Greetings, friends! Today, I have a travel trip to share with you, a place where you can both nourish your soul and your heart.

Let's Begin: Exploring the Sea of Mist at Wat Phra Phutthabat Pha Nam

Today, we embark on a journey to witness the breathtaking sea of mist at Wat Phra Phutthabat Pha Nam, nestled in the Li district of Lamphun province. This revered temple, associated with the revered figure of Khru Ba Apichai Khaopi, the "Saint of Wiang Li" and disciple of Khru Ba Srivichai, stands as a significant landmark in the region.

As the sun peeks over the horizon, casting its golden rays upon the mist-laden valley, a mesmerizing spectacle unfolds. The sea of mist, resembling a celestial ocean, gently rolls and sways, enveloping the temple in an ethereal embrace. This breathtaking phenomenon, a testament to the region's unique microclimate, transforms the landscape into a surreal dreamscape.

A Legacy of Faith and Devotion

The presence of Wat Phra Phutthabat Pha Nam within this captivating natural setting underscores the profound connection between spirituality and the environment. The temple serves as a reminder of the enduring legacy of faith and devotion that has shaped the cultural landscape of northern Thailand.

A Journey of Discovery

A visit to Wat Phra Phutthabat Pha Nam offers an opportunity to immerse oneself in the rich cultural heritage of the region, while experiencing the profound beauty of the natural world. The sea of mist, a symbol of tranquility and renewal, invites visitors to embark on a journey of self-discovery and spiritual awakening.

The name of the temple originates from the discovery of a clear footprint of the Buddha on a stone slab atop Doi Pha Nam. This small mountain is located behind the temple and offers stunning views of the mist-shrouded valley. To reach the summit, visitors have two options: the traditional route involving a climb up a naga staircase with hundreds of steps, or the newly constructed concrete road accessible by car.

Upon reaching Doi Pha Nam, park your car and continue walking up the stairs. It's not far, follow me.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by a breathtaking sight: a thick, white blanket of fog enveloping the entire sky.

The Viewpoint Offers Two Sides:

Walking to the left side, we are treated to a breathtaking view of the sea of mist. The photos speak for themselves: it's more than just "breathtaking," it's an overwhelming experience. Everywhere you look, there's mist.

And the view of the Phra That.

Are you enjoying yourselves? Let's continue. We then walked to the landmark. It's currently around 6 pm, and there aren't many people yet. It's very relaxing.

This sign is a must-see for anyone visiting Li. Don't miss out on taking a picture with it!

The sun is rising high, and the mist is starting to dissipate. The air is filled with water vapor, which is condensing on our faces and cameras.

From this angle, we can see the view we saw when we first arrived on the other side.

From this angle, looking down, we can see the front view of Wat Pha Nam.

Let's take a look at the rear view.

We're not done yet. Let's walk down one more floor to the coffee shop. Let's sit down and have some coffee or Ovaltine to warm ourselves up.

Farewell with this picture. See you again.

The wild chickens that the temple keeps are always there when I visit. They have been there for many years now.

Don't miss the chance to experience the mesmerizing mist in Li District!
