The Khlung Kraben Wildlife Sanctuary: A Haven for Biodiversity

The Khlung Kraben Wildlife Sanctuary, established in 1999 by the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, encompasses a diverse landscape of approximately 11,370 rai (4,548 acres). Spanning across the Khlung Kraben Bay Development Study Center's operational area, the sanctuary encompasses various ecosystems, including dry evergreen forests, mixed deciduous forests, coastal forests, and mangrove forests.

Located in the Khlung, Ramphan, and Tha Mai districts of Chanthaburi province, and the Sanam Chai district of Trat province, the Khlung Kraben Wildlife Sanctuary serves as a vital research and conservation hub. Its primary objective is to study and investigate the unique coastal environment of Chanthaburi, paving the way for sustainable development practices in the region.

It serves as a research center for the public to learn about the natural environment, fostering an understanding of the mangrove ecosystem and promoting the sustainable use of its resources. For instance, the Ao Kung Kraben Mangrove Forest Nature Trail Bridge, located opposite the Ao Kung Kraben Bay Development Study Center, takes only 30-45 minutes to traverse its 1,600-meter path. Along the trail, interpretive signs provide information about the natural environment, highlighting its role as a source of food and medicinal herbs for the surrounding communities.

Let's take a look at the atmosphere inside the Krung Kraben Wildlife Sanctuary before we head over to see the pink rocks.

Let's head to the pink rocks now. Today we will walk this way because the other way is not accessible due to high tide. Follow us!

Once we reach the top, there will be a pavilion for us to rest and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
