Continuing our trip with Mom in Australia, 10 days, 3 cities, budget 55,000 baht/person.

Now we have arrived in the second city, Brisbane.

We will be in Brisbane for 4 days and 3 nights.

The first 2 nights we will stay on Moreton Island.

And the last night we will stay in the city.

The highlights of the Brisbane trip are feeding dolphins.

Go sandboarding in the desert and hug a koala.

Friends can see the details of all expenses of the trip.

But now we have arrived in Brisbane.

We have to continue our journey. Hooray!

DAY 4: BRISBANE

Tangalooma Resort, Moreton Island (feeding a dolphin)

We arrived at Brisbane Airport just before 5 am, and the sky was already bright.

We debated for a while about how to get to the port.

Looking at the map, the port didn't seem too far from the airport.

However, there was no direct transportation except for going into the city.

Then, we would have to take a car from the city back to the port.

In the end, the three of us hailed a taxi.

The taxi meter is faster than the speed of light.

Wow, it's increasing rapidly. In less than 15 minutes, it has reached 36 AUD.

This port is unique because it is exclusively for the

'Tangalooma Resort'

The boats at this port only pick up and drop off resort guests.

We arrived a little after 6 am, and there were already many people there.

This is because the first boat leaves at 7 am.

We had actually booked the 10 am slot (40 AUD / trip),

but there was space available on the 7 am boat, so we were able to go.

This was my first time visiting an island in another country.

I was so excited!

After a 1.5-hour sleep, we arrived at

Tangalooma Resort on Moreton Island.

Tangalooma Island Resort: A Must-Visit Destination in Australia

Tangalooma Island Resort is a large, upscale resort that is a must-visit destination for both Australians and tourists. It offers a wide range of marine activities and is the only place on the island where dolphins swim to the beach every evening, allowing visitors to feed them.

We booked a standard room that can accommodate 2-3 people for $250 AUD per night, excluding breakfast. Breakfast can be added for $25 AUD per person per day. For more information, please visit the resort's website: http://www.tangalooma.com/info/home/

Here is a map of the resort:

[Insert map of the resort here]

We arrived early and couldn't check in yet.

So we walked around the resort to explore.

Oh my god! It's huge!

I dare say it's the biggest resort I've ever been to.

It has rooms, 2-story houses, bungalows.

There are 2 swimming pools, a tennis court, an ATV field.

Helicopter landing pad, diving spot Okay, enough..

I'm tired of describing it. Just look at the pictures.

The sky is clear today with good weather.

People come out to sunbathe and play in the water early in the morning.

This is the equipment loan point.

If you want to go scuba diving, wakeboarding, play tennis, table tennis, or basketball,

you can borrow equipment here with a small deposit.

Oh, what's this? Mother and child

Sitting comfortably, aren't they?

After taking this picture, we'll go to sleep here, lol.

We're free, you see, until we get our room.

Lunchtime, my stomach growled, so I ordered a pizza.

All this cost 31 AUD. I'm starting to get used to the high price of food in this country.

(Oh, I forgot to mention, I also bought a sandwich here this morning.)

After lunch, we will sign up for the dolphin feeding activity in the evening.

This activity is free of charge, but you need to sign up in the afternoon.

Then at 7 pm, we need to be at the pier.

The sign-up location is a small museum.

It provides information about dolphins and marine animals in the area.

It attracts many children for field trips.

Finally! We can take a shower

and lie down on a soft bed

after sleeping on the plane for only 4 hours,

on the boat for another hour and a half,

and on the beach for another hour.

Let's talk about it when we wake up.

ZzzZz

I woke up around 4 pm. My mom and sister went swimming.

As for me, the one with the bad leg? I had to sit and take lonely photos.

Waiting to eat dinner together before going to feed the dolphins. Woohoo!

The long-awaited moment has arrived! I'm here for this.

And look at the crowd...

After registering with the staff, we joined the queue on the beach. (Those who didn't book could only watch from the bridge.)

