Hello everyone, today I will take you on a trip near Bangkok. Bangkok-Chonburi, a short day trip. From Bangkok, take the expressway. Take the expressway from Ram Inthra all the way to Chonburi. Then drive straight ahead, passing Nong Mon Market towards Si Racha. There will be signs all the way. It's not difficult to get here. Then we arrived at Bang Phra Reservoir, Bang Phra Subdistrict, Si Racha District, Chonburi Province. This place is like a resting place. A picnic for Chonburi people because the atmosphere is very good. This is my first time here. Many tourists come to take pictures with the purple and white Lagerstroemia flowers. It's really beautiful, like a romantic road. (Photo taken on February 18, 2017)

Typically, this spot would be in full bloom, but this year's unusually hot weather and intense sunshine have delayed the flowers' blossoming. However, officials suggest that there may still be a chance to witness a spectacular display by the end of the month.

Next, we'll take you to another spot where flowers bloom along the entire road, similar to the pink trumpet trees in Kamphaeng Saen. However, the flowers here are Tabebuia, which come in purple and white. This is a popular spot for cars, so it's recommended to park on the side of the road or in the designated parking area and walk to the flowers. Monkeys live in this area, but they are not aggressive, so there's no need to be afraid. However, it's important not to feed them. Park rangers are always present, and the monkeys are afraid of them, so you can enjoy the flowers without worry.

The monkeys will walk around, but they won't bother us. Don't worry, there are staff members watching them at all times.

As the officer approached, the monkey became frightened and fled up the tree.

Despite the abundance of new leaves this year, the scenery remains breathtaking. The occasional pre-wedding and graduation photoshoots add to the ambiance. When the wind blows strongly, the flowers flutter and scatter, resembling a gentle snowfall.

Located within close proximity to Bangkok, Bang Phra Reservoir attracts a significant number of tourists throughout the year. However, during the blooming season of Tabebuia rosea trees, typically between February and March, the reservoir experiences a surge in visitor numbers. The vibrant blossoms create a breathtaking spectacle, surpassing the beauty captured in photographs. For those seeking a weekend getaway, Bang Phra Reservoir offers a convenient and picturesque destination.

This year, there are significantly more white flowers than purple flowers.

Come visit again next year when the flowers bloom. If you have the chance, come and see it.

Another nearby attraction to Bang Phra Reservoir is Khao Kheow Open Zoo.

As you drive along the reservoir, there will be signs guiding you all the way. It is not far from the reservoir.

Admission fee for adults is 100 baht, children over 120 cm tall is 50 baht. Car parking fee is 50 baht. Children and senior citizens enter for free.

Upon payment of the entrance fee, visitors will receive a map, show schedule, and tickets. They can then drive through the zoo or rent a golf cart.

After the ticket booth, there are shops selling vegetables in bags for 20-100 baht to feed the animals. You can buy them at that point or at the zoo's shops inside, whichever is more convenient for you. We bought ours at this point.

Our first stop is Eld's Deer Park, where many people come to feed the deer. The deer are so well-fed that some of them are no longer interested in eating the long beans.

Next, you can watch the penguins. Visitors can purchase fish to feed the penguins, but it is not recommended to touch them as some penguins are territorial and may bite.

This one looks like it would sting quite a bit. No one seems to be interested in us.

The bear is sleeping soundly.

She woke up and greeted me with a sweet smile.

The hippopotamus pool is a bit dry. It must be hot, so it's probably submerged underwater.

The African Savanna exhibit is designed according to the Zoo Geographic Theme, housing various animal species in a single enclosure. These include giraffes, zebras, ostriches, white rhinos, oryx, springboks, impalas, and blesboks. Spanning 5 acres, the exhibit features a dry moat that allows visitors to observe the animals closely and even participate in feeding activities.

The adorable giraffe is also a voracious eater.

White lion

What kind of bird was it again?

The little otter is staring intently at something, with a giant bird that has strayed from its flock.

The bears like to eat bananas, corn, watermelon, and coconuts. They especially like coconuts. There are 3 bears.

The elephants will have a water show, but we didn't make it in time.
A couple of buffaloes.
Another one just finished playing in the water.
Red cow.
I feel like the wild monkeys are involved everywhere they go. The deer are cute.
Before returning to Bangkok, let's stop by Wang Muk Restaurant at Khao Sam Muk.
There are many restaurants around Khao Sam Muk.
Very hungry, it's time to order food: shrimp in vermicelli, jungle curry with wild mushrooms, steamed squid with lime, fried shrimp cakes, crab rolls, baked clams.
End with mangoes at the mouth of the restaurant's alley.
The sun is about to set, so I quickly parked the car and took some pictures. It's right across from the stadium, and there are a lot of people having picnics.
The last stop is the fishing market at Tha Ruea Plee. It's only open on Saturdays, and there's plenty of food, but I really don't have any more room in my stomach.
That's it for my one-day trip to Chonburi. It's a trip near Bangkok that anyone can take. Thank you all for following me.
