Hello everyone, it's the rainy season. It's time to go find the mountain, the most naturally abundant. This trip, the couple will take everyone to hike Khao Luang Sukhothai. It's the longest, most tiring, and most shocking hike ever. But no matter what, what you get back is very worthwhile. This trip went on 2-3/7/2559, the cost is 1300 baht per person. Details are at the end of the trip.
A rough program would be
The first day, we started late at night and arrived in the morning. We stopped by the market to prepare supplies and then hiked up Khao Luang. We set up our tents, cooked food, and then walked to the viewpoint. In the morning, we went to see the sea of fog at Pha Narai and then hiked down. We visited Sukhothai Historical Park and Wat Si Chum.
For example, all photos were taken with Nikon D5300 18-140 and Gopro hero 4 silver.
This trip has a total of 6 people. 2 of them went to Sukhothai to wait for us. So I decided to leave at night so that we could get there and rest. I asked them to book a hotel in Sukhothai city for 350 baht. We started picking up all the members at around 10:30 pm and then headed out on the Asian Highway. We met up with another member of the group who was driving back home to Tak province, so we drove together from Nakhon Sawan to Kamphaeng Phet.
But then the shocking incident happened before we even got anywhere. The obstacle came out of nowhere. We were driving at 140 km/h when a dead dog suddenly appeared in front of us. The car in front of us was high enough to avoid it, but my car hit it head-on with a loud bang. It was around 1 am near Kamphaeng Phet. The car swerved and the smell of burning filled the car immediately. We were all shocked and immediately pulled over to the side of the road.
Luckily, I was with P' another person who happened to have cable ties in their car. It seems that the skull hit the front bumper hard enough to crumple the beam, causing the radiator to come loose. The burning smell was the smell of dog meat hitting the car's exhaust pipe, and the burning smell entered the car. I looked under the car and saw red meat stuck to the exhaust pipe. I checked the damage and found that the right fender was missing, the beam was crumpled, and the radiator was loose. I was discouraged, but I decided to wait and see. After a while, the car started normally and the temperature did not rise. I tied it with cable ties and continued driving.
After parting ways with the other car, we had about 80 kilometers left to go. We drove at a constant speed of 60 kilometers per hour all the way, lol. Until we reached the hotel that the other car had booked for us. This picture was taken in the morning, looking outside it might seem like nothing is wrong, but inside it was really bruised.
The summary is that I drove with the radiator held together by a cable tie all the way to Pranburi, Chiang Khan, and Thap Baek. The car is now fixed, but it cost me over 6,000 baht. As I type this, I'm actually stranded again. 😂 I just spent a lot of money on car repairs, but I'm already planning my next trip. Time to start saving!
We continued our journey until almost 4 am. We slept for a little over 2 hours, woke up, showered, and left the hotel around 7 am. We headed straight to Kiree Maas Market to stock up on supplies. The food was up to each team to decide what they wanted to eat.
You need to buy lunch on the mountain, dinner, and breakfast for tomorrow.
And then we came out to the mouth of the alleyway at the entrance to the market. We stopped to eat breakfast together before buying some plain rice and a grilled chicken to take up to Khao Luang. There's a 7-Eleven here too, so you can buy things there.
After we were full of energy and supplies, we ran into the alley opposite the market entrance for another 20 kilometers. It wasn't long before we arrived at the entrance of the park.
Please contact the officer to pay the entrance fee of 300 baht in total.
We're here, let's go in.
Drive another 2 kilometers to reach the inner park's parking lot. Here, prepare any items you want the porters to carry and put them in waterproof bags. If it rains, the porters won't be able to take care of all your belongings, so you'll need to help cover them. The porter fee is 25 baht per kilometer, and payment is collected at the top.
Walk a little further and you will find the park office. If you want to rent a tent, blanket, or sleeping mat, please register and pay here. You will receive a receipt to collect your items upstairs.
Members, get ready! For those on the right, there will be a convenience store and a restaurant where you can buy water and recharge your energy before moving on.
Before I start walking, let me recommend the shoes first. This picture is from the internet. I use studded shoes like this one. It costs 120 baht per pair in Bangkok. But another brother bought it near Uttaradit for only 50 baht. Let me tell you that these studs are awesome. They grip the ground so well that I can walk easily. I didn't fall at all. I'll tell you more about it along the way.
