If you're looking for a quick getaway with plenty of natural attractions, Nakhon Nayok should be at the top of your list. This trip, I'll take you to one of Nakhon Nayok's hidden gems, a perfect day trip destination: "Uncle Porn's Garden and Khlong Madeua Waterfall."

Traveling from Bangkok to Nakhon Nayok, you can take the Rangsit-Nakhon Nayok route. However, be prepared for traffic congestion, which occurs frequently on this route, regardless of the day of the week or holidays. Traffic jams become even more severe during accidents or special events such as merit-making ceremonies or graduation ceremonies. It can take a significant amount of time to clear the congestion. Upon entering the city center, continue towards Wang Takrai Waterfall. You will pass Wat Luang Pho Pa Daeng and the intersection leading to Sarika Waterfall. Look out for the second 7-Eleven store on the left side before reaching Wang Takrai Waterfall. Once you see Krua Nong Oi restaurant, turn left towards Wat Ban Dong.

The entrance is a paved road for approximately 5 kilometers, followed by a gravel road for another kilometer. The road is not too rough, and passenger cars can still navigate it. The surrounding area is mainly farmland.

Uncle Porn's garden is located on the edge of Khao Yai National Park, before reaching Khlong Nueng. There are a total of 5 Khlong Ma Deu, but access is only permitted up to Khlong 3. The terrain beyond Khlong 1 is not suitable for passenger cars and is more popular with off-road groups who camp there. Accommodation options include bungalows and camping grounds. For passenger cars, access is limited to Uncle Porn's garden, which is located before Khlong 1.

Uncle Porn's orchard is a pomelo garden with ample parking space. It offers accommodation options, including a four-person house for 1,300 baht per night and a ten-person house for 2,500 baht per night. Guests can cook their own meals, as the property provides a barbecue grill and kitchen equipment for rent. However, mobile phone reception may be limited, and electricity is available only during specific hours.

The highlight of this place is the stream that flows from Khlong Madeua Waterfall. At first, I looked for the waterfall but couldn't find it. I asked Uncle Phorn, the owner, who told me that the waterfall is located in the Khao Yai forest and is the source of the Wang Takrai Waterfall. The stream is not very deep, only about knee-deep or mid-calf deep. However, during the rainy season, the water level rises significantly, making it the peak season for this place.

The water level in this stream is suitable for bringing children to play because the water level is not too high and the current is not strong. There are bamboo rafts for rent. Choose where you want to set up the raft in the stream and then order food to eat on the raft. The food here is mostly papaya salad, waterfall salad, and grilled chicken. The taste is acceptable.

The lush greenery and cool water were irresistible, prompting us to take a dip and enjoy a refreshing beer. We then relaxed on the bamboo bed until we drifted off to sleep. Upon waking, we packed our belongings and headed home, content with the simple pleasures of a short day trip.
