A new journey to an old province with a new train.
Come to think of it, I've never been to Chiang Mai by any other vehicle than a train.
So this trip, I took the opportunity to ride the new train with everyone. I was so excited, and I really didn't expect it to be as good as the reviews I had read.
It was only a short ride, and when I woke up, I was already in Chiang Mai. If you're looking for a relaxing trip, you should try it.
When I have the chance, I'll write about the trains I've ridden before. Let me tell you, it's entertaining, haha.
After getting off the train, prepare to find a red car to Bikky shop to rent a motorbike.
We rented a Zoomer-X motorbike and checked it thoroughly before heading to our accommodation.
We spent the first night in Mae Wang, and the next morning, we embarked on our journey to Ang Khang.
This was the most challenging motorbike ride up a mountain I have ever experienced.
We took the Arunotai route, which, according to online forums, is the easier ascent. However, it was still a nerve-wracking experience.
The road was very steep, with some sections too difficult to climb.
We had to get out and push the car uphill, then walk for a while. It was tiring, but also a lot of fun.
We left Mae Wang at 10 am and arrived at Ang Khang around 4 pm.
It took a long time, but it was a good experience. Haha.
Upon arrival, we secured a tent rental at the Mon Son campsite, freshened up, and unloaded our belongings. We then drove to the front of the agricultural station to enjoy the pleasant weather. Fortunately, we were able to catch a glimpse of the remaining Queen's crape myrtle blossoms.
After a short walk, we drove back to the tent to have a barbecue.
We have had barbecue on many mountains, but this one is the best.
It's dark, time to sleep and watch the stars. Luckily, the sky is clear, and I can see a lot of stars. The later it gets, the more stars there are.
I took a picture and fell asleep to the sound of the tent behind me.
In the morning, we waited with anticipation for the sea of mist.
Fortunately, the morning mist did not disappoint anyone.
It gradually crept up to greet us.
After soaking up the atmosphere to our heart's content, we prepared to pack up our tent.
Before leaving, we stopped by the agricultural station, hoping to take some beautiful photos, but it was too crowded, so we only stayed for a short while.
The air inside the agricultural station was excellent, cool and refreshing. We could see our breath in the air. We wished we could take this air back to Bangkok with us.
It's time to descend the mountain. We started early, riding our motorbikes against the wind, freezing cold.
We planned to continue to Doi Pha Hom Pok, but instead, I got a fever. So we changed our plans and headed into the city.
We'll stay in Nimmanhaemin for one night, and then take the train back to Bangkok tomorrow.
In the early morning, I returned the car and took an Uber from the arcade to the train station for 38 baht, which was very cheap.
I'm not sure if the train on the way back is called a Daewoo carriage. It was my first time riding in a carriage like this, and I was excited again.
There was food distributed and a train hostess who walked around serving drinks and food.
I dozed off and woke up around 7 pm, arriving in Bangkok safely.
The Ang Khang trip ended beautifully and ruggedly.
This trip was filled with new experiences and discoveries, even though we were in the familiar city of Chiang Mai. Every journey, no matter the destination, creates beautiful memories. How can we not fall in love with travel?
