A Tranquil Escape: Sunset Village Beach Resort

Seeking respite from the bustling crowds of December holidays, we embarked on a quest for a secluded resort where our canine companion could frolic freely. Our criteria were simple: beachfront access and a convenient location. After inquiring at several properties, we stumbled upon Sunset Village Beach Resort. A quick phone call confirmed room availability, but due to the holiday season, the staff requested an immediate bank transfer for the reservation.

First come, first served at the front seat. Hehe

Departing from Bangkok at 7:00 AM. Stop for breakfast at a PTT gas station along the motorway, a little past Chonburi. Then travel to the resort. The resort entrance is located before Cartoon Network Waterpark. Drive in and park in the parking lot. You will find the restaurant sign first. This is where we will have breakfast.

"Taro, let's take a picture together as a souvenir."

"Namo" is a new member who was adopted because someone abandoned him at the temple.

To the left is the reception area. Let's check in first. Since the room we booked by the sea is occupied, we can check in at two o'clock in the afternoon. The staff gave us a new room that we can check in to instead. While we wait, we are offered orange juice as a welcome drink.

"Saw the resort sign, had to take a picture."

The luggage van will take my mother and our belongings to the room first. We have booked two rooms. The first room is in the garden zone for the dog to stay, and the room number is 406.

This room has one king-size bed, chairs, and a long bench.

Flat-screen TV, kettle, refrigerator with 2 bottles of drinking water.

The bathroom is a dry area located next to the bedroom.

The wet area with a bathtub and an open roof is spacious enough for the dog to be alone in the room.

The other room we booked was a Beach Superior room, facing the sea. The room we booked was not available until 2 pm. The staff asked if we wanted to change rooms, and we could check in right away. So we did. In front of the room is a lawn with an unobstructed view of the sea. There is space to relax.

The room will have a balcony with two chairs and a coffee table facing the sea. There is also another set inside with a kettle.

This room has two beds: one large bed and one small bed. It also has a TV and a refrigerator (the TV doesn't have very good reception).

The bathroom features a sink and a bathtub adjacent to the bedroom. An open-air toilet with a thatched roof is accessible through a nearby door.

The front of the room opens onto a grassy area with sun loungers for enjoying the sea breeze.

A showerhead for rinsing and a towel for drying are also provided.

Please reserve a seat for me. (The cloth I used to cover my belongings is from my home.)

This Beach Delux room offers stunning views of the garden and the sea.

Sea view on the left-hand side.

Beach and sea view on the right-hand side

The resort has a small lawn and an area for walking dogs.

In addition to the beachfront pool, there is another swimming pool further inside.

The pool looked beautiful, but I couldn't go inside because I was walking with a busy child and couldn't get in.

There is a 500-meter dog walking path available. Alternatively, guests can borrow bicycles from the reception counter.

The path is well-paved, but the trees are a bit overgrown. If the trees were trimmed and the area was cleaned up, it would be beautiful. However, it is still a shady and pleasant place to walk.

Beachfront accommodation with stunning sunset views from your private balcony.

The sky is full of clouds today, so I couldn't see the sunset. But I still enjoyed the view.

In the evening, you can enjoy dinner and live music by the seaside pool.

We went out for dinner in Pattaya, while my mother stayed in the room and ordered Pad Thai for two. The price was reasonable.

In the morning, I took my mother to the dining room for breakfast. On the way, we stopped to take pictures.

The breakfast room is located by the sea. Today, there are a moderate number of guests staying at the hotel.

Breakfast is buffet style, choose and cut as you like.

The meal consists of fried rice, plain rice, four or five dishes, sausages, ham, barona, and potatoes.

Bread with toaster, jam and butter

Pineapple, blueberry, and jam-filled bread rolls

Salad and dressing

Fish in Sweet Beancurd with Toppings

Watermelon, pineapple, papaya, and banana

Beverages include orange juice, milk, Ovaltine, tea, and coffee.

This morning's breakfast was delicious.

After breakfast, I relaxed for a while before heading back.

This resort allows check-out until 12:00 PM.

See you later, come back again next time.

New Year's Trip Details

This New Year's trip, we left home at 6:30 AM and headed towards Khao Kheow, stopping for grilled chicken along the way. We arrived at Khao Kheow and drove around from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM, taking advantage of my mother's age (over 60) to avoid the entrance fee. Leaving Khao Kheow, we encountered heavy traffic for 2 km. We stopped for lunch at the same PTT gas station as our previous trip. We arrived at the hotel at 2:30 PM and had dinner at the resort that evening.

The next morning, we drove to Sattahip, visited a temple, and had lunch at Hat Tey Ngam beach. On the way back, we stopped to buy souvenirs at Nong Mon. We planned to drive along Bang Saen beach, but the traffic was heavy, so we decided to head straight home. We arrived home around 5:00 PM.
