Hello everyone, welcome back to the couple's travel tour. Today we will visit a familiar place that we have been visiting for 3 consecutive years. Because we haven't seen the sea of fog in full yet, we have to go again and go there. 555 Next, there's nothing much. Short trip, 2 days 2 nights, leaving the first night on Friday night to Khao Kho and then sleeping on Saturday night at Phu Thap Boek. That's the end of the mission. Let's see what kind of fog we will see this time. This trip was on September 19-20, 2015. It's a budget-friendly trip. This time, it cost 1,400 baht per person. This is my car. The other brother's car should have gas costs that are divided by only 2 people. My car has 5 people but is divided by 4. The other younger brother is still studying. There is a summary of expenses at the end of the story.

The footage was captured using a Nikon D5300 camera with an 18-140 lens and a GoPro Hero 4 Silver. However, I now primarily use the GoPro for video recording, with the occasional still photo. For this trip, I brought along a new toy - a drone - to capture some aerial footage with the GoPro attached. However, as I'm still a novice at flying drones, it proved quite challenging and I barely managed to get any footage. There's just a brief glimpse of it at the beginning of the clip.

In the meantime, you can watch the clip first. I'm just learning to do it, so my hands are not steady. And there's a problem with the editing program, there's a black border and it's not full screen. Press HD.

We left Bangkok around 11pm, two cars in total. It rained the whole way, non-stop, from Bangkok to Khao Kho. It only stopped raining for less than 10 minutes. We drove up the mountain through the rain and fog at around 4am. Visibility was only about 50 meters, but luckily I had been there twice before so I wasn't worried. The road up Khao Kho isn't that steep, so it wasn't scary. Our first stop was to watch the sunrise at Wat Kong Niam. As soon as we arrived, the rain stopped at around 5am, so we took a nap and waited for the sun to rise.

It's a pity that I thought there would be more people here. It rained all night, but it's still beautiful. I saw that there wasn't much fog, so I changed my mind and drove to the viewpoint of Khao Kho.

It's around 6:00 AM and the fog is still far away. Let's take a look at the fellow travelers.

Then drive a little further to Khao Kho Post Office. I feel like the fog is coming in a little further.

We took photos and drove around the area. The viewpoint and the Khao Kho post office were almost 8 o'clock. The fog was getting closer and closer. We were able to take some clear photos, like this one.

Zoom in, zoom in, zoom in.

I'm glad this trip wasn't in vain. It wasn't much, but it was better than any other year. As for the others, it was everyone's first time and they loved it. My girlfriend and I had been here before.

This is the vehicle that takes us on trips all over Thailand. It's a bit dirty, but it gets the job done. The car on the right belongs to my friend who came along with me.

Another angle of the Khao Kho Post Office. Everyone seems to love this chair.

The most beautiful in the team

Three sisters.

After enjoying the morning mist, we will continue our journey to the currently popular coffee shop, Pino Latte.

For those who don't know, from Khao Kho, drive down to Wat Pha Sorn Kaew. Enter the alley at the PT gas station, there is a sign. Drive about 4 km and you will arrive. It's easy to get to, near Wat Pha Sorn Kaew.

We arrived around 9 am. The fog was still rolling in and out, and the sky was opening and closing the whole time we were at the coffee shop. There were a lot of beautiful angles, so we just took photos as we pleased.

The sun is strong, it hurts my eyes. I don't know if it's because I'm tired or because I've been driving all night.

They took photos at any beautiful angle they could find.

Walk up to the 2nd floor and sit and wait for a delicious coffee.

Come down and take a picture of the wood below.

Got my coffee, sitting by the rim, sipping the coffee, enjoying the view, the cool breeze blowing through. Oops, not coffee, cocoa!

Okay, the sky is open for 20 seconds. Shoot!

It takes less than 5 minutes from the shop to Wat Pha Sorn Kaew. The view along the way is very beautiful. Please ask for a car with a partner.

Before reaching the temple, we suddenly met a red-haired girl giving out lucky charms. I'd like to ask for a bottle, I'm starting to feel sleepy.

I visit Wat Pha Sorn Kaew every year. This year, the construction is complete, but it is not yet open to the public. It seems that only the interior is left. I could only take pictures from outside.

I was starting to get tired, so I didn't walk any further. Since I had been here before, I let the rest of the group who had never been here before walk around and take pictures.

It's time to continue our journey. Next, we will be heading to Phu Thap Boek.

Before reaching Phetchabun, he told me to eat fresh rice noodles. I don't know which shop is the best, but I've been eating at this shop for two years. It's located at the intersection of the road up to Phu Thap Boek. I think the name is Sriwilas or Phuwilay, something like that. I forgot. Hehe. Four types of curry and vegetables are free, the rest are charged for rice noodles. The taste is good, or maybe there are better ones.

