I have been to Chiang Mai countless times. I have been there so many times that I am tired of just sleeping and eating. I have been to almost every place. But then I suddenly wanted to try visiting Chiang Mai during the rainy season. I wanted to know if it would feel different. I wanted to go on a sudden trip again. I asked people to join me, but no one was available. What should I do? My heart was already set on going, so I decided to go.

I'm looking to book a flight and hotel package with a tour through www.sawadee.com. I'm traveling solo and I'm interested in exploring some unique and off-the-beaten-path destinations in Chiang Mai. Ideally, I'd like to discover places that are not well-known to Thai tourists.

This trip was a breeze, thanks to Sawasdee.com taking care of everything. I was busy with personal errands right up until my flight, only booking the trip two days beforehand. They sent me a selection of tour programs, all of which seemed pretty similar. One of the plans included places I'd never been to before, some of which I'd only heard of in passing. I was surprised to see some places I'd never heard of, even though I've been to Chiang Mai many times before. I decided to go with the plan that included the places I didn't know. After confirming the plan and dates, Sawasdee sent me my flight and hotel confirmations, as well as the tour itinerary, via email. All I had to do was pack my bags and go.

The tour company confirmed our pick-up time at the airport, and we were excited to finally embark on our journey. We flew to Chiang Mai with Thai Smile Airways, which offered free seat selection, a 20kg baggage allowance, and complimentary water and snacks on board. After checking in and receiving our boarding passes, we headed to Starbucks for a hot mocha to combat the sleepiness caused by our excitement the previous night.

Let me check my ticket. Gate 54? I'm not familiar with it. It must be a newly opened gate. It's a long walk, but I finally found my favorite Bonchon. Unfortunately, I'm already full.

The newly renovated gate is impressive and grand. As expected, new things tend to look good. However, I appreciate the multiple restrooms, even though they are a bit far away. Soon, it was time to board the plane. I wasn't in a hurry, but as soon as the staff announced boarding, I walked to the front of the line. As usual, I fell asleep before the plane even took off. The hot mocha I had earlier probably didn't help. The view of Bangkok is truly beautiful.

After that, I encountered a snack. I haven't traveled with Thai Smile for several months. They have switched to using paper bags instead. I actually liked the old bag because I could use it again beforehand, but they changed it to a paper bag to reduce global warming. After the announcement, they will serve water again. What can a heroine miss? Orange juice, please. Let's go for it.

Air beamed a bright smile early in the morning. After an hour and 15 minutes, the plane landed at Chiang Mai Airport.

After receiving the bag, I went to wait at Gate 2 as arranged. After a while, my brother drove to pick me up. Hello, brother. I was a little shy. The brother who picked me up and will take care of me is Nan, a beautiful woman from Chiang Mai. Nan also recommended tourist attractions here and there. So I told Nan, "I'm a little excited about this trip because I've never been to any of the places we're going to visit." Before I came, I prayed that it wouldn't rain. I want to have fun and relax.

The first stop of this trip is Khao Mai Lanna Resort. Many years ago, my mother told me that there was a very beautiful resort in Chiang Mai. Today, I finally got to visit it and took photos to show my mother. This is the place she told me about, and it's as beautiful as she said. Before entering, you must inform the security guard in front of the resort whether you are visiting for coffee or staying overnight. They will then give you a parking card. Do not lose it, as you will need it when you leave. After parking your car, walk to the resort lobby and order drinks or food there.

We then walked to the poolside for lunch, taking photos along the way. The resort boasts an abundance of large, mature trees, creating a wonderfully shaded and lush atmosphere.

Feeling refreshed, truly fresh. I arrived early, so the weather wasn't too hot.

After taking a stroll, snapping some photos, and enjoying a refreshing iced cocoa, we continued our journey.

The Second Destination: The Ganesha Museum

The second destination on our itinerary was the Ganesha Museum. While the museum has been around for several years, we were previously unaware of its existence, as we typically prefer visiting older temples. Our guide, Nan, provided a brief history of the museum, highlighting its popularity among prominent figures, including politicians, business leaders, and celebrities. The museum houses an impressive collection of over a thousand Ganesha statues.

The interior is beautifully decorated with many zones to explore. There are replicas of temples from various cities. The site is constantly expanding, offering numerous angles and photo opportunities. All of the corners are stunning, and best of all, admission is free.

Another interesting activity is that there are free guest or Indian costumes to rent. If you want to wear a more stylish outfit, you can rent it for 200 baht. There are also many accessories to choose from. It's really cool.