They divided us into 8-10 rows. I only found out when I joined the queue that we had to get half-soaked. Oh well, let's do it, I'm willing to get wet.

When it was our turn, the staff allowed our family of three to go down together. Of course, we had to remove the (soft) cast, discard the crutches, and hold onto the staff as we entered the water.

About 10 dolphins swam around us, less than 2 meters away. We held out a small fish, and a dolphin swam up to eat it from our hand. We even got to stroke its head.

It was a moment that will stay with us forever. We highly recommend this experience to everyone. (We didn't take many photos because we were worried about the camera getting wet.)

Good night.

DAY 5 : BRISBANE

Tangalooma Resort, Moreton Island (Desert Safari Tour)

Continue our relaxation and good life at Tangalooma

Today's highlight is going to the 'Desert Safari Tour'.

It is a resort tour that will take tourists into the park area.

Let us take pictures with the chic desert

And slide down the sand ridge with fun

If you want to go, see more details + book in advance here

Adults 43 AUD each, children 25 AUD each.

But now it's not time to book yet.

We'll do this and that first.

Starting with a breakfast buffet..

We went to watch the helicopter take off.

We played ping pong.

We went upstairs to watch cartoons.

Then it was time for our tour group.

We gathered in the lobby at 12:15 pm.

Wow, there were people from Australia, Korea, Japan, and the United States!

We took a bumpy ride for almost 20 minutes and then we arrived.

Warning! Wear long sleeves and pants.

Avoid carrying bags as sand will get inside.

Apply sunscreen, bring a hat, and wear sunglasses.

Because it's extremely hot.

Upon arrival, the guide will explain the proper techniques for sandboarding, such as how to maintain momentum while sliding down the dunes and how to grip the board to minimize sand in your face.

While listening to the instructions, I realized that I wouldn't be able to participate in this activity due to my current physical condition. Instead, I opted to take photos of my mother and sister as they enjoyed the experience.

With a playful spirit, I encouraged them to "Go Go Go" and make the most of the opportunity, ensuring that our family name would be remembered for their sandboarding prowess.

Here he comes, little brother.

Go further, go further, go far away.

My mom and sister played once and said there was a lot of sand in their face and mouth.

I don't understand the people who played two or three rounds.

Isn't it hot? I'm tired just watching.

It's so hot I could faint, but it's fun. I have to try it (even watching is fun).

In the afternoon, we went back to our room to shower.

We didn't want to go anywhere else.

We just wanted to turn on the air conditioning and lie down and watch TV in the room.

The desert tour is very draining.

Before dinner, we went to the resort shop.

Oh, we found a picture of us feeding the dolphins.

The picture is 23.95 AUD including the file (frame must be purchased separately).

What do you think? Buy it.

When you go back to Thailand, you won't be able to buy it if you want it.

Missing Asian food,

Today we went to a Chinese restaurant called 'Fire & Stone'.

We ordered stir-fried noodles and fried rice, both of which were delicious. Everyone was happy.

The price is expensive as usual, 42 AUD.

Don't even think about finding cheap food at Tangalooma. Remember that.

Another day of quality on Moreton Island

Hehe

DAY 6: BRISBANE

Move to City - Queen Street Mall

Today's schedule is light.

It's a day for mom and sister to rest after pushing me around for 5 days.

We woke up to have breakfast.

Packed our things, prepared to check out.

And boarded the boat around two in the afternoon to cross back to the city side.

Thank you Tangalooma Resort for giving

our family a wonderful time for 3 days and 2 nights.

It's truly a dream resort, hope to see you again < 3

Upon arriving at the city's edge, a friend of a friend kindly transported us to the 'Brisbane City YHA'.

The journey from the port to the city center was relatively short, taking approximately 20 minutes.

Alternatively, one could hail a taxi or board a bus.

YHA is a hostel-hotel hybrid that meets international standards.

With branches worldwide, it offers affordable rates and excellent amenities.

