This trip is a short 2-day, 1-night journey from Lampang to Chiang Mai.
As we are girls from Lamphang... it's very cold. So, we decided to travel impulsively.
On our free Saturday and Sunday, we packed our bags and got ready to drive to Chiang Mai. Let's go!
Looking for a rainy season trip? Look no further than Mon Cham, Chiang Dao. You can have a great time in just 2 days.
Day 1:
We set off early in the morning by private car. It took about 45 minutes to travel. We were hungry, so we stopped by the Sam Yaek market in San Sai district. The shop that looked ordinary but was not ordinary was "Dan Khao Man Gai Shop". The price is around 30 baht per plate. The price is friendly and everyone is impressed. I must say that if you come after 11.00 am, you may not be able to eat. It's sold out! After we were full, we continued our journey to Mon Cham.
On our way, we took a detour from San Sai district to Mae Rim district to find some delicious food. This is it, "Sala Cafe". The atmosphere is a mix of nature and wooden houses. For those who like to take pictures, there are many cool corners with a mixed style. Now in the rainy season, the trees are very green and beautiful. Food, drinks and service are available. The shop is open from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm.
Sure, here is the translation:
Let's go, what are we waiting for? Pink milk plus chocolate ice cream and dessert 555+ I can't remember the name, the total damage is 190.- It's considered a standard price. The atmosphere plus the taste is considered worthwhile. After we were full, we walked around looking for beautiful places to take pictures. I took only a few pictures.
Our bellies are about to burst, but we still have to continue our journey to Mon Cham. Let's go.......
We then followed the signs that said "Mon Cham, the road is not dangerous." People who have never been there can drive themselves. Just have a GPS to guide you. It only takes 20 minutes from the coffee shop. Finally, we arrived. Today we were lucky that it didn't rain and there weren't many people. It was really lucky for us. I didn't think Mon Cham would be so beautiful in the rainy season. Let's go... take a picture.
We've arrived at "Mon Cham"
The air at Mon Cham is so cool and comfortable. White mist moves slowly through our bodies, along with green trees and the smell of soil after the rain. It's the most refreshing thing ever.
After taking photos, we asked to go shopping. We came across this, a plum.
The Hmong vendor said that there are not many plums available this season because they can only be sold once a year after planting. Most of them are cut down and replaced with other vegetables that have a shorter lifespan and can be harvested throughout the year. Therefore, there are not many plums available. They are sold at 70 baht per kilogram. The kind Hmong vendor gave us a discount, reducing the price to only 65 baht per kilogram. Hehe, I bought 2 kilograms for a total of 130 baht. I'm not satisfied yet, so I continued to take pictures. Then I came across a Hmong Formula car and a little boy. The little boy was so cute! I couldn't wait to play with him too. I love children! 555+
After we finished taking photos, we continued our journey to Chiang Dao. The road to Chiang Dao is not difficult. Motorbikes can ride there. The road has small curves.
The signs are very clear, heading towards Chiang Dao District. Our destination is Na Lau Mai Village. Before entering the village, you have to pay an entrance fee to the wildlife sanctuary. 70 baht for 1 car and 2 people. The entrance is narrow, so you have to drive carefully. On the way, we encountered an accident. There was a car that fell off the side of the road. It might be because the road was slippery and the driver was not familiar with the road. Anyone driving during the rainy season should be careful. We have arrived at our destination, "Lisu Homestay, Doi Luang Chiang Dao".
Upon arrival, I was truly impressed by the Li Su Homestay. With only 8 houses facing Doi Luang Chiang Dao, the mist embraced the mountains. The rooms can accommodate from 1 to 4 people, with a charge of 500 baht per person. We can inform the owner how many people we want to stay in each house. The 500 baht includes dinner and breakfast the next day. Please note that the accommodation does not have electricity, but there are lanterns provided. The bathrooms are clean, but there is no hot water. Things to bring: Towels, as the homestay does not provide them. Additionally, phone signal is only available in certain areas. Anyone who
For room reservations, please contact Mr. Tar. He provides excellent service. Phone number: 0917247536
When we arrived, it wasn't too late yet, so we went for a walk. In front of the alley, there were small shops selling general goods, drinks, and snacks. The prices were only 5-10 baht more than the market price. This shop has a small selection of snacks, drinks, and other necessities.
We then continued walking to another popular spot, "Star Balcony". The view was equally beautiful, but it was a bit more crowded. There were lights to charge our phones and drinks and snacks available to order. The atmosphere was just as beautiful.
Around 5 pm, we went for a walk to find a phone signal. As the sun began to set, we started to feel hungry. The Lisu Homestay had a dinner menu with omelets, chili paste, and clear soup. The food looked ordinary, but the atmosphere on the balcony, plus Doi Luang and the fog in front, I must say it was extraordinary. It really is a hundred-baht accommodation with a million-baht view. If you want to drink, you have to order from the owner because the shops will close at 6 pm. If you want to drink, you have to stock up quickly.