Arriving at this sign, I asked to take a picture. There were officers who came to take pictures of each group of tourists to keep as a report. I asked them to take a picture of us.
Starting from the right-hand sign, pay your respects for good luck.
It's time to start! We've been itching for this for a long time. 555 We started walking at 9:30. Let's see what time we'll arrive.
The initial part of the trail is relatively easy, with flat terrain that allows for a relaxed and enjoyable experience.
Take photos of everything, our energy is full at the moment.
Oh, you're stopping at every stop. We've only covered about 300 meters so far. The real challenge starts now.
This is the way it is, it's been like this for about 3 kilometers and it's still going up.
This cold towel is very helpful. I recommend bringing at least one per person. It's cool and refreshing.
We're starting to get tired now. At first, we were determined not to hire porters, but now we're glad we did. Just walking around with our backpacks makes us tired. One of our friends is carrying a backpack with a roasted chicken in it, and he doesn't even want to eat it. Haha.
The slope gradually became steeper, but we didn't give up. We passed through a bamboo forest and used bamboo poles as walking sticks, which helped a lot. They were lightweight and perfect for the terrain.
The shortness of breath has started.
After that, she had this expression on her face, pouting and not looking at the camera.
But with a view like this, I'll just sit and relax for a while.
We've been walking for about an hour now, and we're probably about a kilometer into the hike.
Please continue.
I haven't been using it much lately because the camera is just too heavy.
Phorn is probably reviewing something. He's been standing still for a long time. 555
At least the view along the way is like this.
At this viewpoint, I estimate we're almost halfway there. Let's take another break. On Khao Luang, there are usually water refill points along the way, but before I went, there was a wildfire that burned down the water pipes. So there was no water at all, so we had to bring our own, but no more than 2 bottles per person. Just sip it, don't drink too much or you'll get full.
That office building down there is quite a walk from here.
Really beautiful
After this viewpoint, it will be a dense forest. There won't be much of a view or wind, and there will be a lot of mosquitoes, so make sure to bring mosquito repellent. After entering the dense forest, I hardly took any pictures. There were signs indicating different photo spots, but I was too tired. When I finally stopped for a short break, the mosquitoes swarmed me, so I had to keep walking. We are now divided into two teams. We didn't plan to split up, but after walking for a while and taking a break, the mosquitoes started biting us, so we couldn't stop and just kept walking. Now, we're quite spread out. I'm the leader of the team, so I've been walking steadily and am ahead of the others. I left my girlfriend and friend behind, but when I found an open area with a breeze and no mosquitoes, I stopped to eat sticky rice with pork with two other people. We waited for the other team, but they didn't come for a long time. I suspect they stopped to eat too, because the grilled chicken was in Phran Yod's bag. It's now past noon, and we've passed a food vendor. The vendor told us that it's another 900 meters to Jai Cheun. Let's keep going!
After we were full, we continued walking. There was a final 300-meter flat section that made us rejoice, thinking, "We're finally here! This is easy!" But then came the final 200 meters, which were so steep that we almost choked. Our upper leg muscles were throbbing, and we could barely stand it. To make matters worse, we suddenly had to poop. We had felt a slight urge halfway through, but it was nothing major. We figured it was just our food digesting. But now, the pain was excruciating, especially in the final 100 meters. However, when we saw this sign, we couldn't help but cheer. We had finally arrived! Hooray!
As soon as I got up, I immediately went to the bathroom. The bathroom was clean and comfortable to use, and the water was super cold. It was so refreshing! I left a reminder on the top of Khao Luang Mountain and felt relieved. 5555
I sat and enjoyed the view while waiting for the next set. In total, I spent 3.45 hours walking. I started at 9:30 am and finished at 1:15 pm. It wasn't too slow or too fast, just the right pace. I have to give credit to Doi Suthep, the trail was easy to walk and didn't tire me out. The steps were very good.
And then our next set arrived, but hey, where did our hunter Yo go?
Oh, here it is. Come on, Pan Yo, fight a little more, we're almost there. 555
The last part was the most tiring. In the end, it took 4.30 hours to complete the set. We arrived at 2 pm, just in time to meet our porters.
Then you pay for the porter at the pavilion. Mine cost more than 600 baht. Then hand the receipt to the tent officer and they will arrange it for you. Choose to pitch your tent as you wish.
