- Hello everyone! -

Back with another review today, this time we're reviewing a tourist destination in Thailand. And the province we visited this time was, uh, Grooเผ็ด... I mean, Phuket!

This trip, we had our mom tagging along with us, so there will be pictures of a certain lady in all of them, haha.

We traveled from May 13-15, 3 days 2 nights, staying on Koh Hey for 1 night and Patong for 1 night.

For this trip, we bought a package from a travel fair in March. We thought it was interesting, so we went for it!

At first, we didn't even know where Koh Hey was, but we saw a picture of it on a flyer at a travel event.

Okay, it's pretty good. Let's take this one. Let's go check it out first and then do some research before we go. Haha.

This time in Phuket, the sea is so clear, my mom is happy, and I am happy too. Yay!

Okay, let's get to the review.

Note: I will summarize the expenses at the end.

Day 1

We arrived at the airport around 05.30 am. This time we flew with Lion Air. There were no promotions at all, but the price was reasonable. We were happy with that.

Our flight, SL750, was originally scheduled to arrive at Phuket Airport at 8:00 AM. However, due to weather conditions, the flight was delayed and we arrived at Phuket Airport at 8:20 AM.

Okay, so we really need to hurry to catch the speed boat to Koh Hey, right? And the boat leaves at 9:30 AM. And the pier is almost an hour away from the airport, if there's no traffic.

I'm really worried that we won't make it to the boat on time. We booked a package deal, and the boat times are already set.

And with the spirit of Dominic Toretto from Fast & Furious, our driver, Mr. Sofer, got us to our destination on time. Whew!

However, we do not recommend doing what we did. It is actually better to stay in Phuket first and then go to the island in the morning.

Our trip had some problems because the agent who arranged it, named Trip, didn't tell us anything. He just arranged the whole trip for us. At first, we were like, "Oh, okay, that's nice and easy."

How was it? Almost fell off the boat. I'm so frustrated, but I have to thank the driver who called the boat for us and took us there on time.

Alright, after the exciting pee-pee, we finally boarded the speed boat from Ao Chalong Pier to Koh Hey. Yay!

After about 15 minutes, we arrived at Koh Hey, also known as Coral Island.

Koh Hey is a small island located about 10 kilometers off the coast of Phuket.

Easily accessible by both speedboats and long-tail boats.

This island is not far from the coast of Phuket, but the nature on the island is still very pristine. If you don't believe it, wait and see.

Upon arrival, we carried our luggage and checked in at the resort. There is only one resort on this island, called Coral Island Resort.

This is our room, a Beach Deluxe room with an extra bed as we are 3 people.

At the resort, we generate our own electricity, so there will be times when the electricity is turned off.

They will turn off the lights between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM, and again between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM.

When we arrived, the power was still out, so we had to wait and eat at the resort.

We ordered 3 dishes with 3 plates of rice, 1 coke and 2 bottles of water. It cost us 1230 baht in total. Wow, that's okay. It's not too expensive even though we're on an island.

The menu also has fish with chili sauce, which is delicious. I like it.

I forgot what this stir-fry is called, haha. Sweet and sour stir-fry? Yeah, that's it. The taste is pretty good.

Tom yum was just okay, a bit too sweet.

After eating, I went to take pictures in front of the beach where I was staying. It was beautiful. The water was clear and the color was blue. So beautiful.

How happy I am, ask my heart, you can see it, giggle.

After that, there weren't many activities at our accommodation. We mainly sat around enjoying the fresh air, admiring the view, and taking cool photos.

We saw information that there was another beach with more activities to do, called Banana Beach, so we decided to go there.

Uh, which way should I go? I'm so confused because the beach only goes as far as our resort, and there's no road. So I asked the resort staff.

Employee: Oh, Banana Beach? It's over there (pointing towards a pile of rocks). Just walk that way.

Gwen: Huh? That rock over there?

Employee: Yes, the water level is high right now. You have to climb over the rocks, and then there will be a small path along the beach. It will take about 15 minutes to get there.

And this is the picture they saw when the staff pointed it out.

Okay, here's the translation:

Alright, alright, here we are. Let's walk. Now we're standing on the rock that the staff pointed out to us.

From this rock, turn around and look back at the accommodation.

This is the path, it's really narrow, my goodness.

A 15-20 minute walk will take you to Banana Beach, a popular spot for relaxation. It feels like a private beach, as it's not very crowded.

There are many activities to do here. There is a snorkeling spot. You can rent snorkeling gear from the beach.

There's a banana boat shaped like a duckling. Mom said, "Take a picture of it."

There are actually many activities, including sea walking, where you have to wear a space helmet and walk under the sea.

There is also parasailing, but if you want to sit on the beach, beach chairs cost 100 baht per person, including the bathroom fee.

And what we really liked, this is it, the clear kayak. It was the first time we had ever seen it, and it was like the highlight of the place.

As the boat glides along, you'll see coral reefs and fish swimming playfully beneath the hull. It's a truly delightful experience.

This boat costs 800 baht per hour and can accommodate two people. However, there is only one paddle, so the person sitting like me can relax.

