Hello everyone, today the travel couple will take you to visit a small town near Bangkok. That is Amphawa, a small district in Samut Songkhram, the smallest province in Thailand. Let's see what to do there. This trip is a short trip of 2 days 1 night, 4 people, with expenses at the end of the trip.
This trip program will take place on May 14-15, 2559.
Day 1: Bang Kung Temple - Wat Pak Nam Suspension Bridge - Thai Cat Conservation Center - The Kittens Koffie - Red Pork Noodle Shop - Sleep at Na Pralay Pongpang - Amphawa Floating Market
Leaving Bangkok around 9 am, taking it easy and enjoying the ride, the distance is only about 100 kilometers. Following Rama II Road, passing Samut Sakhon and arriving at Samut Songkhram. The first destination is Wat Bang Kung, another unseen place in Thailand. There is a church covered by a banyan tree, which happened naturally.
This is a popular spot. The Bodhiparak Church is not easy to find, but it is very beautiful.
Pay respect to the Buddha.
The surrounding area is a statue of brave soldiers because in the past, this point was a camp where King Ekathat ordered the southern cities to raise a naval force to set up a camp and build a wall around Bang Kung Temple in the late Ayutthaya period.
After leaving Bang Kung Temple, I was on my way to the Thai Cat Conservation Center when I spotted a small suspension bridge over the river. I decided to stop by for a bit. This suspension bridge is only for pedestrians, I think because it's very small. However, motorcycles can also pass through, but I don't know if they actually drive across it. It's located in Wat Pak Nam, near Bang Kung Temple. Actually, it's not a tourist attraction, it's a bridge for the locals, but I thought it was beautiful, so I stopped by.
Check in at Tha Khu.
A very local atmosphere with boats passing by.
Villagers playing in the water
It seems like nothing, but it's a good angle.
Not far from the suspension bridge is the Thai Cat Conservation Center. Each place is close together, so you can easily visit them one after another.
This will be a Thai cat conservation center. There are many breeds with history to read.
The kittens look thin and shivering, I wonder if they're hot or not. I've never raised cats before, but it seems like not many people come here. Anyone who stops by can visit and help feed the kittens.
Next to the Thai Cat Conservation Center is The Kittens Koffie coffee shop. You can park in the same place.
The shop is not very big, but it is beautifully decorated.
There are cute photo spots.
There are both drinks and desserts. There is also pizza on the menu, but I didn't order it.
The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The meal cost 330 baht and included a drink, dessert, and spinach with cheese.
After leaving the coffee shop, I will head to my accommodation at 2 pm. I will stop by a noodle shop for lunch. Baan Sabai Thai is a newly opened restaurant that serves red pork noodle soup in the Amphawa style.
The atmosphere of the Thai house below is a noodle shop.
The glass is used as a jug, it's very cool and refreshing when you drink it.
The red pork noodle soup here is special because it has "klang" noodles, which are thicker than "sen lek" noodles but thinner than "sen yai" noodles. 555
The noodles look delicious, soft and chewy. They cost 30 baht per bowl. I had two bowls for lunch, which cost 220 baht in total.
Then we checked into our accommodation for the night. Tonight, we'll be sleeping at Na Plai Pong Pang, a riverside resort with a lush atmosphere.
It's almost 2 pm, but his room isn't ready yet, so I have to sit and wait around for a while.
The atmosphere is very good, shady, lots of trees, not hot.
The atmosphere in front of our room. I stayed in a large house with 2 rooms in the same house. Price 3000 baht
Let's take a look at this window in the living room, but the living room is very small.
Inside the first room
The other room is decorated similarly, with a full-length window offering a view of the outside. The curtains can be drawn to completely block out the light, making it perfect for sleeping during the day.
The bathroom is big and clean.
Then relax and wait for the time to go to Amphawa at 5 pm. In the evening, the sun is not too hot, and the atmosphere in front of the room is even better.
The water level is low right now. We have to wait until late at night when the tide comes in and the water level rises.
We arrived at the market and found a parking spot. Then we went for a walk.
A wide variety of food and beverages are available for your selection.
This place also offers boat trips. You can enjoy the surrounding atmosphere. If you want to take a boat ride to see the view, you can do so. Or if you go in the evening, you can take a boat ride to see the sunset. It will be beautiful for sure.
I'm hungry from walking around. There's so much delicious food here.
Today I chose to eat seafood. We sat opposite each other, but I sat on this side.
There are many menus, I ordered 5 dishes.
There is another papaya salad with shrimp and squid, very delicious.
Look at the shrimp head, it's so juicy! I'm so sorry for all the people who are allergic to shrimp. It's such a shame. Hehe.
The view while eating, I erased the power lines a bit, it looks beautiful. This meal cost 670 baht. I'm full. The girls ate less, so I ate everything. I also bought crispy pork with sticky rice for another 100 baht, so I'm really full. The crispy pork by the kilo is very delicious. It's on the way to the police station, there's a shop there, you should try it.
Can you take a picture of the lights on the bridge? The sun is setting and the light is beautiful.
Beautiful lights from the boats.
The sky was beautiful as I walked back to the parking lot.
We returned to our accommodation and sat down for a drink before bed, enjoying the beautiful atmosphere by the water. However, I couldn't take any pictures because the other side was pitch black and there were no lights. The night air was cool and comfortable, and we all went our separate ways to sleep in the morning. The Wi-Fi was strong enough to allow me to relax and play in my room.
