After a long hiatus due to work and school commitments, which are still quite demanding, I initially intended to complete this task immediately. However, I realized that it would take too long, and I didn't want to keep you waiting any longer. Therefore, I've decided to provide a shorter version for now.

After waking up early, I had breakfast at the hotel. The food was the usual bread, ham, cheese, orange juice, and apple juice. But the fun part about having breakfast here is that when you go to the buffet, there's nothing you want to eat, so you just grab whatever you want and put it on your plate. But the fun part is when you press the water dispenser. This morning, I forgot to bring my camera to take a picture, because there was only one water dispenser with three buttons. Each button was written in Icelandic, which was impossible to guess, so I had to try each one to see which one was what kind of water. I drank it and sat down to guess what kind of water it was. The last one, I'm not sure what it was, but I'm guessing it was either pear or pineapple. Okay, let's start packing up and get on the bus because we're only 5-10 minutes away from the meeting point. So I took it easy, but in the end, I arrived just in time because I was afraid that the bus would leave without me and I would miss the tour.
This is the parking area behind the gas station. There is an office clearly visible, indicating that this is definitely the starting point for the ice cave tour. Upon entering, we saw a group of about ten people already waiting for the tour. There were pictures of various caves displayed. Before arriving, I had sent an email inquiring about the possibility of photographing the cave. Initially, we paid a rental fee for shoes, but upon seeing the shoes, we realized they were similar to our own, so we canceled the rental. The rental fee was refunded in the form of 1500 Icelandic króna. We then sat down to clean our camera lenses while waiting for the tour vehicle. The vehicle was a large truck with big wheels. The ride was quite bumpy and rough, making us feel a bit dizzy. We ended up falling asleep during the journey. It took almost an hour to reach the starting point.
Seeing the sunlight like this, we are excited to see if we will be able to see the blue ice clearly, as the color is caused by the sunlight shining down.
This place feels like another planet.
As soon as we got off the car, they started distributing weapons for this trip. I was in the white car, and there were two of us in the tour.
Bang........... Our weapon looks like this. This one is free, included in the tour price, no need to rent extra. At first, I was going to use the one I always use, but this one is much better, like a different story.
The moment I put it on, I wanted to throw away the one I was using immediately because it's on a whole different level when walking on ice. This one sticks like glue. The suit I'm using has a hood and straps because I have to traverse the edge of the mountain and I'm attached to a winch for safety.
With our equipment ready, we began our journey.
This is our guide, he came with his son to guide us. He told us that we couldn't get there by car because the bridge was broken and the road was closed due to flooding. Oh my, how dangerous could it be? After a while, he showed us a picture on his phone and asked if we could see the spot. It was the point where the ice cave extended to, but it shrinks every year. However, some years it is longer, but it has to be during a certain period. But in the last 5 years, the distance has become shorter, so we have to walk further to see the ice cave.
After walking for a while, we came across another tour group that was about to leave.
This is the cave that I wanted to go into, but they said it's dangerous now because it might collapse. They didn't take me to see this water cave. They said they know the entrance, but don't sneak in on your own. Because if it collapses, you will definitely die. It's very heavy. The helmet I'm wearing wouldn't be able to protect me. Kids, read this and remember it.
The path started to get steeper after a while of flat walking. The view from above is beautiful, but it's tiring. The cold weather started to warm me up, and I took off my scarf because I started to feel hot.
After walking for a while, I came across an ancient civilization that had been abandoned. Human butterflies, who like to do this pose when they sleep in the snow.
Starting to enter the real path, there is a little sling attached.
Do you see the orange head across the street? That's where we're going. That's another tour group.
There is a wooden bridge over the water that gives you a little thrill.
Before entering the real cave, there is a small climb.
Upon reaching the spot, it was a bit less grand than I had imagined, but it was still beautiful. During my tour, there were quite a few photographers, four tripods in total. I was wondering where to take the best shot. They told me not to cross to the other side because it was dangerous. The rock that was actually standing to take pictures was very small and slippery. Be careful when taking pictures.
In the cave, they will let us take pictures for a long time, but the problem is that there are other people around, which makes it difficult to take pictures.
After a while, it will start to become an exit.
There's another one here, but I haven't checked it out.
From this angle, it really looks like Mars. On the way back, I walked and talked with some of the people who came on the trip, some Japanese and some French tourists.
Before officially closing our tour guide,
Back to the car, I took a picture of the license plate.
The sun was setting as we got off the bus, so we didn't have time to say goodbye. Everyone went their separate ways, following the paths they had planned.
I was originally going to drive back to catch the sunset at the frozen sea (which isn't very big), but when I looked at the sky, I knew I wouldn't make it in time.
I was only able to take photos on the road according to the new map. When I returned to the trail, I looked at the clouds to see where they were open. It turned out that there was a small opening at midnight near the town of Vik, so I decided to sleep there first and wake up at 11pm. Then I saw that there was a church on the hill where people had taken pictures of the Northern Lights, so I decided to use that as the foreground. But I was running low on gas, so I quickly filled up before going down to eat. The wind was so strong that we had to walk backwards. After a while, I went up the hill and the car park was full. It turned out that they were having a fireworks display. By the time I set up my camera, the fireworks were over and the cars were leaving. Great.
Around midnight, I woke up and tried to set up the camera to take a picture, but I couldn't see anything.
After a while, I turned around and saw the Northern Lights, so I quickly drove over and parked to take some photos.
After watching the aurora borealis dance for a while, I thought that this city has mountains blocking the view. I should have a better chance of seeing it in its entirety. So, after a while, I packed up and drove back along the road. It was almost one or two o'clock in the morning, and I drove and parked as I went.