Dress appropriately for the location and atmosphere. Take a leisurely stroll and take pictures. This place is quite interesting in terms of its design. It is recommended for those who enjoy taking pictures.

After that, we continued our journey to Pha Cho National Park. I had wanted to come here for a long time, but no one would take me because I usually go everywhere with my parents. This place might be a bit rough for older people. Let me tell you, Pha Cho is not suitable for people with pre-existing conditions, such as asthma or heart disease, because you will sweat and walk about 400 meters.

To reach the top of the high stairs, don't forget to bring some water to sip along the way. Pha Chor is a natural erosion of the soil layer.

According to Nan, this was once the course of the Ping River. The cliffs, formed by layers of sediment, have been eroded into the intricate patterns we see today. A testament to the wonders of nature's artistry. Initially, I thought the 400-meter distance would be a breeze, but I soon realized otherwise. We had to climb two sets of stairs, the last of which was incredibly steep. Just a little longer, I thought, and pushed on.

It was truly beautiful, but also incredibly hot. The heat was so intense that I was sweating profusely, and my face felt like it was melting.

On the way back, we will take a different route, which may require us to walk through a narrow passage. Please be careful when walking. Another suggestion is that if it rains on any day, you should not come here because it may be difficult to travel and get dirty. But if the weather is good, let's go for it.

This is our beautiful guide, P'Nan, who is taking us on an exciting tour for this trip.

The final destination for today was the Grand Canyon Chiang Mai, a well-known attraction. Although I had heard of it, I had never been there myself due to my fear of heights. However, with Nan's encouragement, I decided to give it a try. The canyon was impressive, with crystal-clear emerald-green water and a large pool. Standing on the cliff edge and looking down, I couldn't help but feel a slight tremor in my legs.

Recently, a new Grand Canyon Water Park has opened, attracting many foreign tourists. The park has different zones, and the entrance fee is paid separately at each zone. Choose the zone that suits your preference.

Today, we sweated a lot from Pha Chor. We are so hungry that we are seeing stars. Let's go eat stir-fried chicken noodles at Nimmanha. Be sure to check which side of the street you can park on in front of the restaurant on the day you go, or you might get your wheels locked by the police.

I'll have what the name of the restaurant suggests, the stir-fried chicken noodles on a hot pan, some grilled meatballs, and a large glass of chrysanthemum tea to cool me down.

After we were full, we walked to the next-door shop, Iberry, which is owned by Note Udom. The shop was also crowded today.

It's time to check in. The first night we will sleep at the S17 @ Nimman Hotel. For accommodation, Sawasdee.com will let us choose which hotel we want to stay in. There are many to choose from. The reason I chose to stay at this hotel is because it is a newly opened hotel. I don't like loud noises, so I chose to stay in the good zone. The hotel is bigger than I expected. There is ample parking space both in front and behind the hotel. After checking in, we went up to our room. We got room 209, which is a Superior room. The room is spacious and large. It's simple but looks good. I like it. It has all the necessary equipment.

Another day has passed, and Nan went back to work at the company. I took a shower and rested because I was tired from the whole day.

Day Two of the Trip

The sound of rain woke me up before my alarm clock. I got out of bed and opened the curtains to see heavy rain falling. It was around 7:30 am. My sister, Nan, called me at that moment and asked if it was raining in the city. I told her it was raining heavily. She said she would pick me up 30 minutes late because of the rain. I agreed and started getting ready. Our plan was to start at 9:30 am, so I showered, got dressed, and went down to the first floor for breakfast. I gave the coupon to the staff and took some food. The breakfast was a typical buffet with eggs, sausages, ham, salad, rice, coffee, orange juice, and lemon tea.

After getting ready and packing, I went downstairs to check out. Luckily, Nan was there to pick me up.

Today's Schedule: A Day Trip

Note: The original Thai sentence is incomplete and lacks context. This translation provides a possible interpretation based on the limited information available.

Our first stop is Wat Den Sali Muang Gaen, located in Inthakhin Subdistrict, Mae Taeng District, Chiang Mai Province. Originally known simply as Wat Ban Den, the temple was designed and built by Kru Ba Chao Theung Nathasilo, a renowned monk from Chiang Mai. Although not an architect by profession, Kru Ba Chao Theung possessed an exceptional vision, conceptualizing and constructing the temple according to his own inspirations. The result is a truly remarkable and aesthetically pleasing structure. Initially a small temple, Wat Den Sali Muang Gaen has undergone significant development and expansion due to the unwavering faith of Buddhist devotees towards Kru Ba Chao Theung Nathasilo, a revered northern monk who resided at the temple. This transformation has resulted in a magnificent edifice that embodies the essence of Lanna Buddhist art.

