Munnork Nok is home to the only resort, Munnork Island Resort, a truly private island for those seeking relaxation. It boasts white sand, crystal-clear water, and lush greenery.

This trip began with a slip of the hand! While casually reading reviews, I accidentally booked accommodation. When I realized what had happened, the reservation was already confirmed. The lucky resort was Munnork Island Resort. I booked a 3-day, 2-night stay, including round-trip boat transportation and breakfast, for 7,800 Thai baht. The booking was made using a credit card, with the catch being that cancellation would result in a full charge for the first day. Since the booking was already made, I decided to go ahead with the trip.


August 29, 2016

The journey began at 8:00 AM from Rangsit, with ample time to spare as the boat departed promptly at 1:00 PM. Missing the boat would have meant chartering a private one, an expensive proposition. The leisurely drive took over 3 hours, arriving at Laem Tal Pier. After parking the car, we carried our luggage to the check-in office, a small building. There, we received a paper with our room number attached to our bags, which were then placed on a table for staff to collect. At precisely 1:00 PM, we were called to board the boat.

Our boat is now on the roof.

The entire boat has only 5 passengers, leaving plenty of seats to choose from.



During the journey, the rain almost stopped and the sky began to clear. It took 40 minutes to travel, but I must say that the symptoms started to appear after only 10 minutes. On the way, we passed Man Nai and Man Klang islands, but I didn't take any pictures because I wasn't feeling well (seasick).


Upon reaching the island, a smaller boat will pick you up as there is no pier and larger vessels cannot enter. As soon as you step onto the sand, you'll be amazed by its softness, the crystal-clear water, and the idyllic atmosphere.


It also has a swing.


Upon arrival, a water station is available for guests to rinse sand off their feet before check-in. Following check-in, a staff member will escort you to your room.


Room B2

- Upon arriving at the room, our luggage was already placed in front of the door. The staff opened the room and brought the luggage in, informing us of the breakfast and dinner times. (The staff were mostly foreigners, speaking English. There were only about 3-4 Thai staff members that I saw.)


What is this? I came alone and there are two beds and two bathrooms!

How are we going to use all of this? 😄 Let's share it, one bed and one room per day. Otherwise, everyone will be sad. 555+


The front room has a bed for lounging.


After packing our belongings, we walked out to the front of the resort and took some photos of the scenery. This is a popular spot, especially the iconic bridge.


The sea is incredibly beautiful, with crystal-clear water and a stunningly vibrant blue hue.

The lobby and dining room offer stunning sea views, making for a delightful dining experience.


The mascot of this place is the peacock. There are many of them, but none of them spread their feathers for us to see. 555+


The path to room B2 on the left side is room J, and on the right side is room Q.


Room B has a garden view, but the sea is only a 10-step walk away.


After taking photos, it's time to sit back and listen to the sound of the waves. It's the ultimate relaxation.


For dinner, I had crab fried rice, which cost 240 Thai baht. It was a bit expensive, and I could only eat a little because I was still feeling dizzy from the boat. After dinner, I went to bed.

After finishing my meal, I plan to walk around the island. It's a small island, so it only takes about an hour to walk around it.

In the evening, I sat and watched the sunset.

Morning of the 3rd

Compared to the new bedroom, Room Q1 is much more beautiful than Room B. However, we think the view from Room B is better.

This morning, I woke up early and sat idly watching the sunrise.


This morning's breakfast is "seafood rice porridge" with the same view as every day.


This place also has a swimming pool.


While waiting for the boat to arrive, I took a leisurely stroll and snapped some photos.

Summary of expenses

  • Fuel cost 1500 baht (round trip Rangsit-Rayong)
  • Accommodation with breakfast + roundtrip boat fare: 8,700 baht.

- Our food expenses amounted to approximately 800 baht. However, it is important to note that food on the island is quite expensive, with single-dish meals costing upwards of 180 baht.


Advantages

  • The island is beautiful, with crystal-clear water and white sand.

- Peaceful and suitable for relaxation.

  • All staff are friendly.


Disadvantages

  • More Thai-speaking staff would be helpful, especially for those of us who aren't fluent in the language.
