Chiang Khan Slow Life: Living Slowly in Chiang Khan
From two strangers who exchanged postcards for almost a year, a desire to travel together sparked a long trip to explore the northern Isan region. This is where their journey began.
One longed for Chiang Khan but had never been, determined to finally visit. The other, easygoing and open to new experiences, was eager to join.
One, an expert in finding affordable accommodation and transportation, navigated with the mastery of a Google Maps wizard. The other, the safest motorcycle rider in Thailand, maintained a steady 40 km/h throughout the trip.
Join them on their adventure, where the joy of exploration surpasses the awkwardness of two strangers meeting for the first time.

Visiting Chiang Khan requires a slow pace of life, because the attractions are charming.
Visiting Chiang Khan, you must come and find the cats, because they are adorable.
Visiting Chiang Khan, you must try talking to the locals because they are very friendly.
Visiting Chiang Khan is best enjoyed with friends, as the charm of this place might otherwise leave you feeling "lonely".
They say to take it slow in Chiang Khan.

House beside the canal
On our last morning in Chiang Khan, we woke up early to offer sticky rice alms in front of our house. Most of the participants, about 80%, were tourists, with a few elderly local women scattered among them.
7.00 a.m.
After finishing our alms offering, we took a morning stroll around Chiang Khan.
Last night we saw grilled sticky rice. We've seen it in many places before, but we've never tried it.
Let's try it today, one for each of us.
In conclusion, we did not enjoy the food and will not purchase it again. It did not meet our expectations.
Chiang Khan in the morning is very foggy. So much so that we can't even see the Lao side.
And can see in the distance no more than 100 meters (like a movie about fog eating people a lot)

Dip in the water with Grandma Fan
I came here this morning specifically to try the local food.
The reviews of the restaurant are completely different from the actual experience.
The entire shop has been renovated, and it now resembles a typical noodle shop.
Lao sukiyaki
Like noodle soup, you can choose the noodles, add minced pork, sliced pork, and morning glory.
I really like it. I would like to buy grandma's sukiyaki sauce to take home for my mom to make for me.
(Even while writing this review, I still want to eat it.)
Khao soi, at first glance, appears to be pink noodles topped with eggs and tofu.
But the truth is, the Khanom Jeen Nam Ya that I ate in Bangkok
Delicious, filling, cheap, I feel very good, I want to eat it again.
9:00 AM
House near the canal
I was sleepy so I decided to go back to sleep.
10:30 AM
House next door
Wake up, take a shower, pack your things and go home.
Here's a quick review of the room, in case anyone is interested in seeing it.
11:30 AM
Som Tum Tray Restaurant
After searching through many restaurants, I ended up with the usual papaya salad.
I don't remember the alley, but it was delicious and cheap at 80 baht.
Let's take another walk around.
1:00 PM
Chiang Khan
It's time to say goodbye to Chiang Khan for real.
Chiang Khan has a lot of cats, really. A lot, a lot, a lot, a lot (not as many as the number of likes).
The 4th Chiang Khan cat incident
It's a cat that's not very friendly. Every time I see it, it's sleeping.
The 5th and 6th Chiang Khan cat period
They heard the sound all night long. They found the source, but it wouldn't let itself be caught.
The 7th and 8th In Chiang Khan cat.
I found it in the morning. It was orange and looked soft to the touch, so I decided to pick it up and play with it.
But she jumped back up on my shoulder and stayed still.
The other one is hiding under the chair. It must have scratched hard and can't get out of its hiding place.
But Chiang Khan also has dogs.
In the early hours of the last day, we went down to the bathroom. As we were about to walk back up to our room, we saw a mysterious dog. We couldn't see its face, but we saw a red shirt with a spider web pattern running out of the house.
In the morning, Toto walked around. Oh, here it is! The spider is here!
Chiang Khan, in our opinion, is a small town. Because there aren't many tourist attractions, there's no need to rush around sightseeing.
It's like just changing the place to sleep, changing the place to eat, and having more papaya salad to eat than before. 5555
It's a laid-back city, slow and easy.
Like a children's health city, early to bed, early to rise, good air, strong sun, cool breeze.
People are easy to talk to, you can chat with them without feeling awkward, and it's very safe.
If I have the chance, I would love to come back again. The travel is convenient, the accommodation is affordable, and the weather is great.
We think Chiang Khan is suitable for everyone.
You can also come with your family.
You can come with friends.
You can bring your boyfriend.
But you shouldn't come alone because it's soooo 'lonely'.
