The Journey Begins: A Solo Adventure to Krabi
This trip was born from a simple desire: to escape to the sea. With friends unavailable, the idea of a solo adventure took root. The freedom to explore at my own pace, to go wherever the wind took me, was an alluring prospect. I decided to venture beyond familiar shores, and Krabi, a province I had yet to experience, emerged as the perfect destination. With dates set, I booked a flight with AirAsia, eager to embark on this journey of self-discovery.
The schedule is as follows: August 26-28, 2016.

Outbound flight: Friday, August 26, 2016 >>> Flight FD 3221, Don Mueang to Krabi, 5:00 PM - 6:15 PM, Price: 1,190.00 THB
Return Flight

August 26, 2016
- Arrived at Don Mueang Airport (Terminal 2) at 3:30 PM. Checked in at the gate, but due to a delay, the flight was rescheduled from 5:00 PM to 5:50 PM.
- Upon arrival at Krabi International Airport at 7:20 PM, you will be greeted by bus and taxi services. The author opted for the bus due to its affordability, costing only 150 baht to Ao Nang. A taxi ride would set you back 500-600 baht (which might be more cost-effective for larger groups).
Before boarding the taxi, whisper to the driver which hotel you will be staying at.
- At 8:15 PM, we arrived at our first destination, the 88 Hotel near Ao Nang. We stayed in a dormitory room with bunk beds. The hotel was relatively quiet, clean, and affordable. It was frequented by both Thai and international guests.
- After checking in and leaving our luggage at the hotel, we went out to find food at 7-Eleven. We then returned to the hotel to prepare for our trip the next day.
August 27, 2016
- 6:10 AM. The tranquil morning atmosphere was illuminated by the soft glow of the rising sun.
- After showering and getting dressed, I went down to the hotel lobby to wait.
- Opt for a tour package with Phuket Tour Holiday (http://www.phukettourholiday.com) and choose the "Krabi Tour: Koh Hong, Talay Nai, Koh Phak Bia, Koh Rai, and Koh Lading by Speedboat (from Krabi)" program, priced at 1,200 baht.
8:10 AM: A minibus will pick you up from your hotel in Krabi and take you to the pier near Ao Nang.
8:30 AM: Arrival at the pier and announcement of assigned boat.
(and pick up additional tour groups at Railay Beach)
09:10 AM: Arrival at Koh Hong and Lagoon Exploration
Upon arrival at Koh Hong at 9:10 AM, visitors are greeted by the breathtaking sight of the emerald-green lagoon. This secluded haven is embraced by towering limestone cliffs, with a narrow passage serving as its entrance.
The only path with a gap of approximately 5 meters wide. A sandbar was found where one could stand, but tourists are not encouraged to go down.
They remained on the boat due to the dangerous conditions caused by the rising tide.
10:00 AM: Journey to Lading Island, a small island where you can immerse yourself in the beauty of nature. This island was once the filming location for the movie "Paradise."

11:00 AM: We set off for Ko Phak Bia. Our guide explained that the island used to be covered in "phak bia" (sea purslane), a type of edible plant. Fishermen and passing boats would often stop here to collect it.
This path is often used to collect purslane for cooking. However, purslane is now much less abundant. This island is not inhabited by monkeys. The island has a section that resembles a "sea parting," with a sandbar connecting it to the mainland. However, the sand here is relatively coarse compared to other islands.
12.00 p.m. on Koh Hong Island, everyone must pay an entrance fee to the national park. The fee is 40 baht for Thai citizens and 400 baht for foreign nationals.
We will have lunch here. There is also a nature trail for walking (which is also a tsunami escape route). The fine sand beach is very beautiful.
* The guide will provide information about the various things on the island.
These are the students who came to do their final project. They explained the different islands to me. Thank you very much.

14:30 p.m. Board the boat and return to the hotel in Ao Nang Beach, The Phu Beach Hotel Krabi, with breakfast included. Booked through Agoda (after reading the reviews above, which mentioned delicious breakfast, good service, and relatively private and clean rooms, I decided to choose this hotel. Price: 2,030 baht/night).
16:00. After bringing in your luggage and taking a short break, open the sliding door at the front, which allows you to swim directly in the pool.
This is the exit door to the swimming pool.
18:00 p.m. After showering and getting dressed, my stomach started to growl, so I ordered room service. I had a mixed seafood tom yum soup with plain rice for 180 baht. The food arrived after about 40 minutes.
At 6:50 PM, the author realized they needed transportation to the airport for the following day. Recalling a photo of the bus they took on arrival, they contacted a friend to arrange a 1:00 PM pickup at their hotel.
August 28, 2016
8:30 AM: After taking care of personal matters, the individual presented a food voucher for breakfast to the staff at the hotel's front dining room.
Almost everything here is delicious. (I tried almost everything, a little bit of everything. 55555)
Let's see what's included.
9:15 AM. I packed my belongings and rested to prepare for my return trip.
11:50 AM Check Out.
12:58 PM: The bus will pick you up at the front of the hotel (it will pick up passengers from other hotels along the way) to travel to the airport.
2:30 PM: Arrive at Krabi International Airport.
Note: Good things are always around us, if we don't overlook them.
