The rainy season is upon us, and many people prefer to stay home and relax rather than venture out. After all, who wants to have their fun dampened by the rain? We were no different... However, when we saw a round-trip flight to Phuket for less than 500 baht, we couldn't resist. And so, the seeds of our trip were sown.

The booking date and the travel date are approximately one year apart, providing ample time for planning, including accommodation, day trips, tourist attractions, and a plethora of delicious restaurants.

Day 1

News of a plane skidding off the runway at Phuket Airport before our trip made us a little nervous. We thought to ourselves, "It's okay, it's okay."

We departed on AirAsia, arriving almost 2 hours early for our 6 pm flight. The weather was overcast, but there was no rain. We just sat and lay down, waiting for our boarding time.

The plane landed safely at Phuket Airport after more than an hour of flight, with no skidding whatsoever. (It seems that the rain has already passed, so we didn't encounter any rain tonight.)

Contact Avis to pick up the car and check the car carefully.

Head straight to Cassia Phuket, located in the Laguna Phuket project. Check in.

The hotel's atmosphere, rooms, and surrounding areas were excellent. We had booked a garden view room, but the hotel offered a free upgrade to a lake view room if it was available. Luckily, we were eligible for the upgrade, so we enjoyed stunning views of the lake.

After admiring the room, we went out to find something to eat. Since we weren't staying in the city center, food options were a bit scarce. We drove for a while and came across a 7-Eleven and a noodle shop. We didn't hesitate and went straight for it.

Afterwards, they bought snacks to enjoy at the hotel (pictured from the room balcony).

Day Two

Our half-day daytrip began in the afternoon, so we didn't have to wake up early. We woke up around 7 am, took care of personal matters, and had breakfast at the hotel.

Stepping out to the hotel pool, wow, the pool is wide, and the surrounding lake view is also great.

What are you waiting for? Take a picture.

And without hesitation, he jumped. Boom!

After playing in the water for a while, it started to rain. I think I'll go back to my room, take a shower, get dressed, and go out.

Before embarking on our yacht cruise, we stopped at the Three Bay Viewpoint (Kata Noi, Kata, Karon beaches forming a crescent shape). It rained lightly on the way, but luckily it didn't rain at the viewpoint, so we were able to take some pictures.

Beautiful

It's almost time for our day trip on the yacht. The tour guide has arranged for us to meet at 13.15 at the Dolphin Pier.

It seems we are the last group to arrive. 55+

A luxury yacht can accommodate 20 tourists, most of whom are Chinese. Only we are Thai.

Despite the gloomy sky, the absence of rain was a blessing. Without further ado, we boarded the yacht.

It's time to set sail for the vast ocean...

Boarding the boat, the guide welcomed us with a refreshing can of Coke to quench our thirst.

The guide informed us that the journey to Ko Mai Thon would take approximately 45 minutes. We were free to relax on the front of the boat, enjoy the scenery, or take stylish photos.

The sky would be more beautiful if the sun were shining. What a pity.

Before reaching Ko Mai Thon, the guide allowed us to snorkel and observe the coral reefs. However, due to the monsoon season, the seawater was not very clear. The guide informed us that we had approximately 30 minutes for snorkeling. Let's begin!

The water is not very clear.

After soaking in the seawater, I mean, the underwater nature, I boarded the boat and returned to the shore.

We have arrived at Ko Mai Thon. The officers will give each of you a wristband. Please do not lose it.

Wide-angle view of Ko Mai Thon (I wish I had a drone T_T)

The beach is very long and the sand is white. The guide told us and the tour group that this is a time to relax on the island, swim, take pictures, and sit or lie on the beach chairs. In one hour, we will meet again to enjoy a buffet lunch.

Leisure activities and relaxation often involve taking pictures around the beach area.

The scenery would be much more beautiful if the sun were shining. (I wish I could go back and take new photos.)

After taking photos, we showered, changed clothes, and went to eat. (fried rice, tom yum soup, fried chicken, barbecue, spaghetti, fruit) I didn't take any pictures because I was so hungry. 55

After a satisfying meal, it was time to return. (In reality, there were many other things to do on the island, including scenic viewpoints. However, due to the constant threat of rain, we did not explore them. It was a bit of a shame.) We walked to the pier.

Farewell to Ko Mai Thon

Embarking on the boat, we were greeted with the sight of approaching rain, darkening the sky. As we sailed, the guide's voice echoed, "Dolphins! Dolphins!" Jolted from our relaxation, we eagerly gathered to witness the spectacle. To our delight, dolphins swam alongside the boat, playfully gliding near the surface. Their presence elicited excited gasps and cheers, seemingly encouraging them to put on an even more impressive show.

The dolphins have left, possibly due to fatigue or venturing too far from their habitat. We then encountered some rain, but it was not heavy. The return trip to shore took approximately 45 minutes. Today's day trip was truly memorable.

After driving into the city, we searched for a light meal. Based on our research, we decided to try the Ko-Chai Pa-Tong-Go restaurant, and it was delicious.

This restaurant is located on Phuket Road (corner of Si Yaek Bang Niao intersection). Street parking is available.

Everyone is full and satisfied. Let's head back to the accommodation.

Day Three

We set out at 5:15 AM to drive to the viewpoint at Khao Laem Ya - Mu Ko Samet National Park to catch the sunrise. The viewpoint was approximately 50 kilometers away from our accommodation, which would take about 1 hour and 15 minutes to reach. As we drove, we anxiously hoped that the weather would cooperate and allow us to witness the sunrise. Fortunately, the rain held off, and we were able to enjoy the breathtaking view.

We have arrived at the entrance of the Samet Nang Chee viewpoint. The entrance fee is 30 baht. The walk up is 300 meters and the path is a bit steep, so be careful not to slip. We are almost there!

The view from the curve ahead is breathtaking. It was definitely worth the hour-long drive. We're the only ones up here, so we can take our time taking photos.

Panorama

This sentence describes a place with a bathroom and the possibility of camping. It suggests that camping would be enjoyable except during the rainy season.

Here is the translation:

There are restrooms available, and camping is permitted on the upper level. Camping would be enjoyable except during the rainy season.

After breakfast at the hotel, we checked out and headed to our next destination, Baan Teelanka. The entrance fee was 250 baht, which seemed a bit expensive.

The staff will guide you on how to take photos from various angles. Let me tell you, it's not too difficult. You'll have a lot of fun taking photos! 55+

It's time for another meal! This time, we're heading to Laem Hin Seafood Restaurant by the sea. Order whatever you like!

With full bellies, we headed to Laem Phromthep to enjoy the fresh air, the beautiful scenery, and the sunset. We were so happy that the sky was clear.

Crowded with people and Chinese tour groups.

We walked down almost to the tip for a beautiful view.

The strong wind almost blew me away. 55+

Drag with 360

Waving goodbye to Phuket, it's time to go to the airport and fly back to Bangkok. This trip taught me that it's not a good idea to visit the sea during the rainy season. 555+

Thank you to everyone who has read and enjoyed our journey. Please like, share, and care for us.