After dinner, the sky began to darken. There was no electricity, and the air was pleasantly cool. It's the rainy season now, and there was a light drizzle. Wrap yourselves in blankets, it's getting quite chilly. ........Zzzzzzzz
Day 2 :
Good morning! The homestay offers breakfast with rice porridge, coffee, and Ovaltine early in the morning. The mist after the rain last night surrounds Doi Luang, making it cool and comfortable. P'Tar, the owner of the homestay, told us that there are fewer tourists staying here during this time. During the winter, it will be full. It won't be full during the rainy season, but the homestay is closed during the summer. People don't come here much anymore. We came during this time because there are fewer people, as it is the rainy season. (But the atmosphere is amazing, even though it's raining.)
In the morning, walking up from the accommodation, you will find this spot, which is popular for taking pictures. The morning sun with white mist. Up here, there are also accommodations that are just as beautiful. View of Doi Luang.
After breakfast, we continued our journey. It happened to be a Buddhist holy day on the 19th, so we stopped by the "Jom Ki Ri Temple" to make merit at the crematorium, worship Buddha, and refill the oil lamps. The temple is located on the way back from Chiang Dao District. We made merit at the temple. May good things happen...
I'm starting to get hungry. Let's go find a place to eat. We found a restaurant called "Him Nam Coffee". "Him" in northern Thai means "rim", so the name means "coffee by the water". This restaurant has a wide variety of food and drinks. We were very hungry, so we ordered our favorite papaya salad, along with a strawberry smoothie and a chocolate ice cream sundae. It was delicious! We were not disappointed.
We are full and ready to continue our journey. We went to another temple to pay our respects to the Buddha. This temple is very beautiful and a must-see. It's really beautiful, but it's also hot, haha. But we're still going strong... Let's go! "Wat Ban Ban Den, Mae Taeng District" Chiang Mai.
After worshiping the Buddha, it's time to travel back to Lamphun. On the way back, we passed Saraphi intersection. I thought of a noodle shop. It's an ordinary shop, but the taste is extraordinary. Auntie Porn's shop is located next to the railway at Saraphi intersection. If you're coming from Chiang Mai and heading back to Lamphun, turn right at the intersection. You'll have to cross the railway tracks. The shop is located next to the railway tracks. Without further ado, we ordered the dry yellow noodles with tom yum soup. It was so delicious! The price is only 30 baht per bowl. It's delicious and cheap. I have to tell you about it again.
Travel, travel, stop by again and again. Another thing you can't miss on this trip is Mae Tha Market. This market is located between Chiang Mai and Lamphang provinces, which is in Lamphun. It is a market that sells wild plants and vegetables of many kinds. If you want to try something strange, this place has it for sure.
This is a wasp nest. Uh, I've never tried it. Honeycomb is okay for me. I'll skip this menu for now.
Coconut rhinoceros beetle
A popular mushroom that everyone must try. Let me tell you, we love it so much. The "Hed Thop" mushroom, just boiled with salt, just thinking about it makes me feel the crunchy bite. It's so delicious, you won't believe it.
After shopping at Mae Tha Market, where we got mushrooms, honeycombs, and fruits, we headed back to our hometown by horse-drawn carriage. Today is Sunday, of course. We went straight to **Kad Kong Ta Walking Street**. This time, we didn't focus on taking pictures of the atmosphere, but on our hunger. We really wanted to eat "Khao Kha Moo" (stewed pork leg on rice). We couldn't wait to eat, it was a big deal. But if you come to Lampang on Saturday or Sunday, I recommend you to visit Kad Kong Ta Walking Street. Not only will you find a variety of food and goods to choose from, but you will also see the atmosphere of old houses, which is a community that still retains its beauty.
After finishing the 10-baht skewered meatballs, we turned around and found a snack that looked like a cup cake, available in 4 colors. It's called Ancient Khao Poun and costs 4 baht per cup. It must be eaten with sugarcane juice mixed with minced pork, fried garlic, and pickled radish, sprinkled with pepper. The taste is quite good, but you need to add a lot of dipping sauce because the snack is quite bland. There are only 4 colors of Ancient Khao Poun available: purple, white, yellow, and orange. Choose your favorite color!
Finally closed the trip, Aing Aoi, the original version of the episode, both travel and eat. The total cost of the trip was 1,632 baht, including fuel costs. A short trip, full of food and warm sleep. You must come during the rainy season......... #Eat and travel together #Aing Aoi trip
For those who live far away, rest assured that traveling to Chiang Mai is not difficult. It is easily accessible by plane, car, or train. You can book your tickets in advance. As for Mon Cham and Chiang Dao, there are many transportation options available to take you there. Don't worry, the people of the North are friendly and will welcome you with open arms. ^_^
