• Hello, this is my first travel review with my family. Actually, my family and I have been to many places, but we haven't reviewed them much. Haha. This Chiang Mai trip is our third family trip to Chiang Mai, and it's been three years in a row. And this time, we didn't come during the New Year's long weekend, but we planned to come when there were fewer people so that we could travel comfortably and easily. So we got the beginning of October, which is almost the end of the rainy season. But I think it will still be beautiful because the rainy season must have made the trees green and not dry. So we decided to come in October. Let's follow along. There are many pictures (because there are fewer tourists).

  • Let's get started. We arrived at the airport because a friend's colleague dropped us off. We would like to thank him for giving us a free ride.

  • Snapping a quick photo before boarding the plane. This is my son's first time flying. He is 2 years and 4 months old. Before coming, he often saw airplanes flying by and said, "Dad... I want to fly on a plane." So my wife and I decided to make it happen for him.

  • Hello, my name is Ployjai. I am 2 years and 4 months old. This is my third trip to Chiang Mai.

We traveled by plane with AirAsia. The tickets were affordable and easy on the wallet.

  • Forget the plane, let me play with rocks for a bit.

  • Read a book.

  • Very tall

  • I've arrived in Chiang Mai. It's sunny. Oh! Mountains. I'm so happy to be in Chiang Mai. Yay! Yay! Yay!

As soon as we arrived, we headed straight up to Doi Suthep. The air was slightly cool. By the time we reached the top, it was already 5 pm, leaving us with very little time. We didn't take many photos because we had to hurry to Baan Klang Luang. We were going to spend the night at a homestay there.

  • We arrived at Baan Klang Luang at 8 pm. We ordered a 500 baht hotpot, which was delicious and better than many places in Bangkok. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the air was cool. The portion was large, and we couldn't finish it even though there were three of us. However, our youngest daughter couldn't eat because she was asleep.

The night sky in Mae Klang Luang is beautiful, with many stars, more than in Bangkok. The weather is also cool. If you plan to visit, be sure to bring a thick long-sleeved shirt.

  • Good morning! The weather is beautiful today. I woke up early and came out to breathe the fresh air. It smells like rice from the fields. It's also cool. I love it!

  • This puppy has been sleeping in front of the room all night. It doesn't bite, it just wants to sleep with you. Please don't hurt it if you see it when you come to stay.

The bright sunshine has arrived. It's time to pack up and head to the top of Doi Inthanon.

If you're interested in a relaxing getaway, look no further! This charming spot nestled amidst rice paddies offers a tranquil escape. Please note that this is not a sponsored recommendation; I simply want to share this hidden gem where you can breathe in the fresh air and recharge your batteries.

  • A panoramic view before heading up to Doi Inthanon. This photo was taken with an iPhone and it looks great.

  • Take your little brother to eat at Kiew Mae Pan. There are many restaurants, food stalls, and rice porridge shops. The prices are reasonable (how much?). Hehe.

  • I have been to the northernmost point of Thailand many times, but I have never been able to take a picture because it is always crowded.

  • Oh my God, King Inthawichayanon!

  • This is the main evidence point for the highest point. However, it used to be located at the Ku of Phra Chao Inthawichayanon. It was moved to the back because people liked to walk around the Ku, which caused the green moss and ferns to die because of the heat from human bodies. (I heard this from the guide, haha)

  • Nong Pochajai met her friends and stood talking and playing with them for quite some time.

  • Wow, it's quite chilly, but the temperature was already 15-17 degrees Celsius when we went up.

  • After experiencing the cool weather and taking photos with the sign, we continued our journey to the Bo Kaew Pine Forest, which took almost 2 hours to drive.

  • She's enjoying dancing to island music right now. 555+

  • We drove for two hours but stayed for less than 20 minutes because it started raining a little. So we had to leave quickly. We went back to Chiang Mai city, but on the way, we could have stopped by "Ob Luang". I didn't stop because my daughter was asleep, so we had to go back to Chiang Mai city. Then we checked in at "Ob Aun Homestay".

After checking into our accommodation, we went to eat at the back of Chiang Mai University. There are tons of food options there, so many that we couldn't decide! I forgot to bring my camera, so I didn't take any pictures. Afterwards, we walked to Tha Pae Walking Street, which was very crowded, as usual. There were mostly foreign tourists, and there were many things to buy, including handmade and local products. We bought a few things that we liked.

We didn't walk around much because our youngest child was getting sleepy, so we had to head back to our accommodation.

This temple is located near Tha Pae Gate. There are many shops and restaurants in the area. I can't remember the name of the temple, I forgot!

