There are many cities in Vietnam that we love, and one of them is "Da Lat City".
"Da Lat", the city of eternal spring. The clear sky, the breeze, the flowers, the lake in the heart of the city, the cool air, the nature, the mountains and rivers, and the way of life of the people are all elements of this place. Da Lat is located in the south of Vietnam, within a valley on a plateau, about 1,500 meters above sea level. This makes the weather cool all year round, with an average temperature of 15-20 degrees Celsius. This is why Da Lat is full of flowers. Da Lat was a resort town during the French occupation of Vietnam, so most of the architecture has a European feel. Some call it the Paris of the East, while others call it the land of eternal spring. Flowers bloom all year round, and this charm attracts tourists all the time.
--- Dalat in the morning ---
We left Ho Chi Minh City around 11:30 pm and it took about 5-6 hours to get to Dalat. The bus dropped us off in the early morning and the cold air welcomed us. The bus station is located outside the city center, but the bus company we used offered a free shuttle service to the city center. We asked them to drop us off near the market and then walked around to find a place to stay. Apart from the market area, the city center was very quiet in the morning. The weather was also very nice, cool and sometimes even a bit cold. It felt so good, it made us enjoy walking around.
[ A quiet morning atmosphere ]
After finding accommodation, we had lunch and took a long nap. In the late morning, we started to get to know Dalat better. We had one day here, but it would have been nice to have more time. We rented a motorbike from the guesthouse, spread out a map, and started our journey. It was quite an adjustment to ride a motorbike here because there were so many cars and we had to drive on the right lane. Let's just say that after driving a motorbike here, you've leveled up. (There are a lot of accommodations here and the prices are very cheap, you can easily find them by walking around. And the accommodations also offer car and tour rentals, which is convenient and the prices are okay.)
[ A city of spring indeed ]
Fell in love with this city, just the first touch, the atmosphere is perfect.
About 5 kilometers outside the city, heading back towards the bus station where we arrived this morning, you will find "Dalanta Waterfall", a small but beautiful waterfall. You can either walk down to the waterfall below, or take a funicular ride. The latter is a lot of fun and definitely worth trying. On the way back, you can take the same route and enjoy the scenery along the way. The price is also very reasonable.

From Dalat Waterfall, we went back to Dalat city to take the cable car. We could see the view of Dalat city from here. The destination of the cable car was "Truc Lam Pagoda". The view from the cable car was amazing, and the weather was perfect.

At the end of the cable car ride, we will find two temples located close to each other, if I remember correctly. They are **Truc Lam Pagoda** and **Thien Vuong Pagoda**. They resemble Chinese temples, and the interiors are peaceful and lush, with large trees and flowers everywhere. It's a great place to relax and enjoy the scenery.

Another must-visit place in Da Lat is the Da Lat Railway Station, located on the outskirts of the city. This small station is full of charm and historical traces. It is said to be the oldest railway station in Vietnam, with a steam locomotive parked prominently inside. More importantly, there is a short tourist train that runs back and forth, allowing tourists to enjoy the scenery between the cities.

And then we arrived at the "Chicken Church" Dalat Cathedral, located in the city center of Dalat, just a short walk uphill. It is the largest church in the city. It is called the Chicken Church because there is a statue of a chicken on top of the church. When we arrived, the church doors were open and people were starting to sit down to quiet their minds in the church. They were sitting quietly, and the atmosphere inside was truly peaceful.

"Happiness at Swan Lake"
As the day draws to a close in Da Lat, we ride our motorbikes around Xuan Huong Lake, the heart of the city. In the cool evening air, we feel the romance of this city. This is a time for families, for lovers, and for happiness. The images we see tell us that. We love this time, right now, at this lake.
The atmosphere by the lakeside is quite chilly as the evening falls. We sat watching people enjoying their evening activities. Parents brought their children to play, some cycling, skateboarding, and many other activities. There are rentals available for everything here. Everyone seems to be having fun. Some people even come here for a picnic dinner. The people of Dalat seem to be happy with their lives here.

Street Food, wherever you find it, you have to stop and eat it.
The food section of the market is also full of options. We love Vietnamese street food, it's all worth trying. Don't miss it, sitting by the side of the road is the best atmosphere. There are almost everywhere, coffee shops are the same.
( If I remember correctly, this should be a statue of the person who explored and pioneered the founding of Dalat City. It is located in the park by the lake. )
Two days and one night in Dalat may not be enough, but if we have the chance, we will visit again. Just being here, doing nothing, we can feel the romance of this city. The city of eternal spring, "Dalat", Vietnam.
- To travel to Da Lat city, there are tour buses from Ho Chi Minh City that take about 6 hours. You can find them in the Ben Thanh Market area, near Pham Ngu Lao Street, which is a popular area for tours, accommodation, and restaurants.
