This is a video recording of our journey to the summit of Khao Thevada, the most pristine forest in Suphan Buri province.
Travel often has time constraints.
Therefore, if you don't have many vacation days, go ahead and take them this weekend.
A nearby trip to Suphan Buri province is our destination.
What does Suphan Buri have to offer? You wouldn't believe it, but the Two-Leaved Pine Forest is located here.
Experience the beauty of Phu Toei National Park.
However, we finish work at 4 pm. How are we going to get there? That's the question.
After conducting extensive research, we discovered that there are numerous transportation options available for traveling to Suphan Buri.
The closest option is the Suphan (Ong Phra) line, which is a van service operating between Bangkok, Nong Prue, and Muang Mao.
For car booking, please call 082-885-2424. We will pick you up in front of Big-C Bang Yai.
The price is around 160 baht, but we can't remember exactly. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please call to confirm the price.
We have now reached the end of the line where the van stops, which is Ban Muang Tao.
However, the next issue arose when we arrived at around 10:30 PM, after a roughly 3-hour journey from Bangkok.
By the time I arrived, everything was dark and there were likely no more connecting vehicles available.
Fortunately, there are noodle shops and 7-Eleven stores open, so we won't starve tonight.
The next problem is, how are we going to sleep tonight? So, I asked the noodle shop owner.
They said, "Sleep here in the parking lot. Let's just pitch our tents and sleep." We said, "Okay, let's do it!"
My brother and I had to sleep here, and then we'll talk about it in the morning.
A New Day's Journey to Phuteuy
Waking up to this breathtaking view every morning is truly a blessing. The beauty of the scenery is simply unparalleled.
Afterwards, I looked for breakfast nearby. It seemed there was a morning market.
We got some fried dough to eat, so we asked how to get to Phuteuy. Are there any buses going there?
"Auntie said, 'Oh my god! The young man doesn't have a car.'"
"Auntie asked me where I was sleeping. I told her I was camping next to a 7-Eleven."
The woman was stunned.
The old lady insisted that there were no cars going in our direction. However, she suggested that we try to hail a ride. She even helped us flag down a car.
**Out of respect, we therefore**
It's better to walk and hail a ride ourselves. We walked a bit and saw a sign saying that the Phu Toei National Park is 33 kilometers away.
This is our goal! Only 33 kilometers to go, there must be some cars passing by.
Hoping for a safe journey, I made a wish to the monk.
After a while, a car stopped to pick us up. Let's go! We have hope now.
My brother and I quickly climbed up. What are we waiting for? Haha.
This car looks like a school bus, it's full of kids.
He must be confused. Who are you talking to? Haha.
However, his car cannot reach Phuteuy. He said to get off here and wave for another ride. It's a straight road from here.
A car just passed by! I still want to thank you so much.
The next task is to continue waving.
The traffic here is very heavy. We flagged down every car, and they all stopped and asked us questions.
The people here are incredibly kind, but they only went a short distance, so I had to decline their offer. I told them it was no problem.
Did this hitchhiker reject you? Haha. But I still have to thank you very much.
However, it wasn't long before a car passed by, heading further away. It wasn't going to Phuteuy yet, as reaching Phuteuy requires turning towards the national park.
The seniors did not go sightseeing, but passed by the intersection. They said that it was okay to get off there, but it was already far away.
Thank you again for accepting us. We are very pleased.
However, the supervisor mentioned that they only need a few temporary workers. Honestly, we should respect their decision and not ask further. Haha.
Beautiful paths with kind-hearted people, it was magnificent, profound, an experience we will remember for a long time.
He stopped the car and said, "Get off here. It's another 5-6 kilometers to Phuteuy."
From 33 kilometers to 5-6 kilometers, it's a relief. I really want to thank the drivers who passed by.
The destination is within reach, but we are already feeling hungry again, so we decided to have lunch at this intersection.
We stopped by a rice shop to grab a bite to eat. The owner was curious about how we got there and where we were headed.
I just hitched a ride from Muang Lao and I'm heading to Phuteuy. I'll just keep hitching rides and I'll get there eventually.
The old lady said she would take me. She'll close the shop for a bit. Crazyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!! I don't want to go with auntie.
I'll walk the remaining 6 kilometers myself. Thank you so much to the locals. I feel bad for traveling like this.
However, if you or your aunt know of anyone who can help us, we would be eternally grateful.
Alright, another 6 kilometers. Phuteuy is our destination...
However, at least there were 2 people and 1 animal walking with us.
We walked for a while until a patrol car passed by. We asked them for a ride to Phuteuy.
"They told me to just get in and they'd take me. Wow, that was easy. I almost wonder if it was too easy to hitch a ride this time."
We have now arrived at Phutoey National Park in Suphan Buri.
Our destination is still far, we need to reach Base Camp 3 at Ta Paen Kee. This is the starting point for the ascent to the legendary Mount Thewada.
Let's take a look at the map to see how we can get there.
According to the staff here, if you don't drive up, you'll need to use their services.