After we were full, we went up to Tup Berg for a while, and it didn't take long to get there. Everyone must know what the road is like. It's really steep for only 13 kilometers. New and old cars can come with a 1200 engine, which is comfortable. I saw a lot of them. If you don't dare yet, try it. I sat 5 people up comfortably. But some sections are really steep, so I had to use 1st gear to pull it up, but it kept going. Don't rush. Cars with low CC shouldn't be strained. You have to let it climb slowly. There's no problem for sure. This time I stayed at Phu Karn Garden Resort. I booked 3 rooms at the end in advance. When I booked, it was 1,000 baht during the rainy season. Now, the price must have gone up. Check the price.

This is a picture in the room.

Bathroom

After checking in, I took a breath of fresh air. Later, I will go for a walk around. This time, I am glad that the sky is clearer than ever, and I can see the view far away.

Direct view from the room

Could you please take a look at the top of the highest point?

The cool breeze wasn't quite cold, the atmosphere was great. The day I went, there were a lot of tents. At night, it must have been quite noisy. The accommodation was fully booked that day.

Back at the accommodation, I was originally going to sleep, but I don't know what I ate that made me so energetic. Since last night, I've been driving and only napped for less than an hour at Wat Kong Niam. I walked around, and at 5 pm, I ordered two hotpots to eat. At first, we were sitting outside chilling, but then it started to rain, so we had to move to the hut at the end of the rice field.

Sitting and eating grilled pork in a hut while the rain pours down, the cool wind blows, and sipping on a light alcoholic beverage. It's so good!

After dinner, let's try taking photos of the night lights on Phu Thap Boek.

At first I wanted to take a picture of the Milky Way, but I didn't know how to do it, so I only got some faint stars.

In summary, we drank and enjoyed the atmosphere until after 11 pm before going to bed. The weather was very cool, and I had a good dream that night.

I woke up this morning with a slight headache, but I had to jump out of bed to see the sea of fog. And today, I finally found it on Phu Thap Berk. It was a bit far away and not as impressive as I had hoped, but that's okay. Even this small glimpse was enough to make me happy. Let's take a look at the pictures.

A distant view of Wat Pa Phu Thap Boek

We arrived at the highest point. There was a lot of fog, but the light was strong and it was difficult to take pictures.

Is it beautiful?

Then I walked back to the room to have free breakfast porridge in the morning, which is included in the room rate. The fog is clearer than before.

After finishing my meal, I went for a walk near my accommodation. Today, I'm not in a hurry, so I'm planning to spend the whole morning here. As I sat and walked around, the fog started to roll in again. Around 8 or 9 am, the fog was thick and covered everything.

Those two must be having a great time.

The others are still tired and sleeping, so I invited my younger brother to take another photo together. We walked to the edge of the cliff.

Dense fog, but many people are rushing down.

I'd say that in the first year, the tents were in the middle. Now, the middle area is all accommodation. The zone from The Mong, Rai Rim Pha, Rim Pha, down. Now, to see this view, you have to walk all the way to the edge of the cliff.

Walking around, I came across a water jar. There was also a cabbage field where I could take pictures.

A cabbage farm but holding a lettuce. Huh, how come? 55 I saw it placed there for a photo, so I picked it up to pose. 555

Back at the accommodation, preparing to pack up and go home. The fog is still floating around, opening and closing all the time. It's so refreshing.

And then it was time for everyone to go back to their own duties. When there is a chance, I will probably go out and enjoy nature again.

Traveling around Thailand with Vios, on the way back, stopped by to eat grilled chicken at Wichit again, then drove back to Bangkok. Arrived home around 8 pm, just in time.

Summary of expenses

Fix 970

Oil 400

Accommodation for 2 rooms 2000

Food expenses are shared among 7 people for every meal.

First breakfast at Khao Kho 315

Lunchtime rice noodles 665

Pork for dinner 800

Sugarcane juice 165

Grilled chicken from Wichit on the way back, 90 baht per person.

I don't remember the cost of the liquor because I was drunk, but I bought soda with the leftover liquor at home and bought 8 bottles of beer. This was split between 4 people who drank it, so it shouldn't have been more than 200 baht.

In conclusion, after calculating everything, it turns out that the cost per person is no more than 1400 baht, including everything. This time it's even cheaper than the last time I came. I got a good deal on accommodation, it was really worth it this time. I'm thinking of coming back again next year during the rainy season. That's because Thung Salaeng Luang is very close compared to the faraway places I often travel to. It only takes a 5-hour drive to get there. If you've never been, you should try it at least once. But I don't recommend coming during a festival. There will be a lot of people and it won't be fun. Even now, during the rainy season, there are still a lot of people. During the winter, don't even think about it, it'll be packed like sardines.

Visiting Thailand is an experience you won't want to miss. If you have the chance, don't hesitate to go. Time waits for no one, so make the most of it and do the things you've always wanted to do.

See you again with the traveling couple. For today, goodbye.