  • Ob Aun Homestay is a stylish home stay that offers something new every year. It's also quiet and affordable.

  • Take a picture of your girlfriend, the angle is perfect.

  • The classic Vespa is still the same every time I see it. It starts up and runs well. The owner has taken good care of it.

  • If you've seen the Thai version of Coffee Prince, you'll probably remember it. Hehe, even after three years, the flowers are still as bright as ever.

  • The highlight of this place is the "Pork Bone Rice Porridge" (brown rice), which is a complimentary breakfast dish. Not only is it free, but it's also delicious. The pork is tender, and the broth is flavorful. The quality remains consistently high, so it's a must-try.

  • However, it seems that the child prefers to eat chicken leg snacks more. Just kidding, the child also ate a lot of rice porridge.

  • After finishing rice porridge, I sat down to digest with my child. It's rare for my child to sit still for a photo, but I was only able to capture their back.

After taking a bath, the child went outside and found a broom and dustpan. Without hesitation, the child swept the floor for them. This child can't resist a broom.

  • After leaving the cozy Ob-Aun Homestay, we continued our journey to Wat Umong. This temple is incredibly serene, with lush trees and a peaceful atmosphere. It is considered a significant historical temple in Lanna.

  • The exterior of the tunnel entrance is green and beautiful.

  • The tunnel walls are decorated with faint murals. Replicas of these murals can be viewed at the Chiang Mai Cultural and Art Centre, specifically in the Chiang Mai History Hall.

  • Nong Pochajai stood still. "No, I'm just watching the ants."

  • Exiting Wat Umong, we arrived at another temple, Wat Phra Singh, a significant temple in Chiang Mai located within the city walls. The signage clearly indicated our arrival. The statue depicted here is of "Kru Ba Srivichai." For further details, please refer to other sources, as I cannot recall the information I learned and do not want to risk providing inaccurate information.

  • The ubosot and the bell-shaped Lanna-style chedi. Women are not allowed to enter the ubosot, which has bai sema. This is a Lanna tradition.

  • The exquisite murals of Wat Phra Singh's Wihan Lai Kham are a must-see.

  • The scripture hall. I'm not sure if they still keep the scriptures inside. The stucco angel patterns are very beautiful. But if you have time, I recommend visiting Wat Chet Yot as well. It's not far away, right on the Super Highway.

After visiting the temple to pay respects to the Buddha and receive blessings, we continued our journey to Mon Ing Dao, Mon Tawan, and Mon Cham.

  • It's very hot and they just planted flowers to welcome tourists for the New Year, so there are no flowers yet.

  • Mon Cham is clear, the sun is clear.

  • Here we are at the highlight of our trip, "Baan Rabeang Dao". We booked it six months in advance, and it's a good thing we did because it's often fully booked. So, if you're planning to visit, be sure to book ahead.
  • Getting here is easy. The road is paved all the way, and even small cars can make it. However, the road is quite steep and narrow, so please be careful on every curve. It's also a good idea to honk your horn at every turn for safety.

  • It was a bit foggy when I arrived around 5 pm.
  • The dinner here was delicious, even though it was just simple home-cooked food. You should definitely try it!

  • The sky was very bright, but I could still see a lot of stars.

  • The lighting is great, so I snapped a quick photo. This is the best I could do with my lens.

  • Although the sky was bright, the stars were still visible. I even saw a shooting star, but it was just a brief flash of light. I was sitting there sipping beer and saw it 2-3 times. I wasn't drunk, I assure you.

  • The stars are so dense, even though the sky is bright.

  • Good morning! The weather is so nice today. It's cool and refreshing. As soon as I opened the door to my house, I was greeted by this beautiful scenery.

  • Beautiful view with breakfast, including rice porridge with pork, coffee, Ovaltine, hot water, and tea.

  • I like to be photographed from behind. I don't know why.

  • Beautiful view from my balcony.

  • Me myself, hehe.

  • Coffee for tens, views for hundreds of thousands. The coffee tastes good.

  • Capture a moment before returning to reality.

  • Let's take a quick look at the history of Chiang Mai, or I'll forget everything.

  • He was walking around making a lot of noise by himself. If anyone saw him that day, please don't take it personally. Hehe, he was just having fun.

  • Eyes wide open, I'm going to be on a plane again.

Goodbye, Chiang Mai

Thank you for reading my travelogue to the end. This trip does not have a cost summary, and I apologize for any errors. I will try to write better reviews and take better pictures next time. Thank you all for your advice and guidance. I appreciate it.
