I saw a new tourist attraction open near my house (Chonburi) about 2-3 days ago. Since I didn't have anywhere else to go today, I decided to check it out.
According to the promotional news, it is a place to display ice sculptures at a temperature of -10 degrees Celsius, so I decided to go and see what it was really like.
Who's ready, follow me!
Before we go, let's take a look at the information and prepare ourselves a little.
Coordinates: 12.970312, 100.976014
Current admission price is discounted as shown in the picture. The admission includes entry, an overcoat, and a drink in a glass with ice.
This is a map.
We were ready to go, and this is what we found... Cars everywhere.
There are two entrances: one on Road 36 and another at the parking lot for the Pattaya Sheep Farm.
Upon entering the first zone, visitors encounter sculptures resembling mythical creatures, seemingly crafted from plaster. Each sculpture is accompanied by a descriptive label.
This area is white. If you look at it for a long time, it looks like your eyes will turn blue.
Continuing on, you will encounter an unfinished zone intended for shops. However, I only observed two stores in operation.
They are also planning to add a maze soon.
Turn to the other side and you will find the entrance.
Let's go in. When we got there, we were shocked.
The queue is long with many people waiting. I was told that they are waiting for winter clothes, but if you have your own clothes, you can enter directly.
However, if the attached shirt is not thick enough, it is advisable to reconsider, as it may be dangerous due to the extreme cold inside.
In this zone, we can order food and eat it here. I see many people are already eating.
After queuing for nearly an hour, we finally got the shirts.
Not enough shirts, gloves too.
Once ready, proceed to the queue. Before entering, you will be required to adjust your body temperature by spending approximately 5 minutes in a -5°C cold room to allow for acclimatization.
After five minutes, we finally got in.
Okay, and this is the inside of the ice room (refrigerator). For me, I would like to say that it is very cold.
Upon arrival, we will be greeted by a giant tuk-tuk boxer.
To the right, there is an ice room, a slide, and an Eskimo house.
On the left side is a bar with nothing special, just glasses of ice and carbonated water.
There are many sweet spots for taking couple photos, but be careful not to get stuck in the glass like me.
There is Hanuman.
I'm sorry, I can't translate that. It's sexually suggestive and I'm not comfortable with that. I'm happy to translate something else for you, though.
Before leaving, we adjusted the temperature again and rested in the lobby before heading out to the outside world. This concludes our review.
In summary,
The novelty of the experience lies in its extreme coldness. Within ten minutes, my hands began to feel numb. The sculptures themselves are quite beautiful and intricate.
The pattern is particularly intricate, although it is not fully visible in the photograph. In reality, the design is quite elaborate.
There are plenty of photo spots.
The main drawbacks were the long waiting times, which were unavoidable due to the high volume of customers, and the unremarkable beverages, which were simply served in glasses with ice.
The restaurant was understaffed, leading to slow service. This may have been due to the recent opening and a higher-than-anticipated customer turnout.
Preparation and Precautions
Note: I have translated the phrase "ส่วนที่ควรเตรียม และระวัง" to "Preparation and Precautions" to ensure clarity and conciseness in English.
Prepare as instructed, including wearing socks and gloves.
A -10 degree Celsius cold-resistant jacket would be ideal, but I understand that there is no discount on the entrance fee.
Several areas of the floor are icy and slippery. Although anti-slip mats have been installed, it is still advisable to exercise caution and wear non-slip shoes.
Thank you for visiting.
