And then the drawer of nostalgia that had been kept closed was opened once again. It's been a long time since I've been to Nan, 5 years since I've been busy with work and changed my lifestyle.
Something happened, and when I realized it, it made me feel like Nan had started to change from my memory.
The first time I learned about Nan through the words and photographs of others, my heart swelled with excitement. Every time I read and saw images of Nan, I felt a sense of wonder and anticipation.
Despite having planned numerous trips, I have yet to visit Nan. Although I frequently travel north, Nan is not a city I pass through. If I want to visit Nan, I must make a deliberate effort to do so!
Finally, finally (why repeat?), my first trip to Nan happened. When my friends called me to go hiking at Phu Wae, I didn't know the details or who was going. I just replied briefly, "Sure."
If it's Nan, May will go!!!
We boarded the Bangkok-Thung Chang bus around 8 pm and arrived in Pua District around 7 am. We waited for the bus to Bo Kluea at 9:30 am and then transferred to another bus.
From the salt mine to the end of the line at the sub-unit of the Ban Dan National Park, another 40 km away, it will be 1 pm by the time we get there. We have to hurry because the slogan here is "Close to the eyes, far from the feet".
And it was truly like that, both tiring and hot. I secretly asked myself if this was really the place I wanted to come. We reached the campsite at 5:30 p.m. The night here was also freezing cold.
The pain went deep into the bone. The morning was beautiful, but the descent was fast. We used only 2.5 hours to descend, pushing our feet to the limit. We arrived at the unit almost at noon.
We had to hop on a songthaew before we could even change our clothes to get to Bo Kluea to catch the next bus to Pua at two in the afternoon, but we asked the driver to let us stop and walk around for half an hour. We didn't arrive in Pua until after four o'clock.
As dusk settled, I found a cozy accommodation in this tranquil town. I savored a warm glass of milk before retiring for the night. The following morning, I explored the charming town of Pua before heading to the bustling city of Nan.
After strolling and paying respects at the temple, we boarded the car for our return journey at dusk, with a lingering gaze. Until we meet again.
Overflowing with longing, and the photos are flooding in! 55555555
