly at 8:00 AM and the journey took approximately one hour. Traveling solo, I struck up a conversation with the person seated next to me. Coincidentally, they were from the same university as me and even shared the same year code, although we were from different faculties. As a result, we were previously unacquainted. There were four of them in total. —With the permission of everyone in the photograph— We chatted and laughed, and before I knew it, we had arrived at Koh Kood.
Upon arrival, there will be a free shuttle service available. Just let them know which resort you're staying at and they will drop you off. "My accommodation is called Mark House Bungalow, located near Klong Jao Beach. I opted for a basic room, which essentially means a place to sleep for 800 baht. It's not exactly cheap or expensive. However, after seeing the room, I wouldn't mind paying 1000+ baht. The room is fantastic! (800 baht/night + breakfast)

As for motorbike rentals, I received a recommendation from the songthaew driver. The price is 300 baht per day (24 hours). You can contact P'Eak at 089-0153959. He provides excellent service and will deliver the motorbike to your resort.
Part 1: Exploring the beautiful beaches of Koh Kood
On this trip, I decided not to go diving. I came alone this time, so I wanted to take a leisurely motorbike ride and visit all the different places on the island. So, after I had settled into my room, I started my mission to conquer the beaches.
Khlong Chao Beach
Among all the beaches I've been to, Khlong Chao Beach is the longest and has the most resorts. It's not a private beach, so you can walk along the shore without worrying about the resort staff getting angry.
The beauty of this beach, in my opinion, lies in its endless stretch of sand and the fact that it is the most popular spot for tourists to swim.
A must-visit highlight is the breathtaking sunset view.
Evening yoga on the beach
Sunset Shot
Bang Boae Beach
When it comes to Koh Kood, the real landmark of the island and a memory for everyone is "the bridge that stretches out into the green sea". If you want to see this angle, you have to come to Bang Bao Beach. There are many resorts here and there will be a bridge for us to go down and take pictures without fear. Take pictures as you please. Bang Bao Beach is a beach with very clear water. But the disadvantage is that the beach area is shorter than other beaches. It may not be suitable for swimming, but it is suitable for taking beautiful pictures to show off to your friends. 55
Khlong Hin Beach
To be honest, no matter how good other beaches are, I personally like the atmosphere of Klong Hin Beach the most. The angle I took the picture from is a point that is halfway between the beach and offers a beautiful view of the curved beach. The sea is also blue and crystal clear. Plus, there are very few people on this beach, so it's not crowded. However, it might be a bit difficult to get to the beach, as it's quite far in.
Ao Phrao
Ao Phrao, no wonder why it's called Ao Phrao 5555 because look, there are so many coconut trees. I was even wondering if a coconut would fall on my head while I was walking, but I survived. The part of Ao Phrao where I came to take pictures was very quiet, there was no one around. But at the other end of the beach there is a resort, which must be quite lively.
Here is the translation:
Here we go again.
Oh, my aching back!
This beach is a private beach style, but they don't forbid people from coming in to take pictures. This beach is similar to Bang Baeng Beach, which means the beach is quite short and the slope is not very steep. If you want to swim, be careful because it looks deep from the eye.
Ao Tapao
This is the island's deep-sea port. I forgot to mention that when you arrive, the speedboat will take you to Salad Bay, but if you come by ferry, you will arrive at the deep-sea port of Ao Tapao. Ao Tapao is another place where I come to watch the sunset. Ao Tapao Beach has many resorts. This beach has a wide sandy area, making it ideal for relaxing, enjoying the breeze, admiring the view, and swimming in the sea.
Klong Mad Bay
Klong Mad Bay is a beach on the west coast of Koh Kood, located on the way to Klong Yai Kee Waterfall. The beach is situated near a canal that flows from the center of the island, similar to Klong Chao Beach (Klong Mad or Klong Chao are the names of the canals that flow into the sea, hence the name of the beach). I didn't actually intend to go to this beach, but when I did, it was beautiful. They built a new pier along the edge of the canal.
Ao Tum (Analay Resort)
The reason I have to write the name like this is because Ao Tum is not often seen on Koh Kood maps. However, it is located just a little beyond Ao Ngam Kho. It is another spot with a beautiful wooden bridge, as the bridge winds its way along the edge of the beach. This resort also allows you to take pictures and enjoy the sunset from a different angle.
Part 2: "Evening Activities for Tourists (Nighttime)"
I'd like to share that on the first night of my trip, I went to visit my younger brother who works on Koh Kood in the early evening. We sat and relaxed, chatting a bit, but the resort was very crowded with guests. We didn't really get to talk much, so I took some pictures of the resort where my brother works to share with you.
"I really wish I could just lie here, gaze at the sea, and watch the sunset for a month."
"Koh Kood Resort & The Deck Bar"
https://www.facebook.com/kohkoodresortofficial
Among the resorts I have visited, "Koh Kood Resort" at Bang Bao Beach is the one that I can say "I have arrived at Koh Kood". In front of the resort is a white sand beach, the sea water is clear and clean, with a comfortable blue color. The bridge stretches out to the middle of Bang Bao Bay, making it suitable for relaxation. Whether you come as a couple, alone, or with the whole family, it is suitable. The resort area is located at the end of Bang Bao Beach, not crowded and peaceful. Koh Kood Resort has been open for 10 years, you know. Tourists keep coming, who wouldn't want to stay in a good place?
The resort boasts "The Deck Bar," a premium bar serving guests, which is considered "a warm welcome to a luxurious stay" on Koh Kood. On this trip to visit my younger brother (who is the manager, wow), he asked, "What would you like to eat, brother?" I didn't want to disappoint him, so I said, "I'll eat anything you give me."