There are plenty of tents today, with an estimated 50-60 people. The rest are abundant. As for us, we chose to camp under the covered pavilion, fearing rain as we didn't bring enough rain gear. We didn't want to sleep in the rain. However, other groups came fully prepared with rain gear and set up their tents outside. We were the only ones who requested to stay under the shelter. We are currently resting and drinking water. Canned soft drinks cost around 30 or 35 baht. The shop also sells water and dry food.
Feeling tired, having a Coke is really refreshing.
Around 3 pm, it was time to continue our journey. Our goal was to conquer all the peaks on Khao Luang that could be walked in a circle. So, let's go!
The goal is to go to Khao Phuka, he said it was very beautiful.
Walked a bit and found another steep path. My legs are starting to get tired.
"Hey, you guys walk a little faster, are you still kids with no energy? 555 Actually, my brother isn't that old."
After passing the Khao Narai intersection, we turned left towards Khao Mae Ya, which can be walked in a circle. We entered the dense forest again, and the sky began to darken.
After walking for a while, I felt like it was going to rain. There was a lot of white mist.
It's getting darker.
We arrived at Khao Mae Ya intersection and took some photos.
At this moment, I can't see anything. It's all white. The fog is hitting me, and it's cold and refreshing. It's so cool.
It's a shame we couldn't see any views because it started raining when we took this picture. There was also thunder, so we decided that if we walked on, we wouldn't see anything, so we had to cancel the mission and walk back.
Luckily, we all came prepared with raincoats because we thought that coming to the forest during the rainy season, we would definitely have to walk in the rain. And it's a good thing we did. If we had encountered it when we first started walking, it would have been much more tiring.
The rain was pouring down heavily, making the ground soggy. But I still want to praise the stud doy as usual. He walked so well that even though it was slippery, he didn't lose his balance much and didn't fall. He walked so calmly. Amazing. Hehe.
Upon arriving at the campsite, it seemed the rain had stopped, but the fog was still thick and white. Luckily, we had set up our tent in the pavilion, as we had left all our belongings outside, not expecting it to rain at this time. We were lucky to have escaped the downpour.
After that, we went to take a shower and prepare to cook dinner. Today we will make a simple meal of instant noodles with canned fish, rice, and grilled chicken bought from the market. The first step is to light the fire. This outdoor gas stove is useful, but it's important to choose one that is efficient. This one was prepared by Phran Yod. When we first turned it on, the gas came out with a lot of force, which was dangerous. It's a good thing we were in an open area. We kept turning it on and off, and it finally stopped working. Luckily, we were able to light it with a lighter.
Phran Yo showed off his fire-starting skills, almost burning off his eyebrows in the process. Haha! We call him Phran Yo not because he's actually a hunter, but because my friend came fully equipped with camping gear, including a field kitchen, a camp stove, binoculars, and a flashlight.
The pots, pans, plates, bowls, and stoves can be rented from the top for a small fee. This will help maintain the site.
And then it turned out like this: Tom Yum Mama with canned fish.
The food may not look very appetizing, but I can tell you that it was delicious. It was raining all the time, from the evening, sometimes light, sometimes heavy. Getting to sip hot soup at that time was indescribable. Ordinary food, but eaten in a good atmosphere, with close friends, made the taste of that meal colorful and instantly more delicious.
After finishing our meal, we chatted for a while. As the rain continued to fall, we decided to call it a night and went to bed around 10 pm. We were hoping to wake up early the next morning to see the beautiful sea of fog.
And then, like a dream come true, it was like a reward for our perseverance. If we had given up on the trip from the moment we hit the dog, we wouldn't have had the chance to see such beautiful things again. After it rained all night until after 5:00 am, when the rain stopped, nature created a beautiful sea of fog for us to behold. At first, I set my alarm for 5:00 am, but I heard the sound of rain on the roof and thought it wouldn't stop. Until 6:00 am, I started to get bored why the rain didn't stop, so I went out to see what happened. It turned out that the rain had stopped, but it was the sound of rainwater from the leaves that the wind blew, causing the rainwater to fall on the roof with a loud bang. I walked to the Conqueror's sign and looked out to see a fluffy white fog. I was sure there must be a lot of sea fog, so I hurried to wake up my friends and go to Pha Narai together. My girlfriend and I didn't hesitate to go ahead first.
