One rainy afternoon, after visiting the Commart event at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, my friend and I decided to head to the Thai Tourism Festival. However, we mistakenly thought the event was being held at Muang Thong Thani, so we ended up looking for a nearby cafe to kill time. We had heard about a unique cafe with a special attraction hidden in a quiet corner of Sukhumvit Soi 16, near the Asoke-Sukhumvit intersection. The cafe, called "Lots Of Love Dog Cafe," piqued our interest. Following the directions on Google Maps, we drove from the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center towards Asoke Intersection. The GPS instructed us to turn left into Sukhumvit Soi 14, which confused us as the website mentioned Soi 16. We assumed the two sois were connected, but it turned out to be a dead end. Frustrated, we decided to start over. We made a U-turn and returned to the main road, following the GPS instructions to turn right onto Ratchada Road. Sukhumvit Soi 16 was located on the left-hand side. We drove straight into the soi and soon spotted the cafe on our left. Upon arrival, we were initially confused as the cafe shared the same space as the Grand Sumi Seafood restaurant. We later learned that the cafe had rented the front area of the Sumi restaurant to operate as Lots Of Love Dog Cafe. As we entered the cafe, we were greeted by the staff and invited to take shelter from the rain behind the restaurant. They explained that during heavy rain, the cafe would temporarily close as the outdoor area in front would become too wet and unusable. The dogs would then retreat to the cramped back area until the rain subsided and they could resume playing outside.

Meet the friendly staff at the restaurant, who come from a variety of backgrounds, mainly European. Among them are Russian lads and lasses like Teodor, Buakhao, Haru, Hera, Siberian Husky and Jacob, an Alaskan-Siberian mix; the adorable yet mischievous British lady Alcatraz.Mercy.Eva, a Golden Retriever; Hypnos, a Labrador with a pig-like face; Mochi, a Samoyed bear or dog; a handsome white tall & Handsome; Sammy, a beautiful Labradoodle with mesmerizing eyes; and Gerl, a mischievous little Beagle. There are also Big, a Kuffer Alaskan Malamute; Fondu, an Afghan Hound; and Wrinkle, a one-faced Bulldog, who haven't arrived yet and will be missed because they work the evening shift. After familiarizing yourself with the renowned names of these individuals, the next step is to learn how to get closer to them. The answer is to order a beverage (no food is served). However, there are two package menus available here:
Package A: 199 Baht entry fee with 1 free drink (punch or fruit juice).
Package B: Admission fee 259 baht, free 1 drink (tea, coffee, or Ovaltine)
The two packages sat and played with the children for two hours.
To get to know the girls better, consider buying them a drink—or rather, a snack—and they'll be eager to sit near you. Snacks are 80 baht per bag.
These young monkeys are generally obedient, non-aggressive, and occasionally playful, as is typical of their age. However, some older individuals are more mature and respected by the younger generation. For example, Theodore, the leader of this group (the one on the left-hand side as seen by the audience), is known for his calm demeanor and dominance over the other monkeys. He also has a tendency to be the alpha male, often taking the lead in foraging and mating. With his calm and handsome demeanor, it is no surprise that the females are drawn to him.
Hera and Jacob, the two playful puppies, entertained the guests with their antics. Despite their youthful exuberance, they displayed promising signs of beauty and handsomeness.
Haru, Theodore's girlfriend, has a rather fierce and intimidating appearance at the moment. However, she is a very kind person, which is fitting for Theodore's partner.
Buakhao, a young man with a mischievous face and a handsome, innocent boyish look, is often asked to take selfies.
This is the ultimate snack gang. If you offer them treats, they'll be front and center in a flash. They excel in every area: energy, playfulness, affection, and, of course, eating.
Hypnos, a large dog with no form, looks like an old dog but is still young. He plays with everyone (I secretly suspect bananas are part of their diet. I wonder if it makes them as mischievous as monkeys? 55).
Sammy, a former girlfriend of Theodore, is rumored to have been disliked by his mother, leading to their breakup. Sammy is a Siberian-Labrador mix, inheriting one eye from each parent. Perhaps due to her less striking appearance compared to her peers, she often gets lost in the crowd and is rarely captured in photos. (Next time, Sammy!)
The mischievous resident cat, Geigle, is a playful monkey on the ground. If he could climb trees, he would. However, when picked up and placed on someone's lap, he becomes as docile as a cat. Due to his small stature compared to his friends, he is often the target of their playful nips on his ears and tail, resulting in numerous scars on his face and ears. This is because his friends' mouths are at his eye level. Despite this, Geigle seems to wear his scars with pride.
