Let's go run and play in the lavender field...

Typically, when Thai people think of lavender fields, there are two main places that come to mind, right? One is in Hokkaido, Japan.

In Provence, France, but when Pat opened the second picture for comparison, the decision was easy.

The French countryside offers a glimpse into authentic agricultural practices, showcasing real farms that operate for agricultural purposes rather than being staged for tourism.

Driven by a love for challenges, we decided to embark on a trip during the hot season. Our journey took place from July 19th to 22nd, 2016.

This trip can be considered as fulfilling one of Pat's bucket list items (which still has hundreds more, hehe).

Roughly speaking, the itinerary involves flying from Thailand to Paris, spending three nights in Paris, and then flying to Marseille to rent a car and explore the surrounding areas.

Pat booked a stay at a Chateau that looked like it was straight out of a fairytale book. The cuteness level was off the charts!

This place is called Chateau Gigognan and only has about 6 rooms. I highly recommend it.

For those looking for a relaxing getaway with a touch of whimsy, this secluded accommodation offers a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

A 20-minute drive from Avignon, surrounded by vineyards. A car is required.

Pat specifically booked the sickeningly sweet pink room, almost making her vomit pink.

I will not post many pictures here. For a detailed review, please visit Pat's page and read it there. (I will post it on the page at the end.)

Pat secretly found the coordinates of the lavender field. This is approximately where it is located. The circled area is where Pat went on the first day.

The friend who accompanied her had been there the previous year and had warned her repeatedly that the event would not be as depicted in the posters.

Why are you here? There are only small patches. Khao Yai is even more beautiful, but Pat doesn't believe it.

No way! Don't crush my dreams! I've come all this way to see the lavender fields.

Vast and boundless, as far as the eye can see.

Following the precise directions on the map, what I saw could hardly be called a field; it was more like the size of a backyard garden.

The heart is starting to feel disappointed, the body is starting to break down from the winding and twisting roads. So I decided that today is enough for us.

We drove to Senanque Abbey, which wasn't far away. There were many people taking pictures for posters.

Even a blind pig finds an acorn now and then.

And then we finally arrived at the actual location. It was truly beautiful. Even from this vantage point, the scenery was breathtaking.

There are small fields suitable for portrait photography.

That evening, we followed the hotel's recommendation and dined at a riverside restaurant near our accommodation.

The ambiance was excellent and very romantic, even though the food was not particularly flavorful.

The trip was worthwhile. When Patch comes to visit, she usually likes to stay in small towns and try local restaurants.

Pat believes that this is the first time a Thai person has visited this store since it opened.

Observing couples on dates in this area creates a pleasant atmosphere.

The second day of the lavender hunt, the threatening friend did not wake up with me.

She will regret missing out on something in life.

This time, Pat has planned the route in advance, so even if she doesn't see the lavender today, she won't have wasted her trip.

This route boasts the stunning Sainte Croix Du Verdon Lake. Pat drove along the D952 road.

Although the winding road was a bit of a headache, it was definitely worth it. In fact, it was even more beautiful than I had imagined.

At that moment, I thought to myself that even if I didn't find lavender, it wouldn't matter. The water was so turquoise.

The roads are surrounded by breathtaking Mediterranean-style mountains. Oh, it's worth it!

In addition to the lake, there is also a charming little town called Moustiers Sainte Marie. Pat recommends having lunch here, but be sure to arrive by noon, as all the shops close at two in the afternoon. Even though it's a tiny town,

The area boasts Michelin-starred restaurants and charming shops that are perfect for a delightful shopping experience.

Having had our fill of bears, we moved on to hunt lavender. This time, Pat was determined not to miss out.

Accessing the Instagram profile of a foreign blogger, referencing the photos we used for our homework, and clicking on the Location.

One place is called Plateau de Valensole, another is called Lavendes Angelvins. Let's go there.

Following the GPS to the destination, I saw scattered lavender fields along the way, which was a refreshing sight.

Until I stumbled upon this yellow field, it had nothing to do with lavender, but I didn't hesitate.

Striking a pose like a poster for The Sound of Music.

At long last, we have arrived at our destination. Tears well up in my eyes. This isn't just a field; it's a mountain, a mountain of purple!

Wow, it's beautiful! It looks just like the poster at the gas station. Patty quickly grabbed her camera and took a picture.

The view was not beautiful at all. It was four o'clock in the afternoon during the summer, and the sun was directly overhead, making it unbearably hot.

The sky is cloudy, making the field appear harsh and unappealing. The light is not flattering, and people's eyes look like panda eyes in photos.

Pat immediately put down the camera and took several deep breaths of the fragrant air. She decided to simply enjoy the sight.

The photography session can wait until later this evening.

Pat decided to drive for another half hour to Lake to sip some cold water and wait. But he found something good instead.

Translation:

Is there anything else I can help you with?

The road leading to the lake is lined with fields of lavender, their purple hues contrasting beautifully with the backdrop of the mountains.

The scenery was breathtaking, but unfortunately, parking was unavailable. I wasn't able to capture any photos, but I've saved the location for future reference.

As per the starred items.

After quenching my thirst, it was time to head to the second location. I was ready, both mentally and sartorially.

We went to Lavendes Angelvin, which is a shop that sells lavender-based products such as soap and perfume.

Pat suggests that we park here to take photos. Besides, she's dressed so tightly, let's support her business a little.

This way, you won't feel guilty. The lavender fields here are just as beautiful and expansive as anywhere else.

Restroom, parking lot, and a tripod for the camera. I didn't see them charging any fees for taking pictures.

While Pat took the photo around six o'clock, the most beautiful time to take photos during this period is actually...

The sky was a pastel blue, and the light was a golden yellow. However, we were worried about returning to our accommodation late.

Feeling hungry, so I decided to take a picture to mark the end of this journey. It's been a fulfilling experience, and I'm grateful for the good company.

This concludes the thread. Thank you very much for following. I will continue with a review of the Italian Riviera.
