This is the second time I've been able to ride the train for free to go sightseeing, after the government extended the program (they seem to extend it every government, haha. Just imagine if they didn't extend it, it would affect the next election… oops).
)
This rainy season, we organized a trip to Kanchanaburi to play in the water by train. We got 6 members and booked accommodation 2 months in advance (resorts by the river tend to fill up quickly, so if you're planning a trip, book early!).
It's time to meet at Thon Buri Railway Station (the train departs at 7.50 am) to pick up your free tickets before the time. Before coming, we did our homework and studied the directions. We recommend choosing to sit in the last carriages and on the left-hand side because the view of the crowd when the train turns, you must sit on this side.
I arrived early, excited to ride the Thai train, but the sight that greeted me was oh so worth it.
We, Nui and Nu Na, arrived first and took some photos. A while later, Golf messaged saying his alarm didn't go off. (I think it did go off, but he didn't wake up because he was excited and couldn't sleep.)
After taking some photos, the train arrived at the platform. I hurried to get on and reserve a good seat. Haha, I was afraid of missing out on a good spot. Hehe.
Chef Golf was late because she had to warm up the food. It was delicious. Thank you very much. Oh, who would have thought? You can prepare breakfast to eat on the train or not. There is food for sale all the way on the train. I guarantee you won't be hungry. Plus, the prices are not expensive.
The bathroom wasn't as scary as I thought. It even smelled good from the cleaning solution. It was clean and had tissues. Just aim well, don't be drunk, and don't go in when the train is stopped.
This train is popular during holidays or weekends because it is a popular tourist route. It is not a long journey and the destination is Sai Yok Waterfall, where there are many beautiful places to visit.
As we sat down, the seats started to fill up. We began to worry that someone would ask to sit in Jaonoi's seat, as she had boarded at Thanon Songphol Station. But we narrowly escaped that fate. Hooray! We were able to sit together. I was so happy.
And don't forget to buy the curry rice at Nong Pla Duk Junction Station (but actually bought it before reaching the station because when I arrived at the station, it wasn't sold on the train). Luckily, there was only 1 left, the rest were sold out. But it's okay, we were already full because we had already eaten the divine food from Chef Golf. 555
I can sit here for hours and never get bored. I don't know why.
As we were traveling, we chatted non-stop, not even a chance to sleep. Haha. We talked as if we hadn't seen each other in ages (even though we talk on Line all day long). Haha. Then, Aon mentioned that we had taken a train to Hua Hin before. So, we dug up old photos and rearranged the seats, stuffing them in to relive some memories.
*** Why has Nan changed?
Riding through many stations, it's not boring at all. The views on both sides of the road are beautiful. During the rainy season, everything is beautiful, lush green, and the weather is not hot. I love it.
Many people got off at the bridge over the River Kwai, so the seats were comfortably empty for us.
The view is really beautiful, I must say.
1:00 PM sharp, arrived at the final station. Yay, only 25 minutes late. Not bad, I can forgive that (actually, it was on time, but the stops at Nakhon Pathom and Kanchanaburi stations were a bit long).
The car is here to pick us up (I saw them post on The Fores Facebook page), so we asked about the price. The fixed price is 700 baht, including a stop at Khao Khad. If there are many people, it's worth it because you get to visit the place too. But if there are only 2 people or less, you can take a songthaew from the station to the waterfall for 20 baht and then take a bus from Kanchanaburi to Sangkhla or Kanchanaburi to Thong Pha Phum for another 1.30 hours. Get off at Ban Kaeng Chor and call the resort car to pick you up. The price is 50-60 baht, I think. The total price is almost 100 baht. It's better to go this way, it's faster and you get to visit another place too. Hehe. Let the teenagers and kids experience that way. 555 I'm old now, so I'll just take the shortcut. 555
On the way, it's beautiful, isn't it? It's green and the roads are clear. The green grass reminds me of the north. I heard Toy say, "I miss Mae Kampong." 555 I told you, riding a motorcycle and traveling in the mountains has a charm that you won't forget. Every time I close my eyes, I think about it every time. Believe it or not, try it yourself.
To the Hellfire Pass Museum, we've been visiting Kanchanaburi since we were kids, but we've never been here before. Huh, is that possible? Let's go in and see... Inside the museum, there are exhibits about the history of the place, telling historical stories. Plus, many foreign tourists come to see it because their brave heroes died here. We would like to express our condolences and pay tribute to all the brave men and women here.
Let's take a walk outside for a change. It's so refreshing! The trees are so green and lush.
Many people have been here before, but only seen it in pictures. Well, it's really beautiful in person.
