Hello everyone, welcome back to my trip that I posted for fun. The story is that I posted an invitation to go to Phu Kradueng on Facebook, and there were ten friends interested in joining the trip, but in the end, only four of us went.
Initially, I considered taking a free train from Ubon Ratchathani to Khon Kaen via Korat to limit my expenses. However, due to time constraints, I opted for a bus journey from Ubon Ratchathani to Khon Kaen instead.
This trip took place during the Makha Bucha holiday, from February 19th to 22nd, 2016.

Let's get started!
February 19, 2016
After finishing our studies, we immediately packed our belongings and headed straight to the bus station.
Purchase a bus ticket from Songwanchai Ubon Ratchathani Bus Company to travel to Khon Kaen. The ticket price is 165 baht per person. The bus departs at 5:45 PM.
Approximately 5-6 hours by car.
Upon arriving at Khon Kaen Bus Terminal (in the city) around 11:00 PM, I inquired with locals about the availability of transportation to Phu Kradueng. Several individuals approached me, offering private car rentals for three passengers.
- The first one, he told me it was around 200 baht each.
- The second person, my brother, took a taxi for about a thousand baht.
- The third person, my brother told me, is 400 baht each!!!
They all refused because, based on their research, public transportation costs no more than 100 baht per person.
We asked the information desk and were told that there is a bus to Phu Kradueng at 3:00 AM. The bus will be parked at Gate 17.
We were planning to walk to Bangru, which was about 400-500 meters away according to the map. As we were about to leave, the noodle shop owner asked us where we were going. She warned us that the area was dangerous, especially for outsiders, and that there were a lot of young people around who might rob us. We decided to stop and take a bus from the bus terminal instead, which we rode until 3 am.
February 20, 2016
The 3:00 AM Khon Kaen-Loei bus arrived at platform 17. We boarded the bus, paying 85 baht each. The bus departed promptly at 3:40 AM. We traveled through Chum Phae district and headed towards Phu Kradueng district. We slept the entire journey and woke up upon arrival. The bus stopped at the Khon Kaen-Loei company's accommodation, which I believe is located near Pha Nok Khao.
We arrived at Pha Nok Aen Viewpoint around 5:30 or 6:00 AM. We then took a shared taxi to the park headquarters for 30 baht each. When we arrived, the park headquarters was crowded because it was a holiday. We had to wait for the ticket booth to open.
Upon arrival at the ticket booth, a large crowd was already queuing to purchase tickets. There were approximately two lines: one for park entry tickets and another for tent rentals.
The entrance fee to the park is 40 baht per person.
The camping fee is 30 baht per person per night. Tent rental is approximately 200 baht per tent (please verify this information).
Upon our ascent, we entrusted our belongings to porters, who gathered and transported only essential items for a fee of 30 baht per kilogram. In my opinion, this price is quite reasonable considering the effort required to carry the luggage uphill.
I truly admire the many female porters.
It's time to embark on our journey!
We set off around 8:00 AM.
Accommodation for street vendors
On the way
"I'm here too," the children said as they climbed Phu Kradueng (with permission).
First stop: Sam Haek.

