Here's a glimpse of the scenery during the boat ride.

We have departed from Murano Island.

Have you seen the leaning towers of Burano? We'll get to know each other better once we're on land.

And here we are at Burano Island. Let's get to know it a little better.

Burano Island, a picturesque island renowned for its brightly colored houses, is situated approximately 7 kilometers north of Venice. The name "Burano" is believed to have originated from "Porta Boreana," which translates to "northern city gate." The island is celebrated for its intricate hand-woven lace, a rare craft in the modern era. A dedicated Lace Museum showcases the historical significance and production techniques of this cultural heritage.

Visiting Burano Island is a delight, with colorful houses lining the streets. The vibrant hues adorn the buildings, walls, windows, and doors, creating a cheerful atmosphere. However, the choice of colors is not arbitrary. Before painting, homeowners must obtain permission from the authorities, who specify the allowed colors. In the past, the distinct colors served as boundaries between houses and, according to local belief, helped fishermen identify their homes from afar when returning from sea. For photography enthusiasts, Burano offers a picturesque backdrop. A simple tip is to wear neutral-colored clothing to enhance the vibrancy of the houses in your photos.

As we strolled through Burano at midday, we decided to indulge in a taste of authentic Italian cuisine. After browsing through various options, we opted for this restaurant, renowned for its genuine Italian menu and highly rated by travelers on the esteemed Tripadvisor website for its exceptional food and service.

Let's take a look at each dish we ordered. Although each dish was large, the delicious flavors made them disappear quickly. This was a farewell meal to the land of boots, which we will be leaving in a few hours. It's hard to say goodbye.

After a satisfying meal, we have enough energy to explore the rest of Burano. There are still many beautiful colors to see, and most importantly, we are very full and need to walk it off.
