Hello everyone! ヽ(˃ヮ˂)ノ
I'm back with another travel post!
This time, I'm taking you all on a trip to Japan again (after having the opportunity to visit last year).
In this post, we'll be following in the footsteps of the anime 'Hyouka: The Mystery of the Literature Club'.
✧ Introduction
As you may know from my post last year, I visited the city of Takayama.
However, I didn't realize that it was the birthplace of Hyouka until I was about to leave the city. 55555
Having the opportunity to return, I decided to follow in the footsteps of the anime and explore some of the hidden corners of the city. Yay!
✧ The map to follow the footsteps can be obtained at the information counter in Takayama City.
It's located near the exit of Takayama Station. Just walk out and you'll see it!
The map is entirely in Japanese, so you'll have to rely on the numbers.
✧ If you want to collect angles that are not on the map (which there are a lot of), you can check out the website
http://hyoukaorigination.blogspot.com/ . We also looked at this website.
✧ There are many ways to get to Takayama City.
We used the Hokuriku Pass to travel from Osaka to Takayama.
The more convenient way is to take the Nohi bus, which takes about 6 hours from Osaka.
There is also a bus from Tokyo (Shinjuku), which takes the same amount of time. You can book the bus directly on the Nohi website.
Now, let's go on a pilgrimage!
no.4 / OP
Miyagawa Morning Market
EP. 1
A little further from the previous picture, you will find this place where Houtarou walked by.
EP. 1
"So delicious, no.1 in Takayama"
I saw a poster and decided to check it out. I ended up buying some Hida beef from the friendly lady at the shop.
There was even a sign in Thai in front of the store! 55555
no. 5 / OP
no. 11 / OP
This is a little further down from the market. Taken from the bridge, I had to zoom in a lot and crop it.
EP.12
No. 6 / EP. 10
Little Kyoto on Sanmachisuji Street
Walking along the map, I found it right away. At first, I looked for it for a long time.
(I couldn't find the green tea shop sign because the real one was much paler. 5555)
no.19 / EP.10-11
The shop is on the right-hand side from the previous picture.
no.10 / EP.18 + no. 9 / OP
The area below the bridge is the location of no. 9 on the map, which has now been removed. Therefore, it was not photographed.
no. 16 / EP. 1-4-10
This intersection appears in many scenes throughout the story.
no. 12 / EP.5
The mailbox is in the same corner as Houtarou, in the Honmachi street zone.
no. 17 / OP
No. 20 / EP. 2-3
Unfortunately, I couldn't go inside the Bagpipe café, but the scene where the main characters were sitting and talking was inside.
No. 21 / EP. 11
It took a long time to find this place. I finally realized that I had to take the picture from the other side to make it look the same.
No. 22 / EP. 2
After walking past the previous picture, turn left a little and you will find it. There is a sign in front of the alley.
Actually, the detail of the yellow-black striped sign is also there in real life, but we didn't capture it all.
Nearby is Houtarou's house, but in reality... it's an empty space.
OP
Kamiyama High School is modeled after Hida High School.
It's a long walk from the end of the Miyagawa River zone, but you'll find a skateboard park.
Then turn right and you'll see a big bridge. Cross the crosswalk and turn left at the first traffic light.
Walk to the end of the alley and you'll find the school. The atmosphere is very good and shady, with a river surrounding it.
Kamiyama High School Student Uniform
It happened to be a Sunday when I went, but the school was not closed.
My younger sister told me this (from secretly asking because she happened to be waiting for a friend in front of the school).
She said that on Sundays, it will be open for students who have club activities to come to the club. My sister is in the archery club.
She showed us a video of the club atmosphere. We told her that we were following in the footsteps of Hyoge.
After introducing the school, we asked to take a selfie together. She was so cute and friendly!
The school uniform shop that served as the inspiration for Hyouka, as always.
I stumbled upon this shop by chance. It's filled with Hyouka merchandise.
Announcer Jitanda
The Hyouka book is the origin of everything.
It's worth buying and collecting.
There are many other scenes that we couldn't follow because they were too far away, such as Hie Shrine and the swimming pool scene.
Or those that are quite far out of town because there wasn't enough time (such a pity).
Another recommendation is to come during the Sanno Matsuri festival around April.
It will be amazing because there is also a parade scene in the anime.
That's it for this time's pilgrimage.
Actually, I also went to follow Kyoukai no Kanata / Free! / The Garden of Words, but I only got a little bit of each.
If I have the chance to go again next year, I would like to follow the trail again. It's so much fun to find the real locations of the animation.
It's like opening up a new world, and I also get to see how different cities are promoted through anime.
Thank you for following. For the old posts, you can follow them at the bottom.
As for the Japan travel posts for 2016, they will be coming soon.