The round trip price is 2,000 baht to Unit 3, Ta Phein Ki, our base camp, where we do not have a car.
We will have to wait for our friends and colleagues from Suphan Buri to join us before we can proceed.
This will help reduce the cost of transportation.
While waiting, we took some photos of the park area. We thought it was already beautiful, so we wondered how amazing it would be at the top.
The lush green color we see is likely from the bean plants, which are quite beautiful.
The green color here is all over the place.
Alright, everyone, let's move on to Base Camp Unit 3.
The road conditions are not suitable for ordinary cars. It is recommended to use a four-wheel drive vehicle.
The road is unpaved and has potholes, making it difficult to navigate. There are also some unclear sections of the path.
After driving for over an hour, we arrived at our base camp, Unit 3 Ta Phaen Kee.
Upon arrival, please proceed to the tent reception area located directly adjacent to the parking lot. Payment can be made downstairs, and tent collection can be done upstairs.
The price is 250 baht, including 3 sets of bedding per tent.
Food is not provided here. You must bring your own. Only restrooms are available upstairs.
The tent is set up.
Our first activity was to light this stove. As soon as we arrived, we ate first. We'll worry about everything else later.
After blowing on the fire for a while, my brother suddenly realized that he had put a fan on the coals. 55555
Haha, alright, the fire is lit.
Okay, let's eat first and then we'll talk about other activities… Alright, now that we're full, we have the energy to…
"I would like to request some strength by walking and exploring the forest. They say there is a waterfall nearby as well."
We were walking along, enjoying ourselves, when we realized that what they said was nearby was actually quite far away. We walked and walked, and we ended up getting lost.
"We realized the path was leading us astray, so we turned back and followed the original route. In conclusion, the entrance is located here."
The sign fell over, lol.
Let's go play in the waterfall. We've come a long way and are tired. Let's have some fun.
After walking for a while, I was stunned by the sight of the waterfall.
It's good to have the wolf as a friend, but I think we should go back to eating the old way.
This is not the waterfall season, so there is less water than usual. It's a pity... I came all the way here to sleep in the mountains, and it's so hard to find something to eat.
I don't know what to eat. 5555
Grilled chicken?
Or would you prefer bacon?
Or maybe sausages. Sigh, they're hard to find. Haha.
Carrying food up the mountain is understandable, but it's important to preserve nature while doing so.
This will keep it beautiful forever. Here, Unit 3, Ta Phaen Khie, Phu Toei National Park.
Although rain greeted us, it was still beautiful in its own way.
After finishing our meal, we set out to photograph the stars. We set up our tripod and camera, hoping to capture some celestial wonders.
Waiting and waiting.
And sat down.
Stood up.
We went to bed, but the stars still haven't appeared. I guess we'll have to miss stargazing tonight.
We should rest now, as we must ascend the renowned Mount Thevada before dawn tomorrow.
It's around 4 or 5 am, I think. Let's go to sleep and we'll talk about it tomorrow morning.
A new morning...
Let's climb Khao Thewada together around 4:00 AM.
The price of 2,000 baht includes the cost of transportation to the base of Khao Thevada.
We must go and find the officer early in the morning! Let's go, let's travel!
The path is quite dark, almost impossible to see. Please bring a flashlight, it's really dark.
From here, we need to hike up to Khao Thewada, which is about 1,123 meters high. The climb is not too long, but the path is quite steep.
The trail is dotted with rest stops, offering breathtaking views along the way.
After walking for almost an hour, we finally heard the sound of bells, indicating that we were nearing the summit.
The first group that went up before us should have arrived by now.
There is a beautiful pagoda on top. Let's go up and ring the bell.
In addition, there is also the Phra Phuttharattanamuni Si Thewa Buddha statue. But who built it here? It's really amazing.
We are in awe of the creators of this place. Now that we have arrived, let us pay our respects to the sacred objects and make a wish.
We have finally arrived at Khao Malae, the highest peak in the land of Suphan Buri.
However, I can't help but wonder how I got up here. I'm so tired, haha.
Call me Johnny, the angel dog. That's what they call me. It's cute, isn't it? Hehe.
The view here is characterized by strong, cool winds and limited visibility due to heavy fog.
Having come all this way, not to see the mist, would be a shame.
Is it too much? It's all white. It's really cold, as expected of the peak of Mount Deva.
It's strange how when we're down below, we long to see the mist on the mountaintop.
When we are on the mountain, we want to see the view below. It's strange, isn't it?
1,123 meters is the highest point of Mount Thewada in the Suphan Buri region.
We have conquered it. Have others been here? You must come and experience nature.
Not far from Bangkok, we witnessed what we had seen and experienced.
This is Phuteuy, the mountain of angels in Suphan Buri province, my hometown.

Climbing up was already difficult, but going down was even worse. We had to drag ourselves down.
The morning view we witnessed confirmed the altitude and beauty of our ascent.
Reaching the bottom, I still wonder how I managed to climb up. It was so dark and steep!
It was a truly wonderful experience at Mount Deva.
Let's go home. We can take a ride with our brother to the train station and then take a train back home.
