Today, I'm bringing you a review of food and (small) tourist attractions in Chiang Mai province.
I can't remember how many times we've been to Chiang Mai, but every time we get lost. We get lost everywhere, outside the city, inside the city, we get lost everywhere. This time, our main goal was Doi Inthanon, so this review will only feature one tourist attraction, which is... Doi Inthanon. Everything else is just food.
Food story 1
Starting the first meal when visiting Chiang Mai with "Khao Soi Samoei Restaurant". I come here regularly, but mostly stop by on the way back. This time, I started with Khao Soi, Khanom Jeen Nam Ngiao and Som Tam Poo, the familiar flavors.
After finishing our meal, we traveled to our first accommodation, preparing to ascend the mountain. The accommodation we booked was located on the way up, quite a distance from the summit (actually, quite a long distance). I have already reviewed the accommodation in a previous post.

It took us a long time to get lost, and by the time we reached the accommodation, it was dinner time.
Food story 2
On the second day, due to the rather dark entrance and exit of the accommodation, plus laziness, I tried the food from the accommodation. The food was delicious. It is recommended that during the festival season, you order food and inform the staff of the time you will be eating when you check in. This is because when the guests come down together, the food will be a little slow, otherwise you will be angry and hungry.
Menu ordered: Northern Thai chili dip set with blanched vegetables
Clear seaweed soup with minced pork
Stir-fried mixed vegetables This menu, I ordered two plates. The vegetables are fresh, crispy, and delicious.
Three-flavored fish (I can't remember the menu name anymore)
Trip 1 (There is only one story, I don't know why I put a number)
We set off at five in the morning. The accommodation was very kind and prepared a boxed breakfast for us. My friend said that it was hung on the door of our room before four in the morning.
The top is crowded with cars. It's a good thing we rented a car with a driver because we wouldn't be able to park and we wouldn't know how to turn the car around in the middle of the mountain.
(I wonder when they started coming here.)
Captured a glimpse of the sunrise. It was so cold that I could barely hold the camera.
Let's find something warm to eat to beat the cold (back to food again).
There is a large shop in the parking lot. It has all the hot drinks you could want, including rice soup, tea, coffee, and Ovaltine.
After that, we went on a hiking mission to Kew Mae Pan (opening-closing time: 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM).
The distance is not far, but it takes a long time. The temperature in the morning was 6 degrees Celsius.
The officers will organize tourists into groups of about 10 people. Each group will have a local guide who will provide information along the way. If you have been here before, you can ask if you need a guide. The guide said:
“No way. If you get lost or faint, no one will see you. You could die in the forest.”
Oh... this is real, don't play around.
We started walking before the sun had fully risen, and by the time it began to get dim, the cold that had been with us since dawn had turned into heat as we walked.
For the guide fee, an initial payment of 200 baht per group is required. If you wish to give an additional tip to the guides, you may do so at your discretion.
No fog, a little pity.
Arriving at the corner of Maha Prachachon
We keep moving forward.
After a while, I came across a thousand-year-old rose. The camera wasn't good, or the photographer wasn't skilled, so this is all I could capture.
The view is really good. It's tiring, but if I have the chance, I'll come back and walk again.
After leaving Kew Mae Pan, we stopped to pay respects at Phra That Naphonphumisiri.
Descended from Doi Inthanon almost at noon
I planned to have lunch at the Royal Project, but when I called, I was told that the queue would be long until two o'clock in the afternoon. That means I might not even be able to eat by two o'clock, so I decided to skip lunch. I visited a waterfall for a bit (I was hungry, but there was nothing I could do about it).
After checking out of the accommodation, we went on a hunt for food. This is the third food story.
Our destination is Hang Dong. Our second accommodation is nearby. We stopped for a late afternoon meal (around 3 pm).
At "Baan Dong View Doi" restaurant, the GPS coordinates are: 18.784159, 98.842333. Be aware that the road leading up to the restaurant is very steep.
I arrived at the restaurant at almost 3 pm. Some of the food was already sold out, so I couldn't eat some of the dishes I wanted. But overall, the taste was good. The view was nice.
The climb is a bit steep, making me feel a little nervous.
Dishes ordered: Stir-fried king oyster mushrooms with sweet peas and shrimp roe. The taste is good, not too greasy from the shrimp roe. It was gone in a flash.
Crispy fried egg, this is the normal taste of fried egg.
A clear tom yum soup with a spicy and sour taste that will wake you up.
The Thai papaya salad was a bit bland and lacked flavor.
Grilled pork salad
Story of eating 4
After finishing our afternoon meal, we checked into our accommodation. It was located near the restaurant that I previously reviewed.
And our 4th meal is in this accommodation. This meal is the most expensive, the most food, the food is delicious and worth the price. But I confess that I can't remember the name of the menu, haha. I'll read the bill, it's just an abbreviation. It's starting to get difficult.
Order food in a mix and match style
As soon as I ordered, I got a plate of various breads to play with before the meal.
Followed by a flavorful mushroom soup.
Start mixing the menu with a set of spicy but delicious young chili paste, delicious stuffed sausage, and excellent pork sausage.
Spaghetti stir-fried with something (why do they like to name dishes so long?) delicious
What does the salmon panang curry taste like? This dish tastes just like that, but with salmon instead of pork.
Baked scallops with cheese. Large scallops, lots of cheese. It looks like there are ten scallops per dish.
The last menu is not called, but it is potato, apple, tomato, coated in flour.
Summary of the 5th episode of "Rolling Back to the Room" about food.
On the last day of our trip, we stayed in the city center. I have already reviewed the accommodation.

Briefly pay respects at the small Doi Suthep Pagoda.
After making merit, it's time to eat. Eat at 5 in the city center.
With "Kway Teow Kham Wan Restaurant", paste the GPS as usual :: 18.785798, 99.005164 You can park on the side of the road, but there are signs prohibiting parking at certain times. For safety, there is a private parking lot a little further down the road. It costs 20 baht, but it's more convenient.
The original intention was to have a light meal, a single dish, because I was going to the walking street and would probably eat a lot more. But in the end, I didn't just have a light meal, huh?
Dry and soup noodles, one bowl each. The soup is delicious, the pork is tender, and the noodles are chewy.
There is a good selection of snacks available.
Ordered 3 dishes (I was going to eat less) fried dumplings, pork toast and apple salad with grilled pork.
And finally, wasabi ice cream. De-li-cious! De-li-cious!
We ended our trip at the walking street. We still stopped to eat a little. For anyone who wants to find a restaurant to eat at the walking street, I recommend having a snack from somewhere else first. Then walk around and look at the shops until the end of the street. You'll be hungry just in time. At the end, there will be open-air restaurants to choose from. If you start at the beginning of the alley, it will be very crowded and you'll feel like you're fighting for food.