The view from the temple offers a breathtaking panorama of the rice fields on the other side, as the temple is situated on a hilltop. Remarkably, while taking photos, a Chinese family of three approached and asked me to take their picture. After I did, they pointed to the setting sun.

We were wondering why our eyes were stinging so much. Upon closer inspection, we realized that the sun was actually setting.

Feeling a bit peckish, let's grab a bite to eat. Nearby, there's Phu San Fah Resort, which has a restaurant. We can have lunch there and then take a stroll to admire the rice paddy views. This resort is truly stunning during the rice-planting season, as it sits right by the lush green fields. On the right, you'll see rolling hills, and just a few kilometers from here lies the Maengat Dam. However, it's a bit too hot today, so we'll save that for another time, perhaps during the cooler winter months.

Let's drive to the city in the morning. Where should we go? Nan asked, "Have you ever been to Ang Kaew?" "Which Ang Kaew?" I asked. "Let's go," she said, "I'll take you there." It turned out to be a reservoir at Chiang Mai University. To be honest, I've never been here either. The water reflecting the sky and trees is quite beautiful.

Nan drove us to Kalare Restaurant, renowned for its garden-like setting. The restaurant boasts a stunning floral decor, with fresh flowers replaced weekly to maintain their vibrant beauty.

There is a chance to take my parents to try it out. If we come in the evening, the atmosphere will be good. Plus, there is a hidden view of Chiang Mai city to enjoy.

The weather is getting hot even though it rained heavily this morning. Let's go get ice cream at Baan Khang Wat. The name sounds cool again.

This area will be developed to resemble an old-fashioned two-story house with restaurants, cafes, ice cream shops, and souvenir shops for visitors to stroll and take stylish photos. It sounds like a charming idea.

At the back, there is a vegetable plot and a bathroom in the back zone. So we sat down to eat ice cream to cool down.

It's time to check in. Tonight, we will be staying at the At Niman Conceptual Home Hotel, a small boutique hotel. I saw the pictures on the Sawasdee.com website and loved it, so I chose to stay here. The decor style is quite unconventional and has an indescribable charm. It blends various cultures seamlessly.

The room we stayed in was room 202. The room was not too big or too small, it was just the right size. It was very beautiful. During check-in, the staff turned on the air conditioner for us before we arrived. After check-in, they asked us to choose our breakfast. What I liked was that the menu had options from famous restaurants in Chiang Mai. The breakfast was for two people, but I was staying alone, so I could choose two dishes. I chose kway chap from a restaurant I can't remember the name of, and also some northern Thai food. Then the staff took us up to our room.

The hotel also boasts a vast collection of Blu-ray movies, offering guests hundreds of titles to choose from and enjoy in the comfort of their rooms. I particularly appreciate hotels like this, which, despite their modest size, pay meticulous attention to every detail. It was a truly memorable experience. After selecting a film, we settled in and thoroughly enjoyed watching it.

In the evening, we went downstairs to find a spot to take photos. At night, the hotel turned on the lights and lit candles, creating a very romantic atmosphere. There were also many great spots for taking photos.

Stayed up late watching movies, so I'll sleep in late.

It's time for breakfast at 9 am. I showered and got dressed to go down to eat by the pool. Look at that, I'm eating alone with a table full of food. I feel like a princess in a palace. My imagination is running wild this morning. The food is arranged so beautifully. I told you they really pay attention to every detail.

After finishing our meal, we went upstairs to pack our belongings and check out, as Nan was waiting to take us to the airport. The journey from the hotel to the airport took only 15 minutes due to the lack of traffic. We flew back to Bangkok on Thai Smile Airways, departing at 12:50 PM and arriving at Don Mueang Airport at 2:00 PM. However, upon arrival, we discovered that my mother-in-law had driven to Suvarnabhumi Airport to pick us up. Consequently, we had to wait for an extended period. This concludes our trip.

I would like to express my gratitude to www.sawadee.com for organizing my 3-day, 2-night trip to Chiang Mai.

Thank you, Nan, for making this trip perfect until the end. It was a pleasure meeting you, beautiful sister.
