If you're looking to escape the city and embrace the slow life with someone special, then Bamboo Pink House in Ban Pha Mon, Doi Inthanon National Park, Chiang Mai, is the perfect destination for you. This charming guesthouse offers a unique opportunity to experience the authentic culture of the Karen people while enjoying the stunning natural beauty of the surrounding mountains.
First of all, I must say that I am a photography enthusiast. When I went there, I didn't think I would have to take pictures to review for my friends. And I've never written before. At that time, I just thought that I would go and finish my work on time so that I could come back with peace of mind. But when I got there, wow!!! The atmosphere, the breeze, the sunlight, and the clouds that passed over the mountains and rice fields made my heart flutter. I had to grab my camera and call my friends to share the moment with me. This is my first time telling a story through words and pictures.
To reach Ban Pha Mon, travel approximately 100 kilometers from Chiang Mai city. The village is located on the Doi Inthanon mountain road, 23 kilometers from the paved road. The 7-kilometer access road alternates between paved and red dirt sections. One side of the road features a ravine with a flowing stream and small waterfalls, reflecting the cool environment. The other side borders a mountain with large trees lining the path, showcasing the area's rich biodiversity and highlighting the importance of conservation.
After a day-long journey from Bangkok to the metropolis of Lanna, we arrived at our accommodation at around 3:00 PM. We were warmly welcomed by the staff, who informed us that anyone wishing to stay here must make a reservation in advance by calling the contact number, which is readily available on the internet.
Is there anything else I can help you with?
The accommodation is characterized by its simple and harmonious decoration, blending seamlessly with the surrounding environment. There are three houses in total. The largest one, known among ecotourists as "Bamboo Pink House," is a two-story building that can accommodate up to 10 people. While the accommodation may not be as luxurious as a five-star hotel, those who have experienced it will attest that even five stars cannot compete with the "hundred stars" in the sky.
In addition to the constellations, there are also terraced rice fields that attract tourists like us. Many people have seen and experienced them, but I believe you have never seen a view of rice fields alternating with mountains like this.
Having savored the atmosphere sufficiently, let's take a look at the breeze and embrace the stars. However, before we embark on our stargazing adventure, allow me to introduce the exceptional culinary offerings prepared by the local chefs. Their skills and flavors are truly remarkable.
The meals, served three times a day with unlimited refills, feature a delightful mix of local and regular dishes. While I haven't captured the food on camera, I can assure you that it is incredibly delicious. Instead, I present you with the relaxed ambiance of the dining hall and the captivating night sky.
This is one of the places I would recommend visiting. Consider this a guidepost to aid in your travel decisions. However, when visiting such locations, we must remember that it is not just about our own enjoyment and pleasure. We must also respect the rules and regulations of the place to ensure its continued beauty and role as Thailand's green lung.