During my visit, I saw elephants right in front of my room. I went out to take pictures around 1 am, but unfortunately, there were too many power lines and lights. I could only capture the elephants with the wires and lights in the way. The sky was full of stars though.
I woke up to high tide this morning. I was going to offer food to the monks, but it seems they have already paddled away in their boats. Oh well, missed opportunity.
The breakfast here is said to be served at 7am, but it's 7am now and it's not ready yet. It's been a long wait, but they have coffee and fried dough sticks to snack on in the meantime.
You can refill the rice porridge. The taste is good. After eating, I will rest for a while. I am not in a hurry because there are only a few destinations left. I need to time it well because I will end up at the Umbrella Market for the 2 pm train.
We slept until 11 am and then set off. Overall, the accommodation and atmosphere were good, but the service was a bit slow. The room was good, the air conditioning was cold, and it was clean. I liked it here. It's another good option. It's also quiet because it's quite far away and deep inside. But there are signs and GPS, so you don't have to worry about getting lost. This area is full of gardens, so it can feel a bit deserted and scary at night.
Next, let's go for a walk at Bang Noi Floating Market, which is not far from our accommodation. In fact, all the places in Samut Songkhram are close to each other because it is the smallest province with only 3 districts. It's easy to drive around and get there in no time.
The atmosphere by the river is similar, but there are fewer people here, not as crowded. However, there are also fewer shops. But some people still come here to walk around. Not many people know about this place.
It's noon, let's stop by for some noodles.
There's a hanging leg spot available, let's go!
There are water drops falling down, making it look refreshing. It seems like it won't be hot, but it's still hot anyway. Haha.
The taste is okay, delicious but not very delicious. It's not expensive.
Leaving the market, driving on, not far away, you will see a large church on the left-hand side, which is the Church of the Nativity of Our Lady. It is very large and beautiful, but the sun is very hot now, it is past noon.
I've taken my trusty steed, the Wee-Oss, on countless adventures, exploring over 50 provinces so far. My goal is to cover all of Thailand!
It's super hot, especially wearing black. After taking photos for a short while, we continued our journey.
Let's continue. We have time left, so let's stop by the Rama II Park. It's next to the Amphawa Floating Market. The entrance fee is 30 baht per person.
Located in the R.2 Park, this park is a project to commemorate King Phra Phutthaloetla Naphalai of the Phra Phutthaloetla Naphalai Memorial Foundation under the Royal Patronage. To express gratitude for the beautiful art that has been bestowed as a national heritage and has been recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn presided over the opening of the park on March 31, 1979, and opened it to the public on June 1, 1987. Brief history.
This is a fake. It's very realistic.
Each Thai house has a statue and a model of various events on top, which they do not allow to be photographed, so I have collected pictures around it.
The area is over 11 rai and stretches to the river, but I didn't walk the whole way because it was very hot. But I've actually been here before because my girlfriend is from Mae Klong and grew up here, so I come here often. I've been to many places, but I haven't been on a trip like this before. Usually, I just sleep at my girlfriend's house, but this trip was specifically planned for sightseeing.
Our final destination on this trip is the Umbrella Market, a market where trains pass through and vendors have to close their umbrellas to avoid getting hit.
This is a real market selling fresh and dried goods. When I went there, there were a lot of tourists, especially Chinese tour groups, waiting to see the train. However, I heard the vendors swearing loudly. I don't know if they were swearing at the Thai people or the Chinese people about taking pictures. They were yelling that people were blocking their shops and preventing them from selling. The Thai people could hear everything clearly. 555 If you go there to take pictures, be careful not to block the vendors' shops.
The Maeklong-Ban Laem Railway, Maeklong Station is the last station.
The current train schedule for Mae Klong Station is as follows:
8:30 AM, 11:10 AM, 2:30 PM, and 5:40 PM. There are four trains per day, and they are on time. I am on the 2:30 PM train.
The train arrived, and it was packed with people. Luckily, I'm tall, and my camera has a rotating screen, so I could hold it up high and see the screen even though it was surrounded by tourists' hands. Haha. If you want to be at the front, you have to stand there and reserve a spot 10 minutes before the train arrives. It was also hot, so I stood far away and zoomed in.
Here it is! It's really causing a stir. It's just a regular train, but it's strangely unconventional, running through the market. 555 It's so classic.
And then we arrived, successfully completing our trip as planned, and everyone returned home safely.
Summary of expenses
Fixed 480 but not completely. Can run 300 kilometers.
Expressway 100
330 Cat Cafe
Red pork noodles 220
Accommodation 3000
Dinner 770
400 alcoholic beverages
Lunch on the 2nd is 150.
R.2 National Park entrance fee 120
And then there should be a little bit more, in total, I took it to the central drum first, 1500 each, and the total cost was enough to wash the car once.
This is another short trip near Bangkok that I would like to recommend to everyone. It's not expensive and very relaxing. If you want to explore more, you can do so. Especially if you want to pay respects to the nine temples, it's easy because the temples are located close to each other. Or you can come for a day trip. It only takes about an hour to get there by car. But as I said, I come here often, so this trip is more about relaxing and taking it easy.
See you again with our travel couple. Next trip, where will we go? We'll see you then. For today, goodbye.
