Traveling to Nan during the rainy season is a great experience. After returning from Chiang Mai, we felt like we had fallen head over heels for the rice fields. However, we still weren't satisfied with the terraced fields at Mae Klang Luang. So, we decided to take a spontaneous trip to Nan after researching green rice paddy fields in Thailand. Once we had gathered information, we packed our bags and set off for a fun adventure. Nan is a true slow-life city. The people are friendly, helpful, and always smiling. The way of life here is simple and unpretentious. The air is fresh, the rice fields are beautiful, and the nature is pristine. Anyone who visits is sure to fall in love with Nan, just like we did. Our main focus was on Pua, as it is a town surrounded by lush green rice fields. In the town itself, there are many attractions to visit, such as Wat Phukhao, Tai Lue coffee shops, Doi Phuka, and Bo Kluea. So, let's follow us and fall in love with Nan together.

Traveling to Pua District, Nan Province
If you take a bus .. take the Bangkok-Thung Chang (Nan) route. When buying a ticket, tell me that you are going to Pua District. And when you get on, tell the service staff on the bus that you can get off at Pua District. Currently, there are 3 companies: Sombat Tour, Cherdchai Tour and Bus Terminal. There are both VIP buses and VIP buses. Or you can take a bus to Nan city and then take a songthaew from Kad Nan. The price is 80 baht per person, but you have to wait for the car to be full before leaving. It takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes to travel.

Our first stop is Wat Phukhet, a temple with stunning scenery and views. The highlight is the viewing balcony, which offers panoramic views of the vast rice fields and the mountains of Doi Phu Kha National Park in the background.

In the morning, Wat Phukhao is another beautiful spot to watch the sunrise. If you want to see the atmosphere of the sunrise with the mist, come early around 6 am. But if you want to take pictures of the rice fields without the backlight and get a blue sky, you should come in the late afternoon. We arrived in the morning, and the backlight was a bit strong, but it was still beautiful in its own way.

After taking pictures of the beautiful rice fields, we continued to a coffee shop with prices in the tens but a million-dollar view. Sipping coffee by the rice field in a Tai Lue atmosphere "Baan Tai Lue Coffee Shop" Arriving in Pua District, you must stop by to sip drinks, coffee, and soak up the atmosphere of the local Tai Lue style.

Nestled amidst the serene rice paddies, Baan Tai Lue Coffee Shop offers a unique and captivating experience. The cafe's traditional Tai Lue ambiance transports you to a bygone era, while its modern amenities provide a touch of comfort. As you step inside, you'll be greeted by the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the warm hospitality of the staff. Take a seat by the window and soak in the breathtaking views of the lush rice fields and the majestic mountains in the distance. The cafe's cozy atmosphere invites you to relax and unwind, whether you're enjoying a cup of coffee, reading a book, or simply taking in the tranquil surroundings. Don't miss the opportunity to capture some Instagram-worthy shots at the charming hut at the end of the rice field, a unique and unforgettable experience.

After enjoying a cup of coffee and soaking in the atmosphere of the rice fields, we continued our journey to Doi Phu Kha and the salt wells.

A sky-high road on a rainy day, the fog so thick that the path ahead is completely invisible.

The day we went, it rained quite heavily, making the fog obscure the view. We were very disappointed and decided to come back again next time for sure.

The roadside view between/Pa Bo Klu, no matter where you look, is green as far as the eye can see.

I have completely fallen in love with Nan. The nature is pristine, the air is fresh, and the people are friendly. The atmosphere is laid-back and perfect for anyone who loves rice fields and mountains. If you're looking for a place to relax and escape the hustle and bustle of city life, Nan is the perfect destination. Come and experience the magic of Nan for yourself!
