The Mon Bridge in Sangkhla Buri, Kanchanaburi Province, has become a popular tourist destination in recent years.

Despite its small size, Sangkhlaburi is brimming with rich culture and breathtaking natural beauty.

The journey is not difficult, although there may be some winding sections, they are not extensive.

Public transportation options include vans and buses, which are safe and reliable for solo travelers.

Interesting activities when visiting Sangkhla Buri

1. Offering alms to monks and strolling along the Mon Bridge in the morning.

2. Boat tour to see the underwater temple

3. Pay homage to the wax figure of Luang Pho Udom and visit the Jetiya Buddha Gaya.

4. Stroll through the Sangkhlaburi Walking Street (open only on Saturdays, except during long weekends when it is open for two consecutive days).

After visiting the Mon Bridge, we headed to the Sangkhlaburi Market to grab a bite to eat. We enjoyed delicious skewers of grilled pork for just one baht each.

Note: There is also a 7/11 convenience store, so you can rest assured that if you need to buy anything, it's all available.

A small souvenir. After the walk, I returned to my accommodation. In the evening, the weather was cool and comfortable.


Waking up around 6 am to offer food to monks at the Mon Bridge. As soon as I woke up, I saw the fog. It was love at first sight. ^^

Let's go on a boat trip to see the submerged temple. The boat can accommodate 6 people and costs 500 baht per boat. The trip takes about 1 hour.

The duration of the boat trip depends on us. The boat driver will wait for us and explain the tourist attractions along the way.

The road is a two-way lane, so please drive carefully. There are some curves and uphill sections.

The cost of living is not very high. The city is generally safe, but there are no nightlife options.

The weather is pleasant in the evenings and mornings, but it is extremely hot during the day.
