After Road trip to Nan, Oa and KookKai left to Bangkok while I continue to Chiang Rai.
Another 3 days 2 nights Chiang Rai begin again. It was 4 hours from Nan to Chiang Rai but it was not boring routing because there are green forest and mountain along the way.
15th July
This trip I will stay one night in Chiang Rai city and then move to stay on the mountain.
Arrived Chiang Rai late noon so we dropped at a nice cafe near Chiang Rai airport call "Aqaurtale Cafe". The cafe located in the middle of jungle which we cannot see them from outside.
They have small room with air-con and outdoor space separated to be 3 zones
It was good weather, so I chose outside.
And the menu I ordered was coconut no syrup.
This cafe is very good. It close to airport so next time if I fly to Chiang Rai I will drop here before flight for sure.
After finished drink, we continued to city area to check in before I meet with my old friend.
I booked room at small 3* hotel name "SANN Boutique Hotel". I decided to book this hotel because when I contact them. The admin response very quick and always communicate with good information. Price also reasonable as well.
After checked in and dropped our luggage in the room. We left to meet our friend.
Nut is our longtime friend, and longtime no see each other. The restaurant which he chose is so nice.
Beautiful sunset view
And food also good
I like this one the most
We were enjoyed eating and talking
Staff at restaurant friendly. This restaurant located around 20 minutes from city center but very nice.
16th July
Since this is low season so hotel provide buffet for salad, coffee, tea and drink but we can order main dish from their menu and this is our menu.
After breakfast, we checked out and visit a temple which I always visit every time I travel to Chiang Rai "Wat Pra Kaew"
After temple continue to the mountain, STAR DOI is the place I want to visit again because last March I went there but the weather was not good, so the view was not clear.
This time we got difference view, and it was much nicer
Finally, we can feed the sheep. Last time I came, the weather was too hot
And we got drinks which included in the ticket THB 100/person
Next stop was on the mountain
We stopped by at PHU KUMA a small cafe with very nice view for some snack and drink
This cafe is on PHA MHEE, another mountain before our destination PHA HEE.
From PHA MHEE to PHA HEE took around 30 minutes
And finally, we arrived PHA HEE
And enjoyed simple lunch with stunning view again
And before checked in, I saw there is a nice place with colorful umbrella and the restaurant said I can go there with only THB 60/person for transfer by local truck.
And it worth to go, the view is amazing.
We spend an hour there then return to the restaurant and wait for someone to pick up us to the camp where we booked.
PHA HEE MOUNTAIN CAMP is the place I booked
The first reason I chose this place because of the location
Simple decoration in the tent. Up on arrival, staff informed us about afternoon tea
And here what they served
And we finished afternoon tea around 15.00hrs
We walked around the camp; the area is not big but every corner with very nice view
And it was 18.00hrs when the dinner was served to our tent
We were enjoyed BBQ (MHOO KRA TA) again with this view.
Until sunset to another mountain
And because I was full moon period so we can see beautiful sky
17th July
06:00am I woke up as always to get some nice shots before sunrise
And I do not know how to describe this beautiful
I spent around 30 minutes out there just sit and enjoy the view. The wind blows the mist flying pass our tent and I can feel that cool and fresh.
We prepared to leave, shower and then ready at restaurant for breakfast
And view from restaurant also beautiful. We spent another 30 minutes at the restaurant for breakfast but actually just 10 minutes for each and the rest for enjoyed the view
We checked out and left the camp and get on the local truck to the village again.
And this is the last shot I took our camp from the parking in the village. I think this is the best place to stay here.
We left Pha Hee and continue to another side of Chiang Rai
Stopped by at the tea shop to drink some nice tea
This one is hot Oolong rice tea and from first sip I order some of them as I'm a tea lover, so I like this one. And we ordered another menu an ice-Osmanthus tea, this one also so good.
Before we left, I got new friend.
We finished teatime, we left tea shop and heading down to city and continue to Chiang Mai.
Chiang Rai is one of my most favorite province in Thailand especially during rainy season when everywhere turn to green. And I'm sure that soon I will come back again. Because sitting with this kind of the view is the best!
