Koh Chang

Koh Chang left turn, 3 days 2 nights trip 22-24/4/2559. Koh Chang left turn is very worthwhile. Good food, accommodation, good price.

1. The cost of petrol was shared equally among three people, resulting in a cost of 650 baht per person.

2. The fare for a van from Kanchanaburi is 80 baht per person.

3. Hat fee 250 baht per person.

4. Our total common fund is over 1400 baht, including food, drinks, snacks, and restaurant fees.

These are the main expenses, divided among 10 people.

5. Individual expenses varied as some who went in advance incurred costs for staying at Flukie's house, while others only took naps at a friend's room and therefore had no expenses.

6. The cost of climbing the mountain does not include the cost of a guide (as my friend did not charge me).

7. Contact Mr. Fluke at the provided number for kayak rental fees.

8. The remaining amount is for personal shopping and food expenses, which vary depending on individual spending habits.

Enjoy the photos for now, details will follow soon^^ Expenses. Travel details, who to contact, where and how to get there. Hello everyone who has come to read the review. This trip we went to Koh Chang, Trat Province. There are a lot of activities. The weather and nature are very beautiful.

This trip was initiated by an invitation from our hiking friends. Initially, we were very hesitant, as we had just returned from an off-road trip to a forest in Kanchanaburi from April 12-17, 2016, and were feeling a bit exhausted. Additionally, we are not particularly fond of the beach but enjoy hiking, so we took some time to make a decision.

Prepare your belongings 30 minutes before departure.

This is a picture of the friends who went on this trip. Thank you to my friends for the beautiful photos.

We set off from Lotus Nakhon Chai Si, three of us sharing the cost of petrol. We arrived at the Ao Thalane natural bay ferry around 2am and slept by the roadside, exhausted. We were the first in line.

However, the abundance of mosquitoes prevented us from sleeping, and we were exhausted until 6:00 AM when the staff arrived to sell tickets.

Price per person: 80 baht.

The fare is 120 baht per person.

The first night, I couldn't sleep and was bitten by mosquitoes. Note: The other 5 people had already left in the morning of 21/04/59.

We met at our friend's resort, who served as our guide and organized all the activities for this trip.

Capturing a moment while waiting to cross the street.

It takes about half an hour to reach Koh Chang.

The pointed peak we will conquer.

Koh Chang, a prominent Thai island in the Gulf of Thailand, boasts a dense, mountainous jungle. Mu Ko Chang National Park, a protected area with hiking trails and cascading waterfalls like the tiered Klong Plu Waterfall, encompasses a significant portion of the island.

Koh Chang, the second largest island in Thailand after Phuket, boasts over 52 smaller islands, offering a plethora of stunning locations to relax and soak in the breathtaking scenery. The island also provides a diverse range of activities to keep visitors entertained. Historically, Koh Chang was uninhabited but served as a vital shelter for ships seeking refuge from monsoons. It was also a source of food and freshwater, particularly in the area of Ao Salak Phet, also known as Ao Salad, which was frequented by pirates, Hainanese Chinese, and Vietnamese. Today, Koh Chang is home to eight villages and covers a total area of 650 square kilometers, with the main island itself spanning 268,125 rai (approximately 429 square kilometers). Upon disembarking from the ferry, take a left turn.

Flukie's House

Upon arriving at the accommodation, we decided to take a nap to recharge. Around noon, we planned to have lunch and then head to Khao Laem.

The food is very affordable, with dishes costing only 40 baht each and generous portions. The crab is real crab, and the beer is 60 baht a bottle, which is also reasonable.

Okay, I'll also order rice for dinner. It's convenient to weigh ourselves a little bit.

Taking a few more photos. So tired of the annoying uncle in the background. He keeps stealing the spotlight. Someone please give him his medicine.

The storefront of P'Ju, another member of the Mogokoju team who is also a staff member who takes them up the mountain.

The entrance is through a durian orchard and a rubber plantation, with a strong smell of durian.

Sister Tiw's snacks, or rather, food, can be taken by anyone at any time.