The model (it was reported that there was a sign saying "No sitting on the vine")
Beautiful angles
It's a pity that I didn't bring my own car, so I couldn't stay and admire it for longer. If I have the chance to come again, I will walk around for a long time and return by a different route so that I can walk around and see everything.
The next station is The Fores Resort (Those who arrive before check-in, please finish your meals and bring drinks and snacks. As for us, we have leftover food from this morning to keep us going before dinner.)
Checking in requires walking down to the lower floor and finding your own room. This might be a bit difficult for the elderly (but looking around, it seems that there are only young people, teenagers, and children), so it's not a problem for us. Hehe.
We arrived at the accommodation and were unpacking our food when the rain started to pour down. Yay, we were so lucky! But it only rained for a short while, and before we could even soak up the atmosphere, it stopped.
In the evening, the resort had 3 rounds of raft pulling activities: 3:30 PM, 4:30 PM, and the last round at 5:30 PM, I think (I can't remember). We went on the second round, the weather was nice and cool, and when we finished playing, it was time for dinner. Hehe.
The boat will tow us 1-2 kilometers (but for some reason it feels much farther) and then let us float back to our accommodation. While we are floating, there will be staff to look after us and pick us up when we reach the first pick-up point. If anyone misses it, they can go to the second pick-up point. But if they miss that too, they will have to wait until the next day. It's quite tiring to climb up, haha.
After returning, I took a shower and changed my clothes. It was just in time for dinner, and I was starving. The food was buffet-style, so I helped myself. The food was delicious, not too sweet (which I liked). The soup was especially good, and there was also sweet soup and fruit for dessert.

Enjoying a meal with a cool breeze and a view of the water. I must say, it's simply amazing.
After a full meal, take a walk to digest. Here, there is a swimming pool (saltwater) to play in. However, the activity time is limited, so I didn't see many people playing. Let's take a look at the atmosphere at night, it's beautiful.
Back at the accommodation, there was nothing to do because the room didn't have a TV to watch, except for talking to each other. The downside of this place is that the walls are very thin. If you get a roommate who likes to talk a lot or drink alcohol, you won't be able to sleep. Like the room next door, the girl named Nui and the girl named Na, they were screaming so loud that even though we were in the next room, we could hear them clearly. 555
As I was about to sleep, Golf was making a "gagging" sound next to the bed. I asked him what he was doing, and he said he was packing his bags. I didn't think anything of it. I was feeling back pain because my period was about to start, so I went to knock on Nui's door to ask her to give me a massage.
It took a while for him to open up and be grumpy. He wouldn't give me a massage because he had a headache. But I used my seniority to force him to give me a massage.
As I was getting a massage, I heard music and saw candlelight enter the room. Oh my god, my friend Toi surprised me with a cake. Thank you, thank you. I knew it, that's why Toi brought a very big bag on this trip, because he secretly put the cake in it.
After the song was finished, Golf asked us to cut the cake and distribute it. We were busy cutting the cake. After a while, Golf shouted, "Come here, come and see in the room." We rushed to see. 555 Oh my god, there was another cake. This time, it was Golf's cake, celebrating our birthdays in advance for both me and Toi. Thank you. As for Aon, the photographer, he could barely keep up. 5555 As for the people who were watching, their necks were getting sore one after another.
Waking up to fresh air with a light mist in front of the room. The beauty and naturalness are amazing.
A gift from a golf friend
And have breakfast together.
The food is available in both Thai and Western styles. I must say that the rice porridge is so delicious that you will eat until your stomach almost bursts.
After finishing our meal, we went for a walk to digest our food. We went to the top to see the pool and the view in the morning. We also bought the photos that the staff took of us floating in the water while sitting in a boat.
This picture reminds me of Doi Inthanon.
After walking down, I was hungry again, so I had another round of bread and coffee (Aon tempted me with heavy food, another bowl of rice porridge, lol).
And check into the accommodation, put away your luggage, take some photos in front of the room, and return by van at 10.30 am (booked yesterday at check-in). It's so fast, I don't want to go back yet, but I came without a car, right? It's too much trouble to ask the car to drop me off at the entrance of the alley and take the bus myself. Let's go back. It's a pity if I had a car, I would leave around noon. Hehe.
The van arrived on time and stopped for us to buy souvenirs at Sai Yok Noi Waterfall for 30 minutes. There wasn't a single drop of water at the waterfall, so we didn't walk around. Instead, we bought some processed bananas as souvenirs. They were delicious, fresh, crispy, and new. It's a pity we didn't buy more. 555
And went to send at the bus station. Find something to eat before And take the bus back Price 100 baht Arrived in Bangkok Yay It's a short, fun trip. There is only time for Sat-Sun. You can also travel. The cost is not very high. Go with your loved one. No matter where you are, you are happy. Bye Next trip, Kaeng Krachan