This photo was taken on the way to Pha Narai.
We have arrived at Pha Narai, a 360-degree sea of mist. Let's go see it!
This is my signature move 555
The sea of fog is amazing today.
We've arrived and checked in at the Ta Khop Rak Talong Tour. Hehe.
The hunter threw the net into the water.
Let's take a look at the top of Narai Cliff. The white mist is so thick that it blends in with the sky. Today, the sun is shy and doesn't come out. So the sky is white and blends in with the sea of mist.
Enjoy the mist to the fullest.
We descended to the tent site to prepare breakfast and then walked down. The atmosphere was still cool and comfortable.
This gas stove is good and useful.
On a cool morning like this, nothing beats instant noodles with quail eggs. I brought them from Bangkok and we each added a small packet for an extra kick. It's a delicious and affordable meal that fits the atmosphere perfectly.
Get ready to go down and collect your belongings. Take your things to the weigher. There is no more food, but why is the weight still the same? Phranyod asked to walk freely for a while. On the way up, he had a full bag of things, so he asked his son to carry them on the way back. This time, it was more than 600 baht as usual. After that, he walked down at 9:30 as usual. This time, he was able to take pictures of the places he didn't take pictures of when he came.
This downhill walk isn't hot at all. The forest is very lush and refreshing. You can breathe deeply and feel the freshness.
The nature is abundant.
The fog covered the entire descent.
I arrived at the viewpoint yesterday, but now it's all white fog and I can't see the view. I'm going to have to praise Doi again.
Here's a look at the shoes. The studs are full of mud from the heavy rain in the forest, making the ground muddy. But the studs held up well. My left foot slipped and I was about to fall, but my right foot held firm and pulled me back. It saved me from falling several times. They're amazing! 555
The descent was continuous until we reached the last section, which was rocky and steep. Braking would have caused knee pain, so we decided to run down. It wasn't exactly running, but we kept our steps going, descending quickly without braking. This way, we avoided knee pain and glided down smoothly. The shoes performed exceptionally well, gripping every step. 5555 Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating, but they were really good. If you're going hiking, I highly recommend wearing these shoes. You don't need expensive ones; these will do the job.
Seeing this sign made me cheer again. On the way down, I managed a time of 2.30 hours. The rest of the way took me 3-3.15 hours.
After coming down, we took another shower. There was a clean bathroom, but the water pressure wasn't very strong. The water was still cold, but not as cold as the top, which was freezing. After that, we took a group photo at the entrance and prepared to go back. I'll come back again if I have the chance, Khao Luang, but probably not anytime soon because my knees are killing me. 555
It was then time for lunch, so I opened the app to find a delicious restaurant. I found Sukhothai Noodle, Jae Hae, which is located right on the side of the road, so it's not hard to find.
The taste is good and delicious.
The stir-fried noodles with fresh shrimp are also delicious. This restaurant is great!
After leaving the shop, don't forget to stop by Sukhothai Historical Park when you arrive in Sukhothai.
In the park, you can drive your car inside because it is very large. After paying the entrance fee for both people and cars, you will be given a map to choose which points you want to drive to. Let's go see the pictures.
Let me meditate for a moment to calm my mind. 555
Drive around and look at things.
Closing with the Siamese twins of Vios 55
Today's final destination is Wat Si Chum. For Wat Si Chum, there is a separate entrance fee that is not included in the park entrance fee. The entrance fee is 20 baht per person and allows access to both Wat Si Chum and Wat Phra Phlai Luang.
Inside Wat Sri Chum, there is a beautiful and magnificent Buddha statue enshrined in a pavilion called "Phra Phuttha Achanah".
All goals achieved.
We left Wat Si Chum around 4 pm and stopped for dinner near Sing Buri around 7 pm. Everyone arrived home safely around 11 pm. That's the end of our 2-day, 1-night trip. It would have been almost happy if the car hadn't crashed at the start of the trip, but anyway, all the stories along the way gave us new experiences.

For my car, it will be divided by 4. The rest of the expenses will be divided equally among everyone.
Another trip has come to an end. Every journey always has memorable stories along the way. Don't worry if the destination turns out as planned. If it does, consider it a bonus. After all, it's the memories made along the way that make me happy every time I travel.
