"When life feels meaningless, go out and help others."
Do not judge someone's hardship based solely on your own feelings.
He is not in need. Nature is still good.
When teachers take students to the city to take exams for secondary education at schools in the district or province, travel is inconvenient and expensive. We hope that our review will be useful for students to expand their educational opportunities.
Children deserve to receive an education in accordance with their inherent rights.
Let me tell you a little something.
From February 21st to 26th, 2016, I attended the Mon National Day event and experienced severe allergy symptoms, including heavy coughing. I then went on a fishing trip from February 27th to 28th, 2016, which further exhausted my body. It's unbelievable that I, a hipster, have reached this point of physical exhaustion.
While I was lying in bed coughing, my brother texted me, "I told you to call me if you ever had a tough trip." He was referring to this current period.
Brother Wut: (Monday night) There is a trip to deliver things to the younger brother at Laiwo.
In my mind, I thought, "Here we go again, another trip to the temple almost every week. I'm getting tired of it." I considered making a donation instead of going, as I wasn't feeling well. However, a message popped up saying, "Let's walk there. It's a 28-kilometer round trip." I immediately regretted agreeing when I realized I had to walk. I thought (optimistically) that I would be cured in time. I went to the doctor to get some medicine, and the doctor told me to rest. I told him I had a hiking trip coming up and needed to get better soon. The doctor gave me a look! "In four days? You're sure you'll be okay?" I reassured him and quickly posted on Facebook asking for donations and volunteers to join me in helping the children. We used the donated money to buy underwear, clothes for young and older children, and dry goods. The remaining money from the purchases was given to Ms. Tiw to contribute to the donation for Teacher Mod, totaling 36,000 baht. The donated items were probably worth around 50,000 baht, as our team contributed 9,000 baht and another team contributed over 10,000 baht. This doesn't include the cash donations.
Brother Joe
Our sincere gratitude to Joe for his invaluable assistance in coordinating all aspects of our journey and for serving as our guide. We are deeply appreciative of his efforts.
Older sister Tiw
They met while hiking the Great Wall, and he was the trip's organizer.
Let's talk about schools.
The Laiwo Special School currently offers classes from kindergarten to sixth grade, with a total of 65 students. However, there are only 5 teachers, including myself. Fortunately, 3-4 local teachers have volunteered to help teach the students.
The school has clarified that they do receive a government budget for school lunches. However, the high transportation costs of bringing dry food from Sangkhla Buri town to Laiwo School, which is located in a remote area, make it difficult to provide dry food regularly. The school is located over 20 kilometers away from the town center and can only be reached by crossing a mountain or using an off-road vehicle. During the rainy season, travel becomes even more challenging. As a result, the school often lacks dry food to prepare meals for the students.
Teacher Mod continued by saying that after someone shared the story of her and the students of the Laiwo School online, many people contacted her. However, she did not answer most of the calls because she was often teaching. Additionally, there is only one point with a mobile phone signal, so she apologizes to everyone.

And
We brought baby clothes with us, but forgot to consider diapers and warm clothes. In the morning, we walked around the houses and looked for houses with babies. We gave them the clothes.
We traveled on Friday night. It took several rounds of wrong directions before we were able to guide our brother to pick us up correctly. He apologized.
The group arrived in Sangkhla Buri district around 1:00 AM. The men slept on the balcony of the accommodation arranged by Mr. Joe, while the women slept in rooms of four people each. Everyone went to sleep as soon as they arrived.
An agreement was made to meet at 7:00 AM at the Sangkhla Market. I heard that P'Tiw and her group went out to the market early in the morning to buy ingredients to make Rad Na for their younger siblings.
It was discussed that the goal is to minimize the number of cars used in the morning.
We woke up at 5:00 AM after a sleepless night due to coughing (apologies to friends for the noise). We showered and went to wake up P'Wut, who was curled up like a shrimp, but accidentally woke up P'Pui instead. P'Pui didn't respond verbally but pointed to the person sleeping at the edge. We pulled the sleeping bag three or four times, and P'Wut finally woke up. The other person, Gam, had already been awake for a while. All members of our team were now awake and on time.
Unload the donated items from the vehicle.
The sheer volume of donated items, excluding those from other vehicles, formed a massive pile. We pondered how to transport everything during the night. Fortunately, volunteers transporting tiles to a fire-damaged health center in Lai Wo agreed to assist us in delivering the donations.
Group photo...um, why am I blocked? That's cruel. Is that an arm or an exceptionally long telephone pole?
Read a little.
After loading the luggage into the car, we headed towards the Takhian Thong checkpoint.
8:40 AM, we arrived at the Takhian Thong Forest Protection Unit. The officers here are very strict, please follow the rules.
On that day, approximately four groups of people went to donate supplies. Two groups went to Sala Wa, accompanied by a group of around 50 motorcycles and cars. Two other groups, including our group and a group of cars, went to Lai Wo.
