This trip began with the intention of taking my mother to soak in hot springs for her health, and by chance, we came across a promotion for River Kwai Village as part of the "Thais Travel Thailand" campaign.
We opted for the most affordable program, priced at 1,300 baht per person, which includes one night's accommodation, breakfast, and access to hot springs, as detailed in the brochure below.
After booking our accommodation, we set off. According to the resort's information, there are two boat trips to the hot springs: 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM.
We had to leave home a little early to catch the 2:00 PM round.
We departed from Pathum Thani, heading towards Bang Bua Thong and then Bang Len, before finally reaching Kanchanaburi at Phanom Thuan. The road conditions were not ideal due to the high volume of heavy truck traffic.
Upon arriving in Kanchanaburi around noon, we stopped for lunch at Krua Thammachat, a restaurant located nearby. The entrance was a bit intricate.

The restaurant has a natural atmosphere, but there are a lot of insects. There will probably be a lot of mosquitoes at night.
The dishes we ordered included stir-fried morning glory with shrimp stuffing, deep-fried minced fish cakes, crab claws stir-fried with curry powder, mackerel stuffed with turmeric paste, and stir-fried sweet vegetables with oyster sauce. The total cost was 770 baht for five people. The taste was good, and the price was considered reasonable.
The sour curry stuffed with shrimp is a good idea, but I don't think the mackerel is very delicious.
We arrived at the resort around 1 pm, giving us enough time to unpack and wait for the boat. The boat we took was a long-tailed boat, and the journey only took 5 minutes.
The spa area is beautifully landscaped and serene.
Upon arrival at the spa, the guide explained the features of each pool and recommended activities. Massage services were also available for 350 baht per hour.
Those who have purchased the mud mask can apply it now.
Before going down, we should take a bath to cool down our body. We have soap and shampoo ready.
Pools 1-3 are hot springs, but be careful, Pool 1 is the hottest.
Pond 4 will be a fish pond. The fish that come to eat are tilapia. Pond 5, if I remember correctly, will be a turmeric pond. Pond 6 is a normal temperature mineral water pond, but it has a good view.
Seven to eight ponds in a row, containing Chinese tea and fish.
The remaining pools contain various herbal ingredients, including butterfly pea flower, orange peel, coffee (with coffee powder for body scrubbing), eucalyptus, milk, and roselle. There is also a large pool (with a strong chlorine smell), but trust me, after a while you'll be too tired to change pools again.
Personally, I think it's better to soak in only a few pools. Changing pools frequently can make you dizzy.
After soaking, we returned to the hotel. Personally, I found that some parts of the hotel looked a bit old, but it was clean.
If you want to try something new, you can choose it.
In addition to the resort's other attractions, the tree tunnel at the entrance is a must-see. Don't forget to take a picture!
On the way back, I stopped by Wat Klang Bang Phra to pay respects to Luang Pho Somหวัง.
Thank you for visiting.