Explore room types and book online at: https://www.yha.com.au/hostels/qld/brisbane-surrounds/brisbane-backpackers-hostel/

Join as a member in Thailand at: http://www.tyha.org/

Membership grants discounts at all YHA branches.

This is the kitchen and dining area.

Bicycles are also available for rent.

We arrived at 4:30 pm.

After a quick battery charge, we headed to Queen Street Mall.

It's a shopping district with souvenir shops, restaurants, bars,

and brand-name stores selling clothes, shoes, bags, etc.

It was about a 15-minute walk from our accommodation.

We passed a small park and the Museum of Brisbane on the way.

Lost in a shopping spree, we didn't realize how hungry we were until it got dark.

We saw a sign pointing to McDonald's across the street from H&M, so we decided to check it out.

To our surprise, we found a food court instead.

Food courts in Australia offer affordable and delicious options, and this one was no exception.

After eating, hurry back to the accommodation.

Tomorrow we have to do the last mission in Brisbane

Before flying to Sydney

Get enough sleep, good night.

DAY 7 : BRISBANE

Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary

Hey, hey, hey, dress up nicely today

Take a picture with the koala, okay?

We have to make time today.

Because we have to return to the airport from the accommodation at 3:30 pm.

(Contact the accommodation directly, 3 people 30 AUD is cheaper than calling a taxi)

In the morning, grab something easy at Seven Eleven and go.

The bus stop we need to take today is stop number 41.

It is located before Queen Street Mall, which we visited yesterday.

After passing the Museum of Brisbane, cross the street and turn left at the blue building.

Walk a little further and you will find it.

To go to 'Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary', take bus number 445.

It is easy to spot as it is the bus that most tourists take.

Haha, we're finally here! It took almost half an hour to get here.

This place is located outside of Brisbane city center.

Because before it became Lone Pine,

it was a normal area with some houses.

But when people saw that there were a lot of koalas, kangaroos, and birds,

they decided to create a place to care for these animals.

And it was transformed into a lovely zoo,

and the largest koala sanctuary in the world.

Open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Admission fee is AUD 36 per person per day.

Online booking is available at AUD 32.40 per person.

Click here for more information and booking: https://www.koala.net/tickets-and-prices/

Upon arrival, we headed straight to the koalas.

Note that holding a koala for a photo costs an additional AUD 18 per photo.

The photo can include any number of people, and Lone Pine will print the photo and place it in a folder.

If you don't want to spend the money, you can still walk around and take photos up close.

Let's explore other zones.

Another highlight here is feeding the kangaroos.

They are allowed to roam freely in the grassy field without any cages.

Just be careful not to do anything strange, or you might get kicked.

Visitors who are tired of walking can watch various animal shows.

There is a schedule showing what shows are on, at what time, and where.

We watched two shows: the bird of prey show and the sheepdog show.

They were both very entertaining, and it was amazing to see how intelligent these animals are.

After watching the show, the lady asked to take a picture.

Alright, smileeeeeeeeee.

After spending more than three hours here, we took bus 430 back to the city.

Upon arrival, we had lunch at the Food Court in Queen Street Bus Station.

Then we rushed back to our accommodation to catch the bus we had booked.

My four days and three nights in Brisbane flew by.

I regret not having more time to explore the city.

I hope to return someday and see more of what Brisbane has to offer.

I hope this review will be helpful to those who are planning a trip to Brisbane.

There are many activities to enjoy, such as feeding dolphins, visiting the desert, and cuddling koalas.

See you in Sydney! : )

Summary

- Brisbane is a bit more lively than Perth, with shopping areas open until late in the evening.

- There are not many attractions within the city itself, most are located outside the city.

These include beaches, the sea, and islands such as Sunshine Coast, Nudgee Beach, and Gold Coast.

- Accessibility for people with disabilities (wheelchair users) is not as good as in Perth, but still much better than in Thailand.

- My total expenses in Brisbane, excluding the koala cuddle, were 13,908 baht.
