After resting and recuperating from our long journey from Milan, we eagerly awaited the arrival of our distinguished guest from Parma. The wait finally came to an end as the sun began to set, and our guest arrived just in time.

Mrs. Mariani, a friend who came to live abroad, and her bodyguard brought a lot of food with them. Most of it was ready-to-eat food that they had specially prepared, which was very much appreciated. It saved us from having to cook for one meal, so we could enjoy a leisurely evening. We waited for our visitors to rest from their journey, and then after a while, we all went for a leisurely stroll around the city to soak up the atmosphere of Venice before we started exploring it in earnest the next day.

To celebrate the blossoming friendship in the land of boots, what could be better than using "gelato" as a sworn menu to start a good friendship in a foreign land like this? Mr. Mariani, who loves gelato, hosted a gelato ceremony for each of us. It was the most classic moment to celebrate the beginning of a friendship that I could think of. Hee hee.

The most enjoyable and atmospheric way to experience Venice is by wandering through its narrow streets and alleyways. These charming lanes are lined with shops and stalls offering a wide variety of goods, from souvenirs to local crafts. While it's tempting to indulge in every purchase that catches your eye, it's important to remember that Venice is not an expensive city. Most items are reasonably priced, making it possible to find something special without breaking the bank. However, the sheer abundance of tempting goods can easily lead to overspending. Therefore, it's best to approach shopping with a discerning eye, selecting only those items that truly resonate with you. This mindful approach will allow you to enjoy the shopping experience without exceeding your budget. Another reason to embrace the labyrinthine nature of Venice is the unique charm of getting lost. In fact, it's almost a rite of passage to lose your way while exploring the city's intricate network of canals and alleyways. With its maze-like layout, Venice offers a sense of adventure and discovery that is unmatched by other destinations. Getting lost allows you to stumble upon hidden gems, off-the-beaten-path attractions, and a deeper understanding of the city's true character. While it may seem counterintuitive, getting lost in Venice is not a cause for concern but rather an opportunity to embrace the unexpected and uncover the city's hidden treasures. The winding streets and canals of Venice are like a complex organism, constantly shifting and evolving. This dynamic nature ensures that even seasoned travelers can find new and exciting experiences with each visit. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a seasoned explorer, Venice has something to offer everyone. So, embrace the spirit of adventure, lose yourself in the city's labyrinthine streets, and discover the magic that awaits around every corner.

While traversing the bustling streets, you will encounter numerous historical churches adorned with exquisite architecture, offering ample opportunities for photography. However, it is important to note that most churches in Venice impose entrance fees and may even charge for photography. Therefore, thorough research is recommended to determine which churches require payment. For budget-conscious travelers, selective entry is advisable, as the captivating architecture and art of the city's buildings and structures provide a wealth of visual stimulation. By focusing on the most impressive and noteworthy landmarks, you can still experience the city's rich cultural heritage without breaking the bank.