After completing the paperwork, I was granted access.
They gathered their belongings in the middle of the field, while our group chose a shady tree to reorganize our things.
From the parking spot, walk two hundred meters to the right. It's beautiful, isn't it? On the way back, we'll shower here because there's only one bathroom in the park. There are other bathrooms, but they don't have water. Around 10:00 am, our group of 22 people went ahead. 18 people went ahead, leaving me, P'Wut, P'Pui, and Gaem. The team called Rambo. We started walking 45 minutes later than the others because we were chilling out.
We departed at 10:45 a.m. (Although, Joe mentioned that we should have left around 9:00 a.m. Hmm.)
The person walking ahead of us is Gaem. This is our first time hiking together. Gaem is knowledgeable about knives, herbs, and has immense strength, capable of cutting down large bamboo stalks with a single stroke. He breaks firewood with his legs and cooks delicious food. Is he too easygoing? He eats a lot and has high self-discipline.
The participants in today's charity event were initially curious about our actions. Upon learning our purpose, they expressed admiration, which greatly boosted our morale.
The initial incline was so steep that we were left gasping for breath, the sound of our labored breathing echoing through the air.
A two-wheel drive pickup truck is stuck on this hill, unable to climb the steep incline.
The first group, who walked ahead, left the others behind.
The trail is scenic and shaded, with a mix of steep and flat sections, crossing streams and looping back on itself.
After walking for a while, I heard a voice calling out, "Sister, wait for me!" I asked what was going on and found out that the group was returning on motorbikes, but the vehicles were stopped to help a food supply truck that was stuck in the middle of a hill. The younger sister had walked ahead, and some parts of the road were muddy.
Sometimes it is necessary to find a way to avoid the mud.
Emerging from the intersection, a stream came into view.
Strolling leisurely, capturing images without haste.
Finding a hipster music video angle is just like this.
This is a location with a cellular signal. How do we know?
This vehicle will be used to assist in the repairs of the fire-damaged health center.
Path
To capture the scenic views, we must include ourselves in the photos, as they are a record of our journey.
After finishing the grilled pork, they explored the surrounding area.
Let's continue our journey.
Entering a grove of palm trees, including salak and other unidentified species.
The sentence describes a wild fruit called "sala" that is sour and can be used in dishes like tom yum and spicy salads. It emphasizes the need for vigilance in the forest to avoid starvation.
The trail is often flanked by streams on both sides, sometimes passing in front. The beautiful scenery provides ample opportunities for photography.
I enjoy walking in this area. It feels like I'm in the ancient Jurassic Park.
A real uphill and downhill journey.
This area has edible sour oranges. They are delicious when dipped in a spicy sauce.
Road conditions
Another dip in the stream! This spot is beautiful, let's stay here for a while.
Playing in the water all the way.
Enjoyable
The age of curiosity.
You are blocking the camera. Please move.
Let's continue walking, we're only halfway there.
Walk, walk, walk.
We sank into the ditch, our knees submerged halfway, and we had to sit down to count the cars.
Dragged to the point of having to...
Still in good condition.
He came alone, leaving us with the flower bud.
Entering the village area
The vegetables, rice, and fruits look very delicious.
To reach the school, one must first walk through the village.
Briefly chatted with the villagers and peeked at their weaving.
Arrived at school at 4:10 PM.
Out of respect, we will refrain from setting off fireworks. Instead, let's find a place to rest and greet Ms. Mod.
The children were confused. They were used to seeing us arrive by car, but this time we walked. Our appearance was not unlike that of zombies. The children looked at us with great pity.
A picture of children.
Some children appear prematurely aged, which is unfortunate.
Upon arriving at the school, I greeted Teacher Mod. She offered me a place to sleep in the classroom, but being a hipster, I declined. I ventured into the forest to find a suitable spot to hang my hammock. I chose a location near the flagpole in front of the school and set up my hammock and flysheet. However, ants soon appeared and marched across my hammock. Feeling annoyed, I moved to a spot near the cafeteria. I found an ideal location and set up my hammock and sheet. As I prepared to celebrate with fireworks, I realized I was under three coconut trees. I decided to stay put, despite the ants and the coconut trees.
Accommodation settled, we took a breather and had lunch. The food was donated earlier in the day, and the children hadn't finished it, so we took over. We had rice noodles with green curry, coconut milk soup, and chicken feet curry. Thanks, kids!
Let's play together, kids!
While some played soccer, others went to bathe in the stream. We were busy setting up our hammocks and missed the chance to join them. As darkness approached, we were fortunate to learn from Brother Wut that there was a bathroom behind the cafeteria with plenty of water pumped from the stream. What a relief!
After playing with the children, I prepared food for tomorrow's breakfast to avoid any hassle in the morning.
