Khao Kho and Thap Baikaew Trip

June 18-19, 2016

This short trip of 2 days and 1 night was sparked by a friend who wanted to visit Tab Berk. We searched for travel companions at midnight on Friday to watch the sunrise on Saturday morning and stay for one night before returning. In the end, no one was available except for me and my friend. However, this did not diminish our desire to go, so we decided to go as a duo.

I left the office at midnight and rode for 200 meters before the rain started pouring down. I didn't have time to put on my rain gear. When I arrived at the meeting point with my friend at PTT Din Daen, I was completely soaked. My friend arrived with a full rain suit and didn't get a drop on him. Haha! It rained the whole way, so I didn't stop to take any pictures until we reached Khao Kho in the morning.

We arrived at 6 am and took pictures along the way.

My younger sibling and I decided to visit a famous coffee shop. While I have been to Khao Kho many times, I had never stopped by this particular establishment. Coincidentally, I had taken a photo of the coffee shop's corner three years ago when it was still an open field with rice paddies.

My car is in a terrible condition right now. I think it's become an off-road vehicle.

Arriving at the coffee shop, I ordered a drink and sat down to rest. Just the view in front of me was enough to erase the fatigue from my all-night journey through the rain.

At 10 am, I left the coffee shop and headed to Khao Tap Berk. Since I didn't book any accommodation, I rushed to find a place to stay. On the way down the mountain, I found a beautiful corner and stopped to take some photos. My friend and I love to stop and take pictures along the way.
When I arrived at Khao Tap Berk, I encountered the famous Curve 3, a popular check-in spot. However, it wasn't my day as the fog was so thick that I could barely see the road.
I managed to find accommodation at Rai Phu Talaymok. Luckily, they had the last room available, and I arrived just before another group. After checking in, I fell asleep immediately. My friend asked me if the room had air conditioning, and I smiled and told him he would find out later that night. At night, I closed all the windows, doors, and even the fan. It was so cold that I had to go outside to take pictures of the stars. They were truly breathtaking.
The first day of the trip ended, and I went to bed early because I had ridden my motorbike a long way and had been riding in the rain all day. I wanted to rest so I would have the energy to ride back the next day.

Day two, 19/06/2559, return trip.

This morning, I woke up with the intention of watching the sunrise, but I didn't make it in time. However, I managed to capture some photos before heading back to Bangkok.

After packing my belongings, I prepared to return home. However, thick fog descended, forcing me to wait for it to dissipate. Once the fog cleared, it was time to return to Bangkok. Although I was reluctant to leave, I had to return to work to earn money for my next trip. As this trip took place in the middle of last year, I do not recall the specific expenses incurred. I apologize for this oversight. Finally, I would like to express my gratitude to N' Tong for inviting me on this trip, which allowed me to witness breathtaking scenery. Thank you to all Pantip members who followed along.
