'Immerse'

There is no better word to describe my current state of mind.

I am enjoying lying down and gazing at the night sky in the cold weather.

At the campsite on the edge of the cliff of the Nam Khang Headwaters Management Unit, or simply called 'Doi Wao'.

Which is located in Nan Thuri National Park, Tha Wang Pha District, Nan Province.

The sky tonight is so beautiful, the stars are twinkling brightly. Sipping on a cold beer, interspersed with hilarious conversations with friends.

It's truly a happy moment on this journey.

It wasn't easy for us to get to where we are today.

If we rewind to midday, the atmosphere was completely different.

"A Vios can make it up there."

My friend sent me this message on Line while I was asking for information about planning a trip to Nan province.

'Doi Wao' is one of the places my friend recommended me to visit. Not only does it offer stunning views,

but it's also not as crowded with tourists as Doi Samer Dao.

This is probably due to the more challenging journey, as the information I found says the last stretch of the road is a 4-kilometer dirt track up the mountain.

But if a Vios can make it up there, my SUV, even though it's not a four-wheel drive, shouldn't have any problems.

Unfortunately, it seems like it rained last night, making the road leading up to the park headquarters quite damp and muddy.

Some sections have deep mud, about half a shin deep, while others are quite steep, requiring some driving skills to navigate.

It felt like we had just escaped death by the time we managed to climb up to the headquarters!

I had just gotten out of the car to stretch my legs and was still feeling a bit excited when my friend came up to me and said,

"This isn't Doi Wao yet!"

Oh my god! The office area is the viewpoint for Doi Pha Chi Pha Chang, and Doi Wao is another 1 kilometer up!

I confessed to my friend that I wanted to pitch my tent here and not go any further.

Because the officer said that if we go up, we have to go back down the steep slope that we almost didn't make it up earlier.

Then we will encounter a difficult problem at the intersection, which is narrow and we have to make a sharp turn uphill.

"It's up to you, but if it were me, I would go on," my friend said before I told everyone to get in the car.

Yes, we have to go all the way!

As the night deepens, the dew begins to fall heavily, but I still don't want to get up and go anywhere. I still want to immerse myself in the atmosphere of Doi Wao.

It's like a reward for victory. If I had given up then, I would have felt like a loser forever.

A person's life can change in a split second. It all depends on whether we choose to fight or not.

And the value of victory, no matter how big or small, is not measured by the final prize.

It's like people who like to look at successful people only at the highest point they stand.

But if you look back at the path they climbed, you will feel the great value of that success.

How many people at this moment can see Doi Wao as magnificent and beautiful as I do?

The Path of Little I-Fai to Doi Wao

Before climbing Doi Wao, it is necessary to prepare your own provisions, as there are no shops or restaurants in the park. However, there are convenient restrooms.

(You can take a cold shower, there is no hot water heater)

I stopped to buy provisions at Tha Wang Pha district office, then drove north towards Song Kwae district on Highway 1148 for about 2 kilometers.

Then I turned left onto Highway 1082 and drove uphill for about 27 kilometers. Then I turned right following the sign to the entrance of Nant Buri National Park, which is another 4 kilometers of gravel road.

From the park office, drive another 1 kilometer to reach Doi Wao.

During the rainy season, a four-wheel drive vehicle is required. However, during the dry season, a Vios car can actually be driven up (my friend didn't lie, I'm sorry I scolded him a lot!)
