Dragon's Beard Candy, also known as Angel Hair Candy, at Texas Alley, Yaowarat

Dragon's Beard Candy is another auspicious Chinese dessert that has been around for over 1,000 years. I used to think it was just like sweet cotton candy, so I didn't choose to try it. But after reading the details carefully, it's worth a try. Dragon's Beard Candy is made from honey that is boiled and mixed with rice flour, corn, glutinous rice, and oatmeal. Importantly, no sugar is added. Then it is kneaded, stretched, and stretched again until the strands are very fine. Finally, it is wrapped with cashew nuts, peanuts, and white sesame seeds.

If you eat it right after it's done, the rice noodles will be a bit soft. When you bite into it, you'll find cashew nuts, peanuts, and white sesame seeds, which are crunchy and delicious together. However, the shop told me that if you keep it in the refrigerator, it will last longer and, more importantly, it will taste better. So I bought 3 boxes, ate one box right then, and brought the other two boxes back to try them chilled. It turned out that if you chill it, the rice noodles will be crispy. It's a bit tastier, due to the crispness and coolness. But the bad thing is that when you bite into it, it's like dust. I almost choked on it. But after the second and third bites, I started to adjust my rhythm and it got better.

It's delicious. It has become another favorite dessert menu because I personally like legumes. And most importantly, it's "not sweet".
