Koh Lipe, also known as the Maldives of Thailand, is an island located in the southernmost part of Thailand. It is known for its beautiful beaches and crystal-clear turquoise waters, making it a popular tourist destination.

Lipe Island, meaning "flat island" like "paper", comes from the local language of the water people or Chao Lay (Urak Lawoi tribe) on the island, who are mostly fishermen. The island is surrounded by abundant coral reefs and has beautiful bays with fine white sand.

Every year in June and November, on the 13th to 15th waning moon, villagers of seafaring descent gather on this island for a three-day, three-night boat-floating ceremony. The ceremony is believed to drive away bad luck and predict the future of their livelihoods. Lipe Island and its neighboring islands boast stunning marine beauty, earning them the nickname "Maldives of Thailand".

On this trip, Maenam will be staying at the Serendipity Beach Resort - Koh Lipe, located at the far right corner (facing the sea) of Sunrise Beach. This small resort has only 12 houses nestled along the hillside. It is the only resort on the island with pool villas offering stunning views and a romantic atmosphere.

Let's get to know Koh Lipe briefly first.

This is a screenshot from the website Koh Lipe Dot Com. To get to Koh Lipe, you need to take a boat from Pak Bara Pier.

Upon arrival at Hat Yai Airport, you can take a taxi to Pak Bara Pier for 1,500 baht or a van for 2,000 baht if you are traveling with a group. The journey takes approximately 2 hours from the airport to the pier.

Alternatively, if you're on a budget and don't want to hire a car, you can take the airport van or a shared taxi to the minivan station at Kaset Market in Hat Yai city center. From there, you can take a minivan to Pak Bara Pier, which should take around 3 hours.

It's best to choose a flight that arrives in Hat Yai early in the morning so that you can catch the 11:30 AM boat trip.

Get ready to fly with the little lion.

Pick up the rental car.

We arrived at Pak Bara Pier just in time for the 11.30 am boat.

For detailed travel information, it's better to refer to the previous reviews. Otherwise, it will be too repetitive.

Cut to the scene at Koh Lipe pier.

And then continue the hotel's boat to Sunrise Beach where the hotel is located.

Our hotel is located at the foot of the mountain, lined up along the mountainside.

Don't worry about not having a beach to go to the sea.

Looking to the right, there is a small path leading up to the hotel. There is a small beach with fine sand, very beautiful and truly peaceful.

Let's take a look at the beach in front of the hotel. What do you mean by beautiful?

This area is only accessible to guests staying nearby, making it feel like a private beach.

The beach has shady trees, perfect for relaxing and watching the sea before taking a dip. It's truly amazing.

Let's check in first, then we can relax and spread out a mat under the trees and go down to the sea together.

I'm looking at the area first, I'll come down to play in the sea later.

Or it would be nice to sit here and chill out and have some food first.

But the sea is so tempting to swim in.

We checked in at the restaurant.

The restaurant's atmosphere is perfect for a romantic dinner.

Then we went up to the room together.

The rooms here come in a variety of styles and prices. I'll give you a quick tour.

Let's take a look at our bedroom.

Translation:

This is a one-bedroom pool villa. There are several villas of this type available.

It's so much fun to swim in the pool and watch the sea.

Breakfast is served here. You can inform the staff during check-in and choose your meal. Let them know what time you would like to have it.

Translation:

Let's take a look inside the room and see how beautiful it is.

And then the bathroom.

Translation:

All the equipment is provided for you, including sarongs, mats for the beach, and waterproof bags for snorkeling.

This hammock is super chill, I must say. I've fallen asleep here several times.

Lunch at the restaurant here.

The food is delicious, not expensive, and the atmosphere is really good.

Let's take a look at the cheapest room here. It's a room without a pool.

Inside.

Evening atmosphere at the restaurant.

It was very chill and romantic, but we didn't get to sit down and eat because every table and booth was fully booked.

We made a big mistake by not knowing, so we didn't book a table. I asked the staff that there are only 12 rooms, why are there no tables left?

It turns out that there were outside guests who had booked a table, so the tables were full all the time.

It is recommended that anyone staying here should book a table in advance.

For dinner, we went to find something to eat at the walking street.

It's not far from the hotel, about 15 minutes walk.

If you keep walking on this walking street, you will eventually reach the other side of the island at Pattaya Beach.

Let me take you for a walk.

This shop sells drinks. The prices are not expensive at all. Cocktails, if I remember correctly, are around 100 baht per glass.

The only 7/11 on the island is here.

They say this roti is famous (is it true?) We're not sure.

But ordered like this, the price is 100 baht.

The inside is full of various fillings. We didn't like it, or maybe we just don't know how to eat it.

And then I walked leisurely to the beach in Pattaya.

Wake up in the morning and have breakfast together. (Breakfast is included in every room here.)

The pre-selected menu allows you to order as many sets of scrambled eggs as you like, there is no limit. However, please make sure you finish everything you order.

When it's time, they will serve it to the room. They will arrange it on the table in front of the room at the exact time.

We went all out, aiming to be full until the evening. Hehe.

We asked them to arrange for us in the dining area. We plan to stay here after we are full. We will eat, sleep and chill here.

This is a 2-bedroom pool villa.

This is the most expensive room and there is only one. It is usually fully booked.

In the master bedroom.

This is the second bedroom. You have to walk down a bit.

Let's go see in the room.

Actually, if I were to sleep here, I would choose this room.

On the way back, it's the same as before. You have to take a boat to the pier, then another boat to Pak Bara Pier, and then a taxi to the airport.

I arrived at the airport just in time for a snack.

I would recommend this restaurant. The food is good enough to satisfy your hunger, but the price is a bit expensive. However, it is understandable that they have to pay high rent because they are located in the airport.

And then I returned with the last flight of the airport with the lion cub.

Translation:

That's all.

Thank you for watching.

Mom Pranom, my dear.