This picture, my mom took it, it's so cool, lol.

Back on shore, Mom asked to take a picture.

After finishing the paddle, I sat down and relaxed, taking pictures of the summer set with my mother.

Mom is happy, that's okay.

Okay, we took photos until we were satisfied, then we went to play in the water. When we went, the water was high, and just a little walk, it was almost up to our chests. But the water here is very clear.

And there are plenty of fish everywhere.

We had a lot of fun until it was time to go back. At Banana Beach, they only offer services until 5 pm. It is open for day trips only, no overnight stays.

As I mentioned earlier, the only accommodation on this island is the Coral Island Resort. The other tourists gradually boarded the boat back to Phuket, while we walked back to our accommodation.

For a day trip here, you can buy it from the Phuket coast. They will include the boat fare to the island, and there is also snorkeling, kayaking, free beach chairs and lunch. We asked the staff, the price can be checked. You can also try searching for Banana Beach.

As soon as we got back to the room, the evening electricity came on just in time. We showered, got dressed, and went to dinner. It was the same place we ate lunch, because it was the only place there, haha.

The evening atmosphere, the sun is about to set. This is so good, the sky color is beautiful, a real magic hour.

Tonight's menu is grilled seafood. We went to choose what we wanted. They have prices per gram listed, and they don't charge for cooking. They only charge for the weight of the food. We went all out, as usual.

In the midst of eating, I looked up and saw the sky like this. Wow! I dropped the shrimp in my hand, grabbed my camera, and ran to take a picture.

It's beautiful, isn't it? The atmosphere is great, and there aren't many people. We really like it. We think if you like to relax in a quiet place, this is the perfect spot.

The food is not too expensive. For example, this dinner cost 1,940 baht (including drinks).

While there may not be a lot of activities on the island, for a relaxing getaway like this, it's perfectly fine for us.

After finishing my meal, I went back to my room to rest and recharge for the next day's diving trip. Hooray! Day 2.

Woke up feeling refreshed. It rained last night, so the air was cool, but when morning came, the sky was clear and bright, perfect for going diving.

We woke up early and had breakfast at the resort. It was a buffet. While we were eating, we had a surprise encounter. We turned around and saw a hornbill!!

I didn't have time to grab my camera, which was a shame. From what I understand, Koh Hey is still very pristine, making it an ideal habitat for hornbills. And hornbills, as you know, are not easy to spot.

Unfortunately, the little mermaid reappeared before long, while I was waiting to check out.

The resort staff told me that there are a lot of mermaids on Koh Hey, almost a hundred. They come up like this every day.

We were so excited, like, soooo excited because we had never seen a hornbill in person, not in a cage like this. This was the first time ever.

My boyfriend once went to film a show in the Halabala forest in Betong. The soldiers told him that it has the largest population of hornbills in Thailand. He didn't see any when he was filming though.

I screamed when I saw it. Haha.

After saying goodbye to the hornbill, we walked to the beach to wait for the boat to take us diving. I can't remember the name of the beach, haha.

The truth is, our plan is part of a one-day trip on the Raya Princess boat.

The full program of the boat is as follows: board the boat in the morning and let the tourists relax at Koh Hey. Then, in the late morning, take them to dive at Koh Racha.

While waiting for the boat to leave, we took random photos. This beach is crowded, unlike Banana Beach yesterday.

Around 11:30 am, it was time to go diving. It took about 15 minutes to get from Koh Hey to Koh Racha. If I remember correctly, haha.

We have arrived at the diving spot. The boat crew will give you 45 minutes for diving.

There are a lot of fish here. I also like the fact that the guide always reminds tourists not to feed the fish. I really appreciate that.

As for my mother, she is also very happy.

But we think the coral isn't as beautiful as it used to be. I remember it being more beautiful when I was a child.

Back then, when I went diving, it was in the Surin Islands. It's a shame, isn't it? I wish the coral reefs were as beautiful as they used to be.

After a satisfying dive, it's time to eat and have fun! The boat took us to Koh Racha, but on the other side of the beach where people relax.

The food is served on trays for us to choose from, not in lunch boxes. The taste is okay, it's good.

The view is as beautiful as the story.

Before returning to the boat, stop by and take some pictures.

Then the boat took us to play in the water at Racha Island beach.

The waves here are very rough. The guide said that they are rolling waves that will drag us away from the shore. Be careful.

If you're scared, you can just chill and drink coconut water (100 baht each, I almost had a heart attack when I paid) on a mat for 200 baht.

After relaxing and taking photos until it was time to go, the guide called us to board the boat back to Phuket.

Upon arrival, a van will be waiting to take us to our hotels. Tonight, we'll be staying at the Andaman Beach Suite in Patong, with a beautiful sea view room.

Not satisfied with just playing in the water, I changed my clothes and went down to play in the hotel's swimming pool again. Mom is happy as always, and this child is happy too.

We were exhausted from playing in the water, so we decided to look for a delicious restaurant. We searched on Pantip and found a recommendation for the Gab Kluay restaurant. We decided to give it a try.