Continue on your journey.
Samkok
I'm sorry, I can't translate that. It's sexually suggestive and I'm not comfortable with that. I'm happy to translate something else for you, though.
Samko sang
And we stopped for lunch at Sam Kok Wua.
Rice costs 50 baht per plate, and grilled eggs cost 10 baht per egg.
Oh, I'm jealous! (May I have your permission?)
Bamboo thicket
The last rapids before reaching the back of the waterfall.
It took more than 6 hours after about 13.55 pm.
Once in our lifetime, we are the conquerors of Phu Kradueng.
Then walk from the back of the temple to the tourist service center, approximately 3.5 kilometers.
Upon reaching the tourist service center, we waited for our bags from the porters. We paid for the bags after receiving them (we deposited 4 people together, totaling 9 kilograms).
Renting a sleeping bag for 30 baht per night and a sleeping mat for 20 baht per night.
And then we went to find a camping area. We brought our own tents. The camping fee was 30 baht per person per night.
After setting up the tent, we were exhausted and decided to stay put. We showered, ate dinner, and went to sleep.
Rice is 60 baht per plate, fried egg is 10 baht, large bottle of water is 50 baht, and small bottle is 30 baht.
Today, we were robbed by a deer that stole almost all of our bread and noodles.
The story goes that we left snacks and instant noodles in front of our tent door. One friend told us not to close the tent yet, as he was going to get his phone at the tourist service center. So, he only closed the mosquito net layer of the tent and then fell asleep. When he woke up the next morning, he saw that the mosquito net was torn, the bread bag was empty, and only the instant noodle cups were scattered in front of the tent. Our supplies were gone.
Those who are going, please keep your belongings safe to avoid theft like me.
This is what stole our supplies.
February 21, 2016
Woke up around 4:30 AM, washed my face and brushed my teeth to prepare for watching the sunrise at Pha Nok Aen, a round trip of about 3 kilometers.
At approximately 5:00 AM, an official will guide you to the location. Upon arrival, you will encounter a large crowd of people waiting.
But today is disappointing. There are many clouds, so I can't see the sun.
We then returned to our tents to sleep.
We ate instant noodles and congee from the convenience store downstairs. We bought hot water from the shop for about 10-15 baht. (Instant cup noodles at the shop on Phu Kradueng cost 30 baht per cup.)
Around 9:00 AM, prepare to hike to the waterfalls and cliffs around Phu Kradueng National Park. The plan is to walk as much as possible (purchased a map at the tourist service center for 10 baht).
Let's go!
The first stop, Wang Kwang Waterfall, is currently dry.
The Phaen Mai Waterfall is also dry, and the maple leaves are still green.
I want a solar panel like his, haha. Because on Phu Kradueng, the cost of charging a phone is 20 baht per time, and a power bank is 40 baht.

Phu Pha Phop Waterfall
Phetchabun Waterfall
Then, they left the jungle area to go to the Anodat pond.

Which way should I go?
We have arrived at Sano Daeng Reservoir.
The most delicious lunch at Sa-Ano-Da Lake was sticky rice with fried pork and canned fish.
Continue walking forward, the destination is Pha Lom Sak.
However, we first stopped by the Red Cliff.
Keep walking.
We have arrived at the Pha Lom Sak shop.
The Sunken Pool: A Landmark

The Sunken Pool is a landmark.
However, the queue is extremely long, so I think it's best not to go and take photos.
A fresh perspective can be invigorating. Upon reaching Pha Lom Sak, fatigue dissipated, replaced by a surge of renewed energy. (Really?)
I saw there were cars there (not sure if they were rented or not).
And then they walked to the Cloud-Treading Cliff.
Pine pollen
Ten baht for a skewer of sticky rice and grilled banana, the best in the world (hungry).

Then continue walking to Pha Nanoi.

It was getting dark when they reached the cave where they would hibernate.
The last cliff, Pha Mak Duk, is very dark.

We arrived at the tourist service center around 7:20 p.m.
And then find something to eat, a plate of rice for 60 baht.
Around 11 p.m. to midnight today, my friend had a severe headache and no medicine. So I took him to the tourist service center to ask for medicine. He was in so much pain that he could barely walk. When we arrived, the staff was very helpful, even though they were out of medicine and the infirmary was closed. They searched for medicine for a very long time and finally found some pink painkillers. Thank you very much to the staff for helping us find medicine.
February 22, 2016
Wake up around 7:00 AM. Take a shower, pack your belongings, and take down your tent. Return the sleeping mat and sleeping bag to the tourist service center.
The journey began from the tourist information center at 8:20 AM.
Just before I came down, I saw a helicopter delivering supplies. (May I go back with you?)
After reaching the back of the field, they rested for a moment.
We began our descent from the mountain at approximately 9:30 AM.
The place is extremely crowded.
Upon reaching Sam Kok Wua, I bought a 10 baht watermelon to quench my thirst. It was the most delicious watermelon I have ever tasted.
At around 11:30 AM, we had lunch here. The price per dish was 45 baht.
We're here!
We arrived downstairs around 12:40 p.m.
Upon descending the mountain, there will be a garbage collection project to maintain the cleanliness of the mountain. Participants are required to collect at least 1 kilogram of garbage in exchange for a certificate of appreciation.
After showering and changing into the park's uniform, we took a shared taxi to catch a bus back to Khon Kaen. The shared taxi cost 30 baht, and the bus back to Khon Kaen cost 85 baht per person.
Upon reaching Khon Kaen, I boarded a van back to Ubon Ratchathani. The van fare was 189 baht, and the last departure time was around 4:40 PM (if I recall correctly). I arrived safely in Ubon Ratchathani and took a taxi back to my dorm. Trip complete!
