Travel in Thailand or travel abroad?
Many people have probably encountered this question before. The answer depends on the individual's taste. Currently, tourism in Thailand is also trendy. Many places are compared to world-class locations abroad. But if you ask where the latest must-visit place is, I'll tell you in short: "Mount Fuji of Thailand." Just the name is already grand! It is considered a brand-new tourist attraction in the province, located at Ban Pha Wai, Puan Phu Subdistrict, Nong Hin District, or what the locals call "Phu Pa Poa."
From the viewpoint of Phu Pha Po, the majestic mountain in the distance appears to be approximately 5 kilometers away. Its towering silhouette bears a striking resemblance to Mount Fuji in Japan, perfectly complementing the perspective of the tilted pavilion.
The mountain was originally called "Phu Ho" or "Phu Kan Tan," and was located in another district called Phu Luang, under the jurisdiction of the Phu Ko - Phu Kra Ta Wildlife Sanctuary. Locals who came to find land to grow corn on Phu Pa Poa happened to see Phu Ho standing majestically in the distance. They then took the village headman and relevant agencies to investigate. It turned out that many people who had visited the Udon Thani area agreed that "This is the Mount Fuji of Thailand."
The Phu Pha Po viewpoint offers stunning views of Mount Fuji. The four viewpoints are within walking distance of each other, covering a total distance of approximately 700 meters.
Point 1: Hello...Fuji
"Ohayo" in Japanese means "good morning." This first point features a viewing platform that extends from the cliff, adorned with bright yellow bachelors' buttons, creating a stunning backdrop against the backdrop of Mount Fuji, Thailand.
Is there anything else I can help you with?
Point 2: Behold, Phu Pha Poa
This confirms that we have arrived at Fuji Town, Thailand, as evidenced by the prominent and beautiful Phu Pa Po sign. Most importantly, don't forget to take a relaxing swing on the swing while enjoying the beautiful view.
Point 3: Skywalk...two sides view
In addition to Mount Fuji, we also saw the beautiful winding paths of Phu Pha Poa along the way. Plus, there were dozens of strangely shaped limestone mountains to enjoy.
Point 4: 360 degrees...Check-In Fuji, Thailand
The climb to the summit is a gentle 200-meter ascent, but the reward is well worth the effort. The panoramic vista from the top offers breathtaking views not only of Mount Fuji, but also of Phu Kradueng, Phu Luang, and Phu Ruea. Moreover, this vantage point, perched at an altitude of 900 meters, provides a spectacular setting for witnessing both sunrise and sunset.
Another charm of climbing Phu Pa Po is the 'E-Taek car', which villagers have modified from agricultural vehicles into tourist buses. It can accommodate up to 8 people (round trip fare is 60 baht per person… the car will leave even if there is only one person). The 'tick-tock' sound of the engine combined with the gentle swaying motion perfectly complements the mountain views on both sides of the road, which nature has created in true samurai style.
Phu Chi Fa in Loei Province reaffirms that Thailand still has many beautiful tourist destinations. As long as we, Thai people, seek and imagine, I believe that Thailand will definitely not run out of them. But for now, let's pack our bags.
'And then to Fuji... which isn't far at all'
