Previously, we explored the delicious Italian cuisine on the island of Burano.
Continuing our exploration of Burano, every corner we turned seemed to exude charm and beauty. The vibrant colors of the houses, juxtaposed against the eclectic array of goods on display, created a visually captivating scene. The artistic spirit within me was ignited, finding inspiration even in the mundane, like the晾晒的衣物.
A young woman and her older brother visited a handmade lace shop, purchasing several pieces as souvenirs. The prices were surprisingly affordable considering the authentic craftsmanship from Burano Island. Through their conversation with the shop owner, facilitated by Mrs. Mariani, they learned that all the lacework was created by the young man's mother. This knowledge further enhanced their satisfaction with the high-quality gifts they had chosen for their loved ones.
We strolled along, enjoying the sights and sounds, until we reached the city's main square, Piazza Galuppi. Surrounding the square were souvenir shops, restaurants, and charming cafes. The highest point visible was the bell tower of the San Martino Church, which leans at a 5-degree angle, just like the Leaning Tower of Pisa. However, it is not as famous, perhaps because it is not as visually striking. Looking at pictures might not give you a sense of it, but this is the bell tower that I, Tiny, asked you to observe when we were on the boat in the previous episode. Remember? If not, you'll have to go back and read the previous episode. If the ground were to sink, the angle might become even steeper.
If you want to buy souvenirs or have a meal, you can choose a shop you like on the main road in the center of the island, Via Baldassare Galuppi. We were already full of savory food, so we decided to have dessert on this street. What else could it be but Gelato? Since we will be saying goodbye to Italy in a few hours, why hesitate? It's like a farewell.
We then strolled through the city, capturing the vibrant essence of Burano Island. We yearned to preserve these precious moments, but we could only do so through photographs, which would serve as reminders when time had passed.
It's time to say goodbye to this island as Mr. and Mrs. Mariani will be returning to Parma this evening. The fun times have come to an end, but before we leave, let me tell you that as long as the sun hasn't set, it's hard for us to let time pass by without doing anything. Stay tuned for the next episode, as there's still time before sunset to explore Venice. As a passionate traveler, I, Noolek, make the most of every moment.