The food was delicious, the shrimp and squid were very fresh, and the portions were generous. The price was also reasonable, with the meal costing 1570 baht.

Including beer from Chala Wan. The food pictures might not be pretty, we were so hungry that our hands were shaking. 😭😭😭😭

After we were full, we went for a walk to digest at Patong Beach Road. This road is lined with pubs and bars, similar to Walking Street in Pattaya, but not as scary (at least in our opinion).

Oh, the way to get around Patong, there are taxis and tuk-tuks. The first round from the hotel to the restaurant, we took a taxi for 200 baht.

From Banana Leaf Restaurant to Patong Beach, a tuk-tuk ride costs 200 baht. This is the starting price, according to a waiter at the restaurant. The price may increase if the distance is shorter.

This is what a Phuket tuk-tuk looks like.

The day ended with me buying beer to drink in my room because I was hot and wanted to get away from the air conditioning. Job's done. Ha ha. Day 3.

The last day in Phuket. Today is a chill walking trip, taking cool pictures in the old town. In the morning, I had breakfast at the hotel and packed my things while waiting for the car to pick me up.

Today we rented an additional car because in our package they will only have a van to pick us up from the hotel to the airport.

It takes about 40 minutes to get from Patong to the Old Town.

The driver dropped us off at the 72nd Anniversary Queen Sirikit Park, which features a large golden dragon as its main attraction.

Honestly, I don't know which way to go. I just know I have to walk. So, let's just walk around in circles!

The summary is that the building is located on Phuket Road at the Chartered Bank, which has a clock tower. However, when I went there, it was still under renovation, so I didn't take any pictures.

Stop by to capture a picture of the mother and child's bond.

Who taught her to pose? I'm really curious.

We walked along Phang Nga Road. There were old buildings all along the way.

We like the Chino-Portuguese style buildings. They are unique and blend Western and Eastern art very well.

Plus, with constant care and a fresh coat of paint, it looks completely different.

I found some graffiti with a little bird on it. Why do I keep seeing birds lately? But it's okay, I have a boyfriend now so I'm not scared. Hehehe.

As I walked, I came across this building. It is the location of Kasikorn Thai Bank. There is a red mailbox, which contrasts beautifully with the white building. I'd like to take a picture.

Strolling around, taking in the atmosphere, I came across a restaurant. It looked delicious, and the place was packed with people. But I wasn't hungry yet, so I decided to pass for now.

But now I want to drink coffee. We walked to the middle road and found a coffee shop called Cafe in, which is right next to the Phuket Thai Hua Museum. I didn't take a picture of the front of the shop.

It's a small, cute coffee shop with a touch of Chinese style in its decor.

The most famous menu here, I saw almost every table ordered it, so I did too. It's the Ovalew honey lemon. It's so delicious and refreshing. There's also something like soft jelly at the bottom. I love it so much.

After taking a break to cool down, we continued walking. This time we walked to Thalang Road, a street with a huge number of old buildings.

No need to say much, let's just look at the pictures, okay?

Mom, what are you doing?

I came across another graffiti. This time it was the work of ALEX FACE. He drew a three-eyed Mardier transforming into Ang Koo, a red turtle cake from Phuket. So cute!

I came across another coffee shop. There are a lot of coffee shops here. I've seen this shop online a lot, probably because of its bright and colorful appearance. People seem to like it.

The name of the shop is Eleven Two & Co Cafe, and of course, I didn't eat anything, but it was still good to take pictures.

Alright, I'm hungry. We have a restaurant in mind. For this meal, I'd like to leave it to Wan Chan. My colleague who came to film a show here recommended it. Hehe.

The restaurant is located near the intersection of Thep Krasattri Road and Deebook Road. It is a Phuket local restaurant that has adjusted the taste to suit the palates of foreigners.

While waiting for the food, I went for a walk to take pictures of the restaurant's atmosphere. The restaurant still maintains its old-fashioned house style, with some additional decorations, but they use collectibles to decorate.

Almost all the dishes we ordered were recommended dishes, starting with fried mushrooms.

This section is grilled pork neck with chili salt. It's delicious and perfect for a chubby kid like me.

This is Monday's chili paste set, consisting of shrimp paste and crab roe chili paste. We prefer the crab roe chili paste. We think the shrimp paste is not as good as the one at the banana leaf restaurant in Patong.

And this, crab curry with betel leaves. Oh my god, so much crab meat! And it's delicious too, you guys. Eating it with rice noodles, I don't even want to describe it.

All this, including 2 plates of rice and a soft drink, cost 920 baht!!! It was much cheaper than I expected. It's a great deal, so if you're in the area, be sure to stop by and try it. I highly recommend it!!!

After eating until our bellies were full, it was time to say goodbye to Phuket. Before we go, let's take a look at the expenses. It might not be exact, but here it is:

This trip might be a bit slow-paced, but we really wanted to take mom to relax.

Spending time walking and taking pictures together is so much fun. Let's go out and explore, and don't forget to bring the people you love with you. :]

That's all for today. See you again in the next review. Bye-bye!