I drank a bottle of Corona beer with a ham pizza (I'm telling you, it was really delicious! If you go to Koh Kood Resort, don't forget to order this dish. I highly recommend it!!)
My junior is very hardworking and serves every guest with all his heart. 555 If you come to Koh Kood, you must stop by The Deck Bar Kohkood for food and drinks.
A bartender serves a polite lady tourist, making a special drink just for her. The drink looks very tempting, so she takes a picture... Goo tastes amazing!!!!!
Okay, let's continue. While I was still enjoying the resort's atmosphere, my younger brother told me, "Brother, after work tonight, I'll take you to a chill place near your accommodation." Around 9:00 PM, I excused myself and went back to my room to sleep. I felt like I had only slept for a short while (11:30 PM) when my phone rang. "Brother, wake up. I'll be waiting for you in front of your accommodation." My two younger brothers rode a motorcycle and I hopped on the back to go to the
Tawan Eco Bar (Klong Chao Beach): https://www.facebook.com/tawankohkood
The bar I went to that day was full of foreigners. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and participating in the reggae music, both Thai and international. The owner of the bar was the singer and also sold everything himself. It was a very indie bar, with a Westerner playing the drums and guitar (I wonder when they find the time to practice...lol, but it was fun). Plus, the prices weren't expensive at all. It was much cheaper than the bars on Khao San Road. During the time we were at the bar, we talked about our lives and listened to music. After a while, we went back. (Some of the pictures are from my phone.)
Chill Out Kohkood (Klong Chao Beach) : https://www.facebook.com/Chill-Out-Kohkood-502726503238238/
To make it easier to understand, let me tell you about the second night I spent on Koh Kood. After admiring the beauty of the beach and watching the sunset over the sea, I returned to my room to shower and then wandered around aimlessly. I ended up sitting down to enjoy three bottles of beer. The owner of the shop, whose name is Tee, was very friendly. I think he saw that I was alone, so he offered to be my companion at another bar with relaxing music, "Sergeant Toom Bar." Tee used to work in Bangkok, but he fell in love with Koh Kood and decided to stay here permanently. We talked a lot, and I learned a lot from him.
Jah thoom bar & Café (Klong Jao Beach): https://www.facebook.com/Jah-thoom-bar-Caf%C3%A9-1020614041315142/?fref=ts
This bar is fun. It's the most crowded bar I've ever been to, and they even have a full live band. It's awesome! I've been sitting here drinking and chatting since I left Chill Out, and I've had a few more drinks here. I'm just soaking up the good atmosphere, not knowing how long it will be before I come back to this bar again. As I sat there, I looked at the time and it was almost midnight. Tee told me that the sound is controlled here, and after midnight most bars close or stop playing music. So we went back (but I wonder why yesterday we went back at 1am and they were still singing 5555//thinking to myself).
Coming up next, the final part 3 "แนะนำถิ่น กินเที่ยว"
In this section, I would like to share some random tips and tricks that I think might be helpful for your trip to Koh Kood. These are just small ideas that I hope will give you some inspiration for your trip.
Cheap seafood source
Ao Yai is just a bay, there is no beach. It is a bay located on the west side of the island and is home to a large fishing community on Koh Kood. See the way of life of the villagers on Koh Kood. Houses are located on the clear green sea. If anyone wants to eat seafood, I recommend Ao Yai.
For coffee lovers, I recommend two places, but they are a bit different. Because one shop is a beautiful view shop by the sea, panoramic view "Sip and listen to the waves hit the sand" "Dusita Coffee Shop" Ask how cool it is, how cool it is called And the second shop is a mobile fresh coffee shop. I think it's a very cool shop. "Mobile Fresh Coffee Brother Thom"
Dusita Coffee Shop, Aow Ngao, Koh Kood. If you pass by and see the eye-catching sign, please come and have a coffee. Banana pancake is super delicious. If you are not satisfied, you can walk to eat by the clear blue sea. And I would like to say that "If you love cats, please come. Dusita Resort has 10 cats." They will slowly crawl over to play with customers. 55 It's so cute.
This menu is the most delicious. It is a popular menu of Dusit Thani Resort Afforgat Coffee & Banana Pancake (140 baht)
The mobile coffee shop, Pee Tum, was actually a coincidence. I left my accommodation, Mark House Bungalow, and felt like having a drink.
The weather was scorching hot, and I came across a motorcycle with a sidecar selling beverages. I decided to order an iced coffee. Yes, an "iced coffee." In my mind, I was just thinking of Nescafe or Thai iced coffee. The seller asked me, "Cappuccino, espresso, or something else?" I was confused and said, "Anything is fine." I took the opportunity to ask, "Is your coffee freshly brewed?" The seller then explained to me that the pot used to brew fresh coffee is called a "Moka Pot" and told me about the different methods. I found it to be a new and interesting experience for me - "mobile fresh coffee."
On Koh Kood, there are many other places that I didn't mention, such as Klong Chao Waterfall, Huai Nam Khieo Waterfall, and Klong Yai Kee Waterfall, which I didn't mention.
Because during the dry season, the water is a little low. There are large fig trees - giant makha trees, Khao Ruea Bo and other bays that cars cannot reach, including scuba diving.
But just this much, I'm very happy.
Finally, I also found good friendships on Koh Kood. Thank you Nong Tui & Nong Mack, the two younger brothers who took good care of me.
Thank you for the good rest time. "Thank you that I didn't go to Japan" 55555 Actually, I just postponed it (maybe).
Please come and record the story of a travel enthusiast with me.
