• Relaxing Getaway in Krabi.... Ngum Ngam Tour Style

    March 12-14, 2016

This trip was born from the intention of inviting 16 friends to travel together. Our destination was "Koh Kood, Trat Province".

Some took a vacation, some sneaked away from their boss, some sneaked away from their boyfriend, but in the end, they all came together to have a good time.

I apologize for any shortcomings in my first review.

1. Let's start with the journey from Bangkok to Laem Sok Pier.

We chose to use the Boonsiri Ferry service (booking both the car from Bangkok and the ferry to Koh Kood).

The pick-up point will be at Street Hotel on Khao San Road. We will meet at 5:00 AM. (It's so early, I can barely sleep... I'm excited and afraid of missing the bus.)

As our group is large, the Boonsiri Ferry has arranged a bus for us. (I heard that if there are fewer people, they also offer a VIP van service.)

According to the appointment time, the car will leave at 5:30 AM. The wheels are rolling. Everyone is silent and continues to sleep... Good night everyone.

I woke up around 8 am. The bus stopped and let us go to 7-11. We were given 10 minutes (oh my, 10 minutes is not enough for 7-11).

Around 11.00 am, I arrived at Laem Sok Pier. I thought I would have some time to take some chill photos at the pier, but oh no! I had to hurry to unload the goods.

We continued to board the ship with our luggage and hurried to find seats. But alas, it was completely full.

(I overheard that they let people board the ship at 10:45 AM. So, we're late, right? But it's okay, we still made it.)

2. The atmosphere on board the Boonsiri Ferry (Photos are from the return trip, as I arrived early and asked permission to take photos)

The Boonsiri Ferry has 2 floors, air-conditioned, and can accommodate 200 passengers. (There is a sign on the side of the boat.)

And there are life jackets available. On the way there, we didn't sit at all. We stood to keep our friends who were seasick company, as the waves were quite rough on the way there.

I went to stand and enjoy the beautiful breeze for about 1 hour and 20 minutes (approximately). Normally, it takes about 1 hour to reach Ao Salad. I guess the waves and wind were strong today, so it took a little longer.

** This picture shows the boat taking passengers to Koh Mak. **

Standing beautifully on the 2nd floor of the ship, is it hot? The answer is very hot, but the wind is cool.

The foreigner on the boat is handsome, isn't he? He's standing at the back of the boat feeding the fish. 555 In the end, I threw up. I got seasick.

3. When traveling to Ao Salad, everyone is responsible for their own bags. Then walk to the resort car.

This is a "songthaew", a type of public transportation in Thailand. It can accommodate around 8-10 people. Please keep your belongings organized.

It took about 30 minutes to get to the resort where we were staying. We were all a bit tipsy from the boat ride, still feeling the effects of the waves.

4. Our accommodation for this trip is Jungle Kohkood Resort.

More details here. Check it out http://junglekohkoodresort.com/

This resort is not by the sea, but it's okay. It's like we're staying in the middle of the forest. The resort staff said that the weather will be cool at night. It might be hot during the day. Let's see what kind of room we're staying in.

We stayed in a Small Room (very compact indeed) which was about 11 square meters. (It's like a room in Japan, hehe)

The room has air conditioning and a fan.

** Photo of the front of the room **

** Single bed please **

** Single bed, please. **

** Two beds please. **

** Bathroom - with water heater **

You can see that the end of the bed is not far from the bathroom. (Compact room, hehe)

** The bathroom sink is made of wood. However, there is no mirror in the bathroom. **

5. Surrounding atmosphere of Jungle Kohkood Resort

In our personal opinion, we think it's a creatively designed resort, from the name of the resort to the overall atmosphere of the resort, including the individual houses and the various amenities (which may not be as complete as other resorts, but it's okay). It's suitable for relaxation, lying down, eating, sleeping, eating, sleeping, hehe.

** Lobby of the resort **

** Open Air Restaurant, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. **

** The restaurant is located next to the swimming pool. The swimming pool is located in the center of the resort. **

** The shared bathroom is divided into male and female sections. It is located near the Open Air dining area. **

** The walkway to the Small Room accommodation is a long wooden bridge that blends in with the trees and the surrounding atmosphere of the resort. **

** The pool looks so fun! 1 2 3 Let's go! **

6. Let's move on to the activities. Let's see what we can do if we come to Koh Kood.

Note: However, the day we went diving, we didn't see many fish. I guess the fish were on vacation. But just being in the sea was amazing.

We traveled by boat from Jungle Koh Kood Resort, which is a self-built wooden boat (according to the boat driver).

The boat can accommodate about 40 people, but there were only 16 of us, so we were able to relax and enjoy the ride without any other customers.

(Because the other customers had already left, I forgot to mention that we went on a trip from Saturday to Monday. We chose to go diving on Sunday.)

It takes about 3 hours to travel to the diving site. We leave at 9:00 am and return to the resort at 12:00 pm for lunch.

As the sun began to set, we went kayaking on the cool river. The banks were lined with mangrove forests, creating a romantic atmosphere.

We rented 2 kayaks for 150 baht per hour. The resort arranged to put the kayaks on the car, and then put the car on the boat.

We loaded the boat onto the resort's truck and drove to a canal (I don't remember the name of the canal), which connects to the sea. The drive took about 10 minutes.

The resort also offers motorbike rentals for 400 baht per bike, including 1 liter of free fuel. (This price is for a 24-hour rental.)

Bicycles are also available for rent, but we did not ask for the price.

7. An army marches on its stomach. Now that we're talking, let's see what we're munching on.

Looking at the pictures makes me hungry. Let me swallow my saliva for a moment.

** Breakfast Buffet **

** Lunch set, please. **

** I love this dish the most. The chili paste, boiled vegetables, and sweet vegetables are very crispy. Oh, I forgot to mention that the resort grows its own vegetables.

And bring vegetables to cook for customers to eat. .... Very impressed.

Please continue.

** Dinner please, same set as usual. **

Note: There aren't many pictures because my friends would have eaten everything before I could take them. Here are the ones I managed to capture.

The shrimp, shellfish, crab, and fish were all very fresh. The taste was sweet and delicious. As for the crab, each person got one. The dipping sauce was super spicy.

8. Let's take a look at the 16 members of the Ngum Ngam Tour.

9. Travel expenses

We opted for the 3-day, 2-night package (traveling Saturday-Monday) as it offered a more intimate experience with fewer crowds. The price was 4,700 baht per person.

** The cost of the bus from Bangkok - Laem Sok Pier - Bangkok is 700 baht per person. The pick-up point is on Khao San Road. ***

*** Total expenses per person is 5,400 baht. 😀😀😀