We started walking at two in the afternoon. You can see the group photo in the comments above.

This trip is not a long walk, but it takes a long time because the path is steep. The distance is 3 km and it takes 3-4 hours to complete.

The initial section of the trail traverses a rubber plantation, where the sound of conversation carries far.

The silence was deafening as we left the rubber plantation.

It is advisable to exercise moderately. Avoid overexertion, as the steep path combined with the hot and humid weather can be challenging. (It rained last night on the nearby island, but it was scattered and did not cover the entire sky.)

We carried approximately 15 kilograms of supplies, including 5 liters of water, as there are no water sources available at the summit.

Very long.

Take a break before facing a big battle.

At this point, the front legs are used to assist.

Around five thirty, we reached the summit.

Let's see the pictures. What are we waiting for?

Sharing photos of young men to spread some cheer. Some of them aren't so young anymore, so they might not be as bright, but don't focus on that.

After taking photos, we set up hammocks and ate lunch. It was more convenient to use hammocks on the upper level due to the limited space.

The bed was made by Che.

There are a lot of rats up there. I have to bring instant noodles to sleep with me, or I won't have anything to eat in the morning.

At night, he went out to "oh" and "oh" each other. As for Che, he was sleepy, so he went to bed at 8 pm in a tank top and shorts. He thought it wouldn't be cold, so he took out his sleeping bag and long johns. But Che was right, it wasn't cold. The others were cold and slept hugging Mama until morning. At 7:00 am, they took their bodies to eat Mama on the mountain ridge.

This flavor is incredibly spicy and comes with large pieces of braised pork.

MAMA and Panana should contact Chai to be their presenter, right?

Swear brotherhood over instant noodles and sign a peace treaty.

A show of abs and muscles is a must-have.

Modern men are camera-ready.

The return trip was quick, but many people twisted their ankles.

The third person landed at approximately 10:21 a.m.

After descending the mountain, we showered and ate lunch before preparing for our kayaking trip. We stocked up on supplies for dinner, including 2 kg of shrimp for 500 baht.

Fresh squid 2 kg for 500 baht.

Let's spread some positivity and overlook the hairstyle.

Departing from Fluke's resort, heading to Ju's house. Same routine.

Prepare to board the ship at the designated point.

Paddle to the island called Long Beach.

7 km one way.

The next day, the return trip was 7 km.

Paddle and stop by, relax and unwind.

To navigate the rapids, a guide is necessary, as we are unfamiliar with the waterways.

The work is outstanding.

The advertisement is paused. We will continue tomorrow.

We arrived at the accommodation around 5:30 PM.

The beach in front of the accommodation is a sandbar in the middle of the sea. We walked to the sandbar to play and sat down to enjoy some food. It was amazing!

Accommodation priced at 200-300 baht will be open until May and closed until October. It will be open again from November to May.

Affordable food. Camping on the beach is also possible.
Long sandy beach.

60 baht per dish, order one more set to take away and eat on the boat to Kok.

The ship has been waiting since 6:00 PM.

The boat fare was 1,700 baht, which was split among four people.
Originally, we planned to return at midnight to attend a beach party with friends. However, we ended up staying until six in the morning, and only then did we reach the shore.

The remaining members cooked seafood, grilled, and roasted fish on the beach. We boarded the boat and saw them pitching tents to sleep on the beach.

After disembarking from the fishing boat, it was already late morning after taking a shower. I decided not to sleep and went digging for clams to eat instead.

Relaxing and sleeping.

Forgot to bring the tripod, ran until my legs were sore.

A place to sell food, relax, and chill, with hammocks to lie in.

Accommodation for 300 baht

It was very quiet. When we went, there were only four foreigners, but when we returned, there were quite a few.

Breakfast is served around 9 am.

The menu also features a mixed vegetable curry with fish caught last night.

Afterward, you can either paddle the kayak back to the starting point or have it transported back by car. Relax and enjoy the scenery for a while longer, grab some papaya salad, and then head home.

Departing Koh Chang at 17:00 and arriving in Kanchanaburi at 24:30.