A group of students, including Aat, made jelly.
There is no electricity, but that's okay, it's a good opportunity to take a break from my phone.
We chopped and picked vegetables to make jelly.
Kaem kindly cooked for us. We, P'Wut and P'Pui, didn't help much. We walked around and took pictures. We flipped the patient cards, while P'Wut and P'Pui flipped the elderly cards, so we sat comfortably.
Around 11 p.m. to midnight, we all went to sleep. Gaem warned us not to sleep alone because it was dangerous, and the place where we were sleeping was close to the fence and walkway. As a result, the four of us slept together in the cafeteria and kept an eye on the dog to prevent it from eating snacks. The others slept in the classrooms.
Awakened with a start around two in the morning by a loud crash. Got up to see the cows all running around in a frenzy. It was only two or three in the morning.
At five in the morning, I heard P'Tiw get up to cook breakfast. I heard the sound and went back to sleep for a bit. She apologized. She was cold. P.S. Behind P'Tiw is where we slept like sardines last night.
Let's cook together.
As we walked around the village, we mostly encountered children and women. We assumed that the men were working in the fields.
Indian mango tree
Do you envy the people here? We walk around.
Let's take a look at the picture again.
Note: It is not recommended to walk alone in this area as it is secluded and there are no houses nearby.
Coffee
When I went, I went behind the village and couldn't find my way back. I walked around and ended up in front of the village. I walked to the school and saw the cows from last night.
Afterwards, the children were gathered for activities and a meal.
We like this younger person. They are cute and have style. We will invite them to join the hipster group.
Teaching children how to wash their hands.
This is Bui.
No matter what you ask, Bui will always answer, "Yesssssss."
Buay enjoys taking photos of people.
Red Shirt is Mr. Wut, who works as a cameraman and laborer.
Kaem is busy distributing supplies to the children.
We spent the morning distributing gifts to young children and infants while we were out for a walk.
We are deeply grateful to the children for bringing us so much joy. We have received far more than we have given. Our journey to meet the children has taught us many valuable lessons.
While waiting for the food, help each other serve the food and do some activities.
Dig in, kids!
Undergarments, shirts, socks, snacks, and other items were distributed.
I miss my dog. He used to guard us at night.
After the children finished eating, we continued to eat. The pork was gone, and only the broth remained. It didn't matter, as I had already eaten a lot from the outside world.
After handing over the items, the remaining cash and belongings were also given.
The school presented a handmade bag to Ms. Tiw. On this trip, Ms. Tiw obtained a rare item.
Interior view of the classroom
Taking pictures with children.
Thank you, Joe and friends, for packing my lunch. It includes stir-fried mushrooms with basil, a boiled egg, and two fried squids.
Around 10:30 AM, I will be heading back.
Our journey doesn't end here. Let's explore two more stunning waterfalls.
We thought we were going to part ways and go back, but the students walked us out and helped us carry our things.
Some even took us to their homes to find beans and papayas for us.
Please lend me a hand.
Along the way, there were children riding bicycles. It was a lot of fun.
As the younger students prepare to leave, it is now the turn of their older counterparts to feel a pang of sadness.
Waving goodbye, the child shouted, "Come back again!"
I'll be back.
We will now take you to the waterfall.
Captured the moment.
"One-take action scene by P'Wut"
It's noon, let's have lunch.
Enjoy a delicious meal with a million-dollar view.
Out of the blue, it slithered like a snake.
Follow the original path, there will be a fork to the waterfall.
Even the roadside is beautiful.
Not yet to the waterfall, but stop and play here first.
The path leads to a small stream, a waterfall flowing from another waterfall.
We have reached the first level of the waterfall.
Beautiful
Let's go to the next level of the waterfall.
One more floor.
I'm already on my way back, and I don't want to go.
How about going to Sala Wan next time?
A mere human embraced by the vast expanse of the forest.
On the way, I met a wandering monk. I learned that he was traveling to Tak Province, via Umphang District. It seems he has been traveling for over ten days. The distance is quite considerable.
Upon arrival at our destination, we dispersed. Some of us rested, while others took their time to shower. After a suitable amount of time, we bid farewell and departed for our respective homes.
After leaving the forest, we showered and went back.
Around June, I will return to help Kru Mud with the roof. After that, there will be a compilation of crazy pictures of the members.
We are grateful to everyone who joined us on this journey and created wonderful memories for us. We hope to travel together again in the future.
"How wonderful it is that we have walked this path together."
This is my life.
How many tomorrows do we have left? How much time do we have?
The number of breaths we have left in our lives remains unknown.
To think that following someone would lead to good results is a common misconception.
Live life to the fullest, pursuing your passions.
A life that is true to oneself, even if it is known to be bad.
But it's worth a try.
The path of life, a choice to make.
Each to their own.
Such is life, I suppose.
Our lives are our own.
Run to send
